The energy, the music, everything, this feels so pure and free I wish I could have been around in the 90’s to experience this music culture. money TOTALLY changed them....as soon as they got money, they hated 'getting money'. As soon as they got money, Eddie forgot how to communicate with humans.
he made this shirt by himself is spells "Tivoli" it is a bar in Holland he was with the whole band and everyone got a shirt from that place accept Eddie so he made one himself and wear it at the concert! LOL
It's not about the money. It's his passion for making and singing great, sorry let's refrase that for making and singing fantastic music. OMG and what a powerful voice.
rwoods2k not totally true, at first Eddie would answers all the letters of his fans and he gave all of himself in his responses. When they got more successful he just couldn’t do that anymore. In my opinion Eddie is still as down to earth as he can be.
Spot-on ~ perhaps the greatest ever in that regard... their passionate energy unsurpassed, especially while Keith Moon was alive. WOW ~ what an awesome band!

Vedder is one of those few frontmen who sound as good on stage as they do on a finished mastered record and hearing him live like this shows his vocal aptitude and ability ... such an amazing band, years of great music thanks to them have gotten me through some of my worst days
I recently saw a documentary about pear jam and it was said that the guy who produced most of the big hits never altered Eddie's voice, he kept it as raw to give pj that exclusive sound.
Myself as well. Eddie saved me from taking my own life more than once as a teenager. He gave me hope and made me feel less alone with the lyrics and emotion that he gives you with every word. What a beautiful man he is. You can't help but fall in love with his heart. Keep your head up and stay focused, we will be okay, I believe that. Sending you love, prayers and strength 💜
I saw Pearl Jam late last year at LA convention center...they are still one of my favorites...but this concert definitely shows the youth and fire of a group starting out...as it should be..
I think you're absolutely right. He doesnt just sing music. He sings heart. His heart. We need more of this in life dont we?! Someone who means what they say!
I love the bit from @18:30 to 18:40 ... Eddie's fully lost in the Black lyrics, and Stone wanders over to just check him out. Like... "wow, that's our singer - how lucky are we?"
@16:42 Soundgarden's Kim Thayil enjoying himself backstage watching his grunge brothers and waiting for him and Chris Cornell to perform later that day on the legendary 8th of June 1992...

Fuck that. Cocaine, booze, whatever. The songs, their origins don't lie. Cocaine, booze I don't give a shit. No room for paper thin commitment, no room for dead eye pop music. This is it. As real as it gets.
These 90s videos of Pearl Jam take me back to when we moved to Seattle & grunge was everywhere. From the way Eddie is dressed to the music, it's such a beautiful time to remember.
That's like living in the late 60's early70s . Hippies had great musicians n songs and bands. I'm 72 n I love me some Eddie Vedder. , pearl jam. Awesome band.
U should of seen the crowd when they were at ft bend county park outside houston at lollapalooza! 80,000! Strong in the 100 degree weather with 100% humidity! Everyone jamming!
I always liked Pearl Jam. An older cousin of mine gave me Yield for christmas when I was like 10. I never really got into them like Nirvana or Oasis which I have loved for years now. But this performance really won me over. Unbelievably raw and visceral energy while still being tight and sharp musically. And Eddie is a damn animal genius. I’m on the train now. Only 20 years late but I’m here for it.
I think a lot of us feel that way. They were hands down on another level for awhile at least. I love all the bands from this era but I’m not sure I can honestly say any could do this. This is just musically something special and the weird thing is it looks as if everyone knows it.

You dont know how much I wish I was gen x for this reason. Really sucks I wasn't there in their prime. But I'm really grateful they're still around today though.
I turned 46 on October 22 and watching this brings back so much emotion. God damn we had it good didn’t we. Young, healthy, and so excited to see what our lives were gonna bring. Some of us might be exactly where we thought we would be, some of us may have lived a life we never dreamed of and never wanted, and some of us have already said goodbye to this place and moved on. I have a level of love for my fellow Gen X peers. It’s like we all get the same incredibly deep and important inside joke. But it was far from a joke. You just had to be there. Like it is with so many other things. You just had to be there. And for you 70s and 80s people making a case let’s put it this way we are like brother and sisters to you. I mean this concert being called “grunge” is silly. This is a form of rock that formed from the classic rock of late 60s, 70s, and select groups in the 80s with its own added elements. Flannel shirts were a fad. This is timeless.
All generations have music icons. I was born in 88, so I got to experience grunge, post punk, pop punk, nu-metal and the explosion of rap and it's evolution to now. I'm a huge fan of the 60s,70s & 80's as well. Great music in every era, even this current one you just have to look for it more thoroughly now because of oversaturation.
Young, healthy, and so excited to see what our lives were gonna bring look what happened to us, 50% are bleeding out the eyeballs and the rest are fighting the ones who want to help!!
Never read a comment more on point than this. Great concert, great band that shows fans love....make sure you make that time machine big enough for two, cause i will be there with ya brother.

