My favorite part of this performance is right after the solo, when everything just goes chill and it's quiet, then it all comes back in. This is true music.
Still come back to listen about 4 times a year. Got my sister hooked on doing the same. There is something about this song, the way Collective Soul does it in this video that make me happy inside. 72 years old now. Wish I could dance. Lucky I can still walk. Blessed that I can still hear this song.
@@67maverick 3 years after you wished for him to be 'still around'. I join you to celebrate Larry's memory and his love for great music. May he be forever shining 🤟😍
People talk about wishing they had been at the original Woodstock--or lie and say they were there--but, oh how I would like to have been in the audience for this recording!! I would have been in my mid-50's then and I never could dance--but I wouldn't have been able to sit still. I am 70 now, almost died last year, but when I watch this video my heart soars and I feel young again.
+slim439 Hey slim, I only come here to listen and seldom look at the comments. Surprised mine is still there. Looked at Status Quo--whoooo hoooo, those guys can play!
this is what music is supposed to do... arouse, inspire, thrill, pure bliss. I could listen to this everyday. the passion in every musician onstage is so apparent... love the conductor.
This is one of my FAV bands of all time. Saw 'em live twice & once an acoustic set w/Ed. They need to tour more often. Get 'Dosage' if you don't already have it. Their best!
Watched this full concert the other night on HDnet it was amazing i can only imagine what being there was like....I love these guys what an awesome band!!
ah my favorite song. I love collective soul's songs. I would do aything to be on stage like the orchesrtra. I taught myself how to play this song on guitar and it is the one i like to play most. This is the best live version of this song.
What a lovely invitation. I have rhythm in my brain, in my heart and in my soul--but it never quite got to my feet--even as I young man. Here's the thing--you don't need me to dance, just let your heart, soul, mind flow free and DANCE!
this song makes me think of when i was young like 7 or 8 maybe i heard it on the radio and kept singing it so i wouldnt forget. i never knew the name until a looooong time later. Great memories great song
i believe this is beyond epic, and has moved straight into legendary. this song has been a classic since day one, epic since the many movies and commercials this tune has been in, and legendary since they're still performing it live, as awesomely or better as day one!
These guys are some of the most under-rated rock musicians in the world. Collective Soul has often been overlooked by critics and naysayers because they didn't revolutionize rock or the alt rock scene. This is true...their music didn't reinvent or introduce a new genre, it perfected what was already there. In that regard, they accomplished something no other band ever did. Long live Collective Soul.
Lord, have mercy. If I had been in the audience, that wall of sound, the guitar solo, the music--I am 68 years old and my knees are shot, but I swear I would have been yelling, screaming and dancing like a banzai dance master--and likely died of a heart attack-but what a way to go!
I saw them in concert back when I was like 14 years old, they played this song, which was one of my favorites from them at the time, awwww.. Memories... I miss the early 90's...
Arguably, one of the best alt-rock bands that come out in the 90s. No question about it. They are one of the few bands that are able to soldier on until now although not too big nowadays
God, I miss the 90s. It was such a great time for hard rock. Think about it: Collective Soul, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Chili Peppers, Stone Temple Pilots, Janes Addiction, Soul Asylum, Tool, Faith No More, Smashing Pumpkins, Danzig, Pantera, Type O Negative, White Zombie, NIN....I could go on. Some were more popular than others, but they all ROCKED!!! Kids today are out of luck.
I remember i did this song for a talent show back in 3rd grade with the girl im still with and now our kids are singing these old songs us 90s kids grew up listening i guess its parenting done right
Other bands have come and gone for me, but this one - I'm forever a fan! I see them whenever they come to Cleveland, in fact, they're the only band I'll pay money to see live any more. Always a class act and the music - what can you say but "wow." I've seen "Shine" performed live more times than I can count, but I sure wish I had seen this show. Awesome.
I am SO with you, dude!! I just turned 60, have played in countless bands (Sax/all woodwinds) since the early 70s, still love rocking out to Interstate Love Song by STP, and Ants Marching by Dave Matthews Band (Carter B. is a drum god!). But this version of Shine by C.S. with the rocking out orchestra brought me to my feet!! Wife thought I was insane!! I was screaming, singing and swaying!! Rock on, oldster!! We started it all!!!
OK I'm an old fart(70) and have been their done that but I must admit this is really outstanding. You just don't see many rockers from the 80's hooking up with a symphony and knocking it out of the park.I hope he is still around and kicking ass with this great song. You can bet you won't see a rapper doing this
Saw them last year and it was a good show. Still can rock it. After over 40 years of seeing many concerts, they rank in the top 20! A good time was had by all!
Besides the intro to Gary Allan's "Right Where I Need To Be" this is perhaps the greatest guitar riff ever! You can't control the head from bobbin' along!!
Heard part of this the other day, and realized how long it was since I had played it. Never fails to put me in a sweet mood!!! Thanks for putting it out here, I can't find where I have mine!!!

