I saw this on TV a few years ago. They keep that one line going for hrs lol and the band comes back and sings it with them. It was amazing! And i love the solo! :D
This was one of their newer songs. It turned into one of my favorites, not just by them, but in general. I was surprised when I typed their name into the search, that this was the first one to pop up. I'm glad it was captured live.
I'VE GOT THIS CD ON MY DVR FROM VH-1 THIS IS THE GREATEST GROUP OF GUY WISH THAT BIG OPENING COMES FOR THEM SO THAT THEY WILL BECOME A HOUSRHOLD NAME THEIR MUSIC IS THE BEST AND i' 60 YEARS OLD.
Collective soul and the phylharmonic what a combination I have this DVD brilliant I saw them when they came to aus when of the best concerts I ever saw underated band should be bigger here in aus
I've loved Collective Soul since I was six years old. I just recently got this DvD, and it's one of the best musical experiences i've ever seen. God, just so awesome.
The first time I heard this song, David Bowie came to mind. The singer sounds like him. I liked it already the first time I heard it. This song really rocks!
Great post, loved this version. Perfect storm - home town boys, Ed's charisma and engagement, and especially the orchestra accompaniment. IMO, a band/orchestra/choir always adds something special. Off the top of my head, there are some great recordings by Elton John, U2 and Fleetwood Mac where this occurred (and yes, I realize that means I'm an old guy).
I saw them last night @ Crossroads in Kansas City and by far they were much better than Live..... and this tune was the best they played.... awesome show...
so do i there pretty amazing in concert and i wonder how the kids reacted when they heard they were playing orchestra for a famous rock band in one of there biggest concerts ever. lol
It's rock and roll... nothing wrong with a little jumping around! Judging by your post, were you shocked when Elvis or The Beatles wiggled their hips on TV?
@Primetime4549 a good basis for what Joel's is simply bringing the chords up an octave and playing the individual notes. Near the end he kinda goes nuts but you can work it by ear until it sounds right.
how much do I like CS and this song? well, I've been known to blare this fucking song, go on my deck with a broom as my mike and do my best ed roland impersonation- I SUCK! admit it, I'm damn sure not the only one!
@ccmusicfan1: It did and it has-tastes just changed, that's all. And this song was a Top Ten hit back in 2004, so they aren't hurting or lacking for attention, obviously.
ive noticed alot of there songs are about god and just making the most of your life and to stop stressing cause your not gonna live forever CS sends out a pretty important message i think its probobly cause ed rolands dad was a pastor. anyway they are really good even better in concert alot of bands in concert dont sound better than there CD lol
Does anyone know where I can get the tab for this version? I wanna make my own arrangement with some of the riffs of this with the sax solo in the studio version.
The energy in this video is incredible! This is most definitely one of Collective Souls all time best!
Those kids in the background are all stars... freaking amazing, the collaboration between the AYSO and Collective Soul!!!
I saw this on TV a few years ago. They keep that one line going for hrs lol and the band comes back and sings it with them. It was amazing! And i love the solo! :D

Around 1:58 is a great moment, but the whole thing rocks! Great live performance of a great song by one of the best bands ever!
every single kid on that stage will remember this for the rest of their life.

Jole Kosch playing a Mirage guitar jacked into an AC30 pushing a Marshal cab = most epic rock riff tone ever.
Just kickASS....I LOVE THIS

what commercial is this song via only the music is this for? it for a car commercial!
Does anyone know where I can get the tab for this version? I wanna make my own arrangement with some of the riffs of this with the sax solo in the studio version.
Ed wanted to marry me--well in a dream I had lol. No way, he refused to do the dishes and I had to throw him the hell out.
Any chance that you could record your school band's version and post it on RUclips?
haha nice bro :)
probably this way it better suits the singer