They were there for me during some of the most amazing parts of my youth too. And at 43, I wish i could go back, for one day to be front row at this show, and FEEL that passion again live! It's fucking Magical!!!

That could be used to describe whole period of 90s . End of 90s is when big tech started milking people. Also people became more aware of more stuff so blissful ignorance is the thing of the past.
This footage brings me untold JOY. When PJ played London Brixton Academy 93 me and my mate bunked off school and hung around all day outside the venue. Luckily they kept a few return tickets at the door and we got in. Felt like we had won the lottery. They opened with the song “Release” and the crowd went absolutely nuts for the 2nd tune “Even Flow” that they had to stop the show as everyone fell over. It was so influential to my friend and me and we formed a band because of that gig basically. Great to see PJ still rocking in 2024 ❤

First time I saw them was opening for RHCP and Smashing Pumpkins. Had not heard of them before as TEN was just about to be released. They were pure magic, killing a 30 minute set with insane energy. For me I always feel I have seen a great live band when I hear the songs later and I can still picture them playing it perfectly in my head. I left the venue that night with "Alive" stuck in my head.

38:23 The joy on his face. We as fans, don't realize sometimes, how much we impact the artists and make it possible for them to feel that "release" that we feel from their music! The greatest feelings I've ever felt in my 50 years, have been at live shows. It's like, every person in the crowd vibes at the exact same frequency for a second and become one, as a whole. Then we echo or reverberate that positive energy back to the ones who created it, completing the cycle of healing. THAT, to me, is the true feeling of the POWER of music and the unseen force that connects people who listen to it. TO WHOMEVER READS THIS, You are never alone in whatever you are going through in life! That common denominator we share in certain songs, will get you through ANYTHING! Does that make sense?

I can't stop listening to this, or watching it. the emotion, the raw musical experience, the drums the bass the guitar the crowd, I am afraid to say that we may never experience musical or tribal music experiences like this again after the past year and a half. I am only grateful that I am old enough to have experienced it live while it happened in real time and not just a google search, but it is so great to have this time machine to go back and experience it again.
It's true, but it's not Covid that will keep us from experiencing this kind of thing, it's the age of the cell phone. When you went to a concert in 1992, the music had your complete attention. No calls, no texts, nothing on earth to distract you from experiencing things in the moment, where you were and what you were doing. Unfortunately, those times are gone and not coming back.
90s were the best. 18 in 92. Nearly brings tear to my eye thinking about it. Skateboarder from 89 all thru 90s too and being part of the generation to change skateboarding from its early Street skating to what it is today was an honour. And being aware of that at the time was exciting. Not forgetting of course, no social media bs. Look at crowd, loving it, not worrying about filming it for their crappy Instagram.
Exactly honestly I'm 17 right now and I just started playing bass a little over a year ago but I still got a few years to practice because I wanna start a band I for sure wanna actual good lead vocalist which will be hard to find in today's world cause I wanna put on an actual good live show

@@davidbattaglene6873 there is nothing like it!
arguably one of the concerts in history. Best of PJ, yes definitely
Absolutely!!! Those folks definitely got their money's worth at this show
Eddie's wearing the exact same clothes in MTV unplugged, literally just watched it...money doesn't change the man. Love him.
Hes not going to be wearing that t shirt anymore
money TOTALLY changed them....as soon as they got money, they hated 'getting money'.
Very few bands sound this good live! What an experience it must have been to be there! The 90’s grunge rock sure was a great time to be alive!
PJ was like The Who as great live performers sound & showmanship !!!
Spot-on ~ perhaps the greatest ever in that regard... their passionate energy unsurpassed, especially while Keith Moon was alive. WOW ~ what an awesome band!
yes Greenday, Offspring, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Radiohead
Stone Temple Pilots, Alice in Chains, Tool omg 😮
Still is.bring Nov Goldy to experience again
wie Geil is Das denn !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bin fast 60 mittlerweile.... Fühl mich grad wieder wie mit 20.... "Alive" hat mir damals quasi das Leben gerettet. Danke nochmal Eddie.
Vedder is one of those few frontmen who sound as good on stage as they do on a finished mastered record and hearing him live like this shows his vocal aptitude and ability ... such an amazing band, years of great music thanks to them have gotten me through some of my worst days
Layne is right there with him
I recently saw a documentary about pear jam and it was said that the guy who produced most of the big hits never altered Eddie's voice, he kept it as raw to give pj that exclusive sound.

