23 years later and I still have never seen/heard a band play live music like Pearl Jam., Their best performance, sound, and music comes from live concerts! Never stop the music
Ahh. The days of pre-smartphone concerts. No tweets, no facebook posts, no "selfies". Unfettered from modern narcissism, one could just enjoy the fucking music back then!
There's something particular with this particular band, particular song and particular live, so awesome and unique words can't describe it... This what music is all about and why Rock is the best music out there !
Come back to this song every once in awhile to give me some catharsis to make me feel alive. All the PJ shows I’ve ever attended are pleasantly burned into my memory forever.
Look at the way he sings. Free from inhibition, free from his own mind. He's not singing in English or any known language. He's communicating with that mad crowd with good vibes. So much emotion, so much feeling.
Absolutely that’s the reason why I came back to watch this after five years from the first time I saw this particular live version; also played this song live with a group- my worry was sometimes when we were ripping they would extend, and I would be playing a solo the whole time and I also added war pigs and it killed…
Just an absolutely tremendous live performance! It captured Pearl Jam at the peak of their groundbreaking exposure to the world... Incredible performance of an incredible song!
Never get tired of this song!!! The unique voice of Eddie Vedder, always outstanding and one of a kind. Luuuv how he is like telling a story when singing the lyrics 🤗❤️🍀✌️🌠
I grew up in the era of Led Zep, Stones, Pink Floyd....hands down for pure rock energy and amazing music, Pearl Jam tops them all. Not saying I don't love those other bands as well but this concert what it is all about. Probably the best live performance by any band EVER.
This a monster of s track, Its been in my head for years. I only just sarted looking it up again. the wonders of youtube. GOt to get the Ten album on vinyl
90's miss it so much, the time when people actually listen to music and not like today when all you see are people holding their celfones way up high instead of enjoying.
@@rockable55 i’m not going to agree with you, but I have heard the same from people I respect. The 1990s was a time of a lot of “firsts”; all the cool heavy stuff yes probably came out in the 70s; however, hip-hop, EDM, and other musical forms too hold and flourished; grunge was the simplification deconstruction of more complicated heavy music plus blending other influences like pop to form a cohesive genre of its own. So yes 70s probably had the best music. The 90s had the most diverse.

Neal McCullough Yep. Real music is the power of human emotion transferred into vibrations that our ears can comprehend. It is art for the ears, just like painting or drawing is art for the eyes. Most of the popular stuff you hear today is like someone making a computer draw / paint something up, copy & paste it and then call it "art". It has little to no soul, no heart, no passion; it's driven by soulless, corporate greed. At least we can continue to listen to these good bands from decades ago and also continue to make music of our own; not rely on rich corporations trying to steer us in a direction that we don't want to go. There are some good bands out there today, most are just not mainstream. Good music lives on, it's just most of it is not popular (since most corporations aren't using media to hype them up today).

Watching this, I keep thinking to myself "they should have conquered the world". Yes, they were very big indeed. But they should have been overpowering. By the mid-90's there should not have been a band anywhere that could have stood against them. Yet it never quite happened like that.
+Mark Taylor Chili Peppers were always going to be bigger, but if Vedder didn't mess with the band's sound and Frusciante left RHCP for good in 1994 they could have been the biggest band in the world, even now...