Yuh dont have to dance Larry, just feel the rhythm & rock along & enjoy. Crank it up & fuck the neighbours.
You still around buddy?
Back again, been a while, love this song. 73 years and still rocking in my soul--bodies a bit beat up, but still rocking in my heart and soul.
Hope you're still around Larry
@@67maverick 3 years after you wished for him to be 'still around'. I join you to celebrate Larry's memory and his love for great music. May he be forever shining 🤟😍
This song is freaking awesom. I love the acoustic version as well.

Onya Larry. Status Quo did a concert back in the late " 80:s Check it out.
+slim439 Hey slim, I only come here to listen and seldom look at the comments. Surprised mine is still there. Looked at Status Quo--whoooo hoooo, those guys can play!

One of the best bands of the 90's.
This is awesome! I loooove this song! Having a full orchestra behind must be so awesome! Yeah!
Melanie Coleman This is in my "things to do before I die" list, for sure
Every time I watch I get goosebumps, this song cranks me up!
That is one kick ass version of that song!
this is what music is supposed to do... arouse, inspire, thrill, pure bliss. I could listen to this everyday. the passion in every musician onstage is so apparent... love the conductor.
I need this so very much today...thank you to my beautiful friends.
We are a collective soul ♥
This is one of my FAV bands of all time. Saw 'em live twice & once an acoustic set w/Ed. They need to tour more often. Get 'Dosage' if you don't already have it. Their best!
The roaring 90's the best music ever where music was imbued with passion

Saludos Loreto-Peru
Still here, still kicking it at 73. Love this video, love the song, wish I had been there when the video was recorded!
I could listen to this a thousand times!! I wish that Joel was still with the band. He is an amazing guitarist...and so gorgeous!!
love this version of the song
anything live and the Orchestra made it sound classy and at full force ☝
Just the very opening of this song gets you pumped up. Using the violins with this song was just brilliant.
The new song Staring Down is stellar. One of my fave groups since the beginning.
Rare musician that the voice gets better with age - very nice.
Watched this full concert the other night on HDnet it was amazing i can only imagine what being there was like....I love these guys what an awesome band!!

one of the greatest songs ever - and one of my favorite guitar solos (just wish it were longer.............)
this song makes me think of when i was young like 7 or 8 maybe i heard it on the radio and kept singing it so i wouldnt forget. i never knew the name until a looooong time later. Great memories great song
Gotta love them, they are great, always will be my favorite!! Rock-on!!
When today's POS music gets you down, there's always Collective Soul's good music to lift you up.
i believe this is beyond epic, and has moved straight into legendary. this song has been a classic since day one, epic since the many movies and commercials this tune has been in, and legendary since they're still performing it live, as awesomely or better as day one!

I love Collective Soul and of all their albums Hints, Allegations, and Things Left Unsaid is my favorite. Shine has to my all time favorite song.
One of the best songs ever written.
Lord, have mercy. If I had been in the audience, that wall of sound, the guitar solo, the music--I am 68 years old and my knees are shot, but I swear I would have been yelling, screaming and dancing like a banzai dance master--and likely died of a heart attack-but what a way to go!

They certainly live up to their name. So cool!!!!
Arguably, one of the best alt-rock bands that come out in the 90s. No question about it. They are one of the few bands that are able to soldier on until now although not too big nowadays
Superb song! I remember the summer of 1994 when I hear it. It was when I first fell in love- back with my high school girlfriend. Great time.
This song must be on the top 10 of songs of the 90's

I was 7 years old when this came out and could never stop listening to this song I liked it so much! :)
This band has always been way under-rated. Shine, forever!!

Why don't I find these songs when I need them? I needed this song in 2007. Oh, well, better late than never. :) Awesome, AWESOME song!!!

Gotta love these guys . Can't wait to see them in Vegas this week . The one guitar player is way tooo hottttttttt ................
Hell yeah. They should take that orchestra with them for every show and every song.
one of the best songs of Collective Soul!!!
Love the guitar throw... Awesome entertainers and even better musicians
those kids in the orchestra really did a good job in sync with the song. and that's a great way to get them into the good music
i was there 4 years ago at that concert. it was amazing with the orchestra
I was there. For my 14th b-day. Thanks Mom and Dad!
The funniest part is that I love this band, and I never new the played with the orchestra that I am joining

I remember when this song first came out. I was like 16 years old and it was just an amazing song. Brings me right back to high school hah.
Great song. I just saw them tonight in Philadelphia with Live and Blues Traveler. All 3 were great.
Besides the intro to Gary Allan's "Right Where I Need To Be" this is perhaps the greatest guitar riff ever! You can't control the head from bobbin' along!!
Actually CS had Ryan playing drums and Joel on guitar for the "Youth" tour when I saw them in Spokane well before this DVD was recorded.
OMG have found this fabulous track . Thank you whoever posted this . Takes me back to 1994 on a beach in Doha Qatar
