this entire video shows why its best to wait to find the perfect piece rather than quick stock furnishing. loved how the prop style came out, Paige! especially the little glassware, bar, and stools. i love when things look like they literally BELONG there. u always make things look so polished.
As someone who grew up in post-soviet country this style has a very soviet vibe to me, it's those type of units that people give away (they're not that well made of course) since nobody wants to buy them, they're soaked with tyranny and trauma. Your design taste however is very interesting to me, it opened up this perspective that this style of furniture was prominent beyond Soviet Union and so it doesn't carry this heavy, oppresive, cookie cutter design vibe to it in a country like US. It helped me take a fresh look at this style and appreciate it more. Also, like I mentioned, in the USSR the quality of furniture wasn't that great compared to what you had in the free world, so that also adds to this aversion to mid century style. It's coming back here in my home country though, we're healing!
I actually jumped and yelled No when you pulled out that power saw for your beautiful cabinet. LOL your cabinet is perfect your barstools are perfect everything is coming along perfectly I’m so happy for you NOW😂 get your upholstery guys working.
the wall unit looks sooooo good! im so happy for you that you found something so perfect! makes me wanna go look for something similar to my own home now!
That wall unit is everything. I love the way you styled it. And I know you don’t really love plants but a few trailing pothos or philodendron could look nice on top of the far right unit - closest to the door I also love the new bar stools. They are the perfect size to curl your legs up too.
Great wall unit, amazing barstools and all ... but the Portugal t-shirt? Stunning, 10/10, stole the show, could not get my little portuguese brain to focus on anything else
Omg do you also watch Paige and are from Portugal? 🥹😭🇵🇹 I literally never meet anyone who loves to watch Paige I also gasped when I saw her Portuguese t shirt
I am amazed how quick you can create an atmosphere simply by re-arranging your stuff. You have a lot of good stuff and the secret is how to arrange everything in a way that will create an atmosphere. The wall unit is great and I am sure it is going to evolve constantly, because you are going to constantly re-arrange all the stuff on it. It will be a living piece of furniture, it will breathe.
Hi Paige, Your wall unit is ABSOLUTELY G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S!!!!! Definitely a piece to keep forever. It looks just perfect in your space, and I'm so glad you didn't have to cut into it. It's been a joy watching your decorating journey. You highlight that it takes time to curate a space that is truly personal. And I believe that's what many of us really want, rather than a space filled as quickly as possible with all the latest trends. I'm excited for the next reveal!
I had a teak wall unit that my parents bought in the ‘70’s. That thing was a beast and after many moves we parted ways. Makes me sad now because they seem to be gaining style again. (It was just heavy AF.) This reminds me SO much of that set.
I love these little movies with you. The cabinets look AMAZING!! They make the living room look even better with the added warmth and art. The space is coming together so nicely. Can’t wait to see what you do next. 😊
Wall unit is stunning! You seem to listen to a lot of music so, if you can, I would recommend spreading those speakers out as far as possible for better sound when playing your records.
Hey Paige, if you see this comment I wanted to tell you that removing the panel off the back of that unit will cause the entire unit to become unstable over time, so you should cut our only the space for a cord and put the panel back
Omg I gasped once you started putting the books, etc on your new shelving unit. I LOVE IT!!! 😭😭😭 You styled it so beautifully. I need you to help me decorate my place.
Love the cabinet unit - and love that Peter Brotzmann, The Chicago Tentet poster, love the bar stools, love the outdoor chairs, love the natural wood table that you are going to keep it that way - perfect! I'd love to be one of those people at your outdoor soirée and drink wine while listening to your albums.
Hahah the dog just sauntering through your place …. Classic. The wall unit is such a find. They’re gorgeous. Fantastic that they are modular like that. You’ll always find use for them wherever you go. Instantly transformed your place into a warm cosy home. Very cool stools. Comfortable bar stools are, in my experience, ridiculously hard to find.
I got a legit decor high from watching this. I have cool rusty chairs in my back garden in Brooklyn and I think I should probably Killz & paint to stop the rust fro eating away at them but another idea is a clear glaze that would stop the rust from eroding the metal while keeping the look. I never miss an "ep" so look forward to seeing what's next.
Paige I'm....SO obsessed with these sectional wall units. I'm 100% going to have to start a search for one for my next place. You really struck gold though.
I absolutely love your shelving units. And it was a great idea to put the single one on that wall. Looks fantastic! And by the by…I knew you could lift and move that shelf over to where you wanted it. Women can do anything by themselves when it comes to decorating. Haha Great bar stools too. If you want to save that back piece of wood you can simply nail it into the wood above. The extra thickness won't matter, it's out of the way and it's there for if ever you want it.
Paige! Take that t-shirt of the busts of you & your siblings, stuff it with a piece of cardboard, and have it MOUNTED in a frame with a warm matte background and an ornate frame. it was wholesome. So random, but I enjoyed it haha
