Collective Soul is the most underrated band! Take a listen to their music library and they simply do not make a bad song. Ed Roland is a great songwriter and composer of his music. Outstanding!
It is rare nowadays to find a performance that is more genuine and sincere as this. This is what music is all about. Ed wore his heart on his sleve for this. It wasnt manufactured. Anyone with half a brain, and half a heart should be able to connect with this. Just an unbelievable performance charged with emotion that we can all relate to in some form or another.
When people think of Collective Soul they think of one song. Shine. Not only do they have many other great hits, but the men of the band put on one of the best shows in rock and roll. As a long-time concert-goer, I have seen every band from The Rolling Stones to The Red Hot Chili Peppers. Out of the 60+ bands I have seen, none have put on a better show than Collective Soul. Every band member brings their own special piece of the puzzle to every show. If you have the opportunity to see Collective Soul, please don't hesitate. You won't be disappointed!
This song brings me to complete tears ..... what a gift Ed has ✨🎶✨.... Never realized how talented this collective group was / is . Thanking the creator for guiding me to this group .... I 'm such a music buff still 30 some years after first hearing them ! Gratitude ✨🙏🏻✨
Such an emotional song anyway and when it dedicates it to his dad who had just passed away it is sadder than anything I can imagine, I love collective soul
I love this song. This show was incredible. I was there. The thing is when we first got there, the tickets we had were to sit up at the top. Little to our surprise, we got to move down like super close. It was awesome. CS is my FAVORITE GROUP of the ALL!!!
I feel so old. I remember wanting to try out for the AJ when I was in the 8th grade. If you were in the a school band and really enjoyed learning music trying out for the AJ was the ultimate goal. Atlanta's school music program along with the ASO is a wonderful opportunity to expand your knowledge in the arts and entertainment industry hands down.
Beautiful song by a beautiful man for his father.:) I have seen this band live 3 times. My next time, Lord willing, is January 24th in Windsor, Ontario. I love these guys! My favourite band to date! :)
Last time I saw them was at The House of Blues in Chicago, 3 rows from the front, my wife's first live show. Simply amazing concert. I had seen them in the early 2000's. They are always awesome in concert.
The best part of this song off the disc doesn't even start until a long dead space and an entirely different song starts which is the best they've ever done.
Setiap jiwa bermain melodi dgn caranya sendiri..setiap nada seolah olah bernyanyi sendiri di setiap elemen alatmisik mereka namun saat digabung menjadi irama yg indah..rock yg cantik❤
This song is for all the Fathers..(who left the world).. " whos gonna be the shepherd.. to lead this poor boy back home...?? Who's gonna wear my Crown?? I dont know.. I just might alone... Just got to go my way... Truth is, Ed Roland wrote this song when his father died..
I was pretty pissed off when the Broncos lost today, but after listening to this song, I realized that there are much sadder thingis in this world. Thanks to Ed and thanks to the rest CS.
I was actually at this concert, and during this song, and especially the end, Ed was really emotional. This show was excellent, although CS always puts on a wonderful show. I think the radio stations are stupid for not playing them enough. What's their problems? That's ok. I have ALL of CS's cd's, so no sweat.

Thinking of this song today as it's now been 5 years since I lost my dad. 8.9.07 and still stings. Love you Dad. Love you Ed.

I feel the loss he feels for his dad at the end. The song (I will think) was his dad's question. Ed is a wonderful songwriter.

i really like this version of this song. its cool that a youth orchestra got to play with him.
Incredible song. He wrote this song for his dad. Really touching.
It was not shown in this video when his brother came to him to comfort and sort of hug him.. Thats what i love the most and what brothers are for.
One of the most beautiful songs ever
Beautiful tribute to his father.
Wow. Just........wow. I even started to get emotional towards the end there.
WOW All my applaud! God bless you & your father...

This video breaks my heart. Ed must really miss his father.

woo this song gives me chills. idk why but I really like this song! Chorus is amazing!
Me encanta, cuando un cantante es acompañado por una orquesta simfonica...el sonido de los violines ahhhh llegan hasta el hueso.
thats LIVE? INCREDIBLE. his voice sounds just like the CD.
Death.. the certain thing that will happen to us all! Amazing to ponder.
You could tell that Ed was stoked having the wonderful back-up
