I'm not necessarily a Pearl Jam fan, but this was a great cover of a timeless song. You can see Eddie actually has emotion as though something in the lyrics hits close to home for him. And this is an era that is forever gone where the crowd isn't looking through a smartphone screen and just enjoying the show!! I miss those days.
I was poor, I had no cable, always listened to Pearl Jam. I was at someone's house and music connection was on. There I saw the band live my very first time! I was so astounded and still am 30 years later! Very few bands that have that affect on ppl! Rock on PJ!!
I was introduced to this band on my first date with my wife of 32 years. We've seen them 26 times over the last 32 years and this morning watching a video of Pearl jam performing in 2022 I realized how fortunate we are to have this group still going strong all these years later. I can't imagine the past 30 plus years without this iconic long rocking band so many of us love. Can't wait to see them #27 😁👍
+Shanda Renee (aphrospice) To each his own Shanda. I have found his vibrato when singing to be way too fucking fast that it doesn't even sound pleasant. Eddie's vibrato today can be a little bit more controlled at times.
I was there with a group of friends from Uni and still watch this video at least once a month. The Cult, Lou Reed and Soundgarden played that day as well... epic.
Pure and Raw is the Music!!! Love this band for 25 yrs!!! Lyrics that always sends the message. And the message is always a subject that matters to us All! We are society and we hear you Eddie!!!! Love the Music of the most Iconic band from the 90's, still here and sending out the message!!
I so glad that I'm able to say I was there. I was 14 and going absolutely crazy. I'll be going to my 17th Pinkpop this year and I'm really looking forward to seeing the Rolling Stones, Metallica and the Arctic Monkeys (and many more). But I'm also a bit disappointed that Pearl Jam won't be there because their performance in 1992 is still one of the best live sets I have ever witnessed... Keep on rocking in the free world!!
I remember my sister's walls being plastered with Pearl Jam posters, and listening to their albums, while playing along with her bass guitar. I really miss those times. omg.. im actually about to cry.. how I miss those good old days.. the audience was nuts!!! To think thats not ever coming back.. we were lucky to be alive and young then, even though we are pretty old now haha
no this is a festival, where there's no time for most of that technical bullshit because when one band gets off another gets on. unless all bands agreed on a set up that would take too much time
3:50 Eddie has that "Holy shit,I can't fuckin believe this!" face lol Such an amazing performance and crowd here; love the energy. So far to me this is the best Rockin in the Free World video there is, so dear person who was present there: I ENVY YOU! ;)
LISTEN, just listen......an extremly relevant lyrics, brilliantly played but the VOICE !!! Eddies voice is PURE MAGIC, spellbinding, emotional and it draws you into euphoria, far beyond.....the EPICNESS is unreal !!
I don't fully know the history of this song, as this is the first time seeing this video and never being a die-hard Peal Jam fan.. but the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction eventually brought me here and I must say I'm hugely impressed with this footage. Fugazi and Talking Heads, then Neil Young all in a jam session sounding amazing.. I'm loving this with the 3rd time on repeat. Wish I would have found this sooner.
Massive stage, mad energy...I was a ferry ride away, but missed it all. I caught REZ @ Jimi's high school tho. Even got to help load out, since like half their crew was snowed in somewhere in Oregon.
Whoever wants to listen to good music these days can find it. It may not be on MTV or on the "radio" but it's all over RUclips and in every shitty little venue across the world. Thousands upon thousands of artists writing songs from their heart.
We have much to learn from people who have rocked, and continue to rock, the system. Let us play our part in creating and shaping a society which fits all its members, and a world that is fair, harmonious and equal.

There's a man of the people, said 'keep hope alive'
Got fuel to burn, got roads to drive
Keep on rockin' in the free world (4x)
\m/
The look on Eddie's face at 3:49 just shows how amazed still is

hugs from Germany
omg.. im actually about to cry.. how I miss those good old days.. the audience was nuts!!! To think thats not ever coming back.. we were lucky to be alive and young then, even though we are pretty old now haha
This is a real concert, where the music is the show not the fireworks and other technical bullshit
no this is a festival, where there's no time for most of that technical bullshit because when one band gets off another gets on. unless all bands agreed on a set up that would take too much time
+Vlad Roman Can't agree with you enough.
great comment bro
+Braden Spencer Reading Fest 2015, Metallica did fireworks and the audience sucked ;)
+Vlad Roman Rammstein disagrees.
It truly doesn’t get any better than that
3:50 Eddie has that "Holy shit,I can't fuckin believe this!" face lol Such an amazing performance and crowd here; love the energy. So far to me this is the best Rockin in the Free World video there is, so dear person who was present there: I ENVY YOU! ;)
Its cold out and THANKS VERY MUCH, WE WILL NEVER FORGET THIS. ITS THE GREATEST THING EVER.
Simply amazing.... very rare do you get this sort of emotion at a concert nowadays....
He couldn't be more gorgeous. Love him. He did an excellent job with this song.
Yeah, he did a 'job'!!
I was there still one off the best gigs i have ever seen
Oh my ❤😊
Oh man, I miss the good old days when people went to festivals because they liked the music, and not just because it was 'cool'.
This is so f-ing beautiful and pure. And so very well done! How can one not fall in love with 1992’s Eddie Vedder?!
I had this cover recorded off of the radio onto a cassette tape. Those were the days.
captivating and unbelievable
Gives me goosebumps. Energy oozing out
LISTEN, just listen......an extremly relevant lyrics, brilliantly played but the VOICE !!! Eddies voice is PURE MAGIC, spellbinding, emotional and it draws you into euphoria, far beyond.....the EPICNESS is unreal !!
Dang, concert moments like this never happen anymore. Real angsty youth and a real rock band
'It's cold out, it don't matter with the music...'
Is this just improv or another cover?
I can't stop singing it, it's soooo good!
Improv
improv..they jamming and he still creating insane lyrical melodies.
Massive stage, mad energy...I was a ferry ride away, but missed it all. I caught REZ @ Jimi's high school tho. Even got to help load out, since like half their crew was snowed in somewhere in Oregon.
pa😊1😊😊😊q😊papq😊😊+😊++😊+😊😊+😊!😊!
Dave is soooo awesome on the drums
DA's drums just unbelievable wowwwwwww
Eddie is singing Suggestion by Fugazi at the very beggining :D

So much energy here, feeling it. Amazing, unbelievable!
Whoever wants to listen to good music these days can find it. It may not be on MTV or on the "radio" but it's all over RUclips and in every shitty little venue across the world. Thousands upon thousands of artists writing songs from their heart.
this song is eternal!
love this concert, love this song, love this band
We have much to learn from people who have rocked, and continue to rock, the system. Let us play our part in creating and shaping a society which fits all its members, and a world that is fair, harmonious and equal.

That look on his face at about 3:50 when he's looking out over the crowd. Imagine how amazing that must feel.