Absolutely
You said it well brother
All generations have music icons. I was born in 88, so I got to experience grunge, post punk, pop punk, nu-metal and the explosion of rap and it's evolution to now. I'm a huge fan of the 60s,70s & 80's as well. Great music in every era, even this current one you just have to look for it more thoroughly now because of oversaturation.
Young, healthy, and so excited to see what our lives were gonna bring

I didn't hear Pearl Jam until '93- but when I did- I fell hard in love w/ Pearl Jam- and I was already Old. I took my then teens to see PJ in '94, '95, & '96- and I've kept on going to see Pearl Jam live, throughout the years up through 2022, as best I could. My granddaughter has been my +1 to see Pearl Jam live five times since 2021- - - i'm so glad and so lucky! So yes-keep on rockin' in the free world, w/ Pearl Jam -
Thankyou Pearl Jam!
@@riadhbenkilani4733 yeah I’m so grateful for RUclips! We have all these priceless videos to watch anytime we want to.
@@sv-yh3mq your granddaughter has great taste in music. Way to go grandma.
TO WHOMEVER READS THIS,
You are never alone in whatever you are going through in life! That common denominator we share in certain songs, will get you through ANYTHING!
Does that make sense?
🙋🏻♀️Hey Norm...wonderful comment! So in love with this concert. Eddie’s whole vibe is totally healing to me. Discovered them late in life around 5 years ago. I’m 72 now. Just proud that I found them. Thank you RUclips.
Thank care Norm. Cheers 🤟✌️
@@virginiaknighten4687 That's awesome that you connected with Pearl Jam! I was in my late teens during the "Grunge" era. Temple of The Dog, who later became Soundgarden and Pearl Jam, and my favorite, Alice in Chains helped me through some tough times. Still do.
I hope you have, and/or will, get the chance to discover all of the great music these guys have created!
Yes it makes perfect sense...and is TRUTH. Kept me going through extreme lockdowns, death of family members, and moments of doubt & hopelessness. Music/lyrics/live performances are alive & powerful, transformative. In that moment of connection between music and a heart/soul there is no separation of space nor time..just the Spirit experiencing❤️🔥past present future all at once with others through different times and in different places on the earth💫⚡️its all electricity & vibration and we all affect one another. And that's very cool.
@@virginiaknighten4687 Love this: I got into these guys late, too- in 1993! Have seen them Live a very cherished by me amount over these 30 years since, and I am very grateful that I've gotten to do that, because I was smitten by them at first hearing, so I sought them Live immediately, and they Are So Good Live- Basically my favorite STILL for live music events as I'm 65 at the moment, appreciating what you posted
Excellent Comment- I Know why you like them Live. See you in the GA, from the seats overlooking. This band's fan club provided the best seats EVER when I saw Pearl Jam live @Fresno, Ca in 2022- It has floated my boat seeing them Live, over my approx. 29 yrs. since I first heard them, and immediately sought & saw them Live, & have continued to Since - Love what and How you Describe This. All The Best to you! I agree w/ your description!
Best live performance of all time? Brings a tear to my eye. What a time to be young and alive. Music really hit different back then. So much passion.
I’m old enough to have experienced it live too...but I didn’t. So I am very grateful to RUclips!
I can’t stop listening/watching to it either, this one is great too if you haven’t seen it

@@JulianEliges of course! Ed is a madman in that one lol… well this one too but even more so in that one
I've completely fallen in love with this performance.
It is the very best!!
Same age too. Always think about this time and how great it was.
Reminds me of all the money I spent in skate shops over those years for my boys- kind of rivalled my concert ticket expenses, still a good thing...
How does he sing Jeremy so effortlessly? It's out of this world man! Eddie is an 👽
no autotune all pure vocals amazing
Exactly honestly I'm 17 right now and I just started playing bass a little over a year ago but I still got a few years to practice because I wanna start a band I for sure wanna actual good lead vocalist which will be hard to find in today's world cause I wanna put on an actual good live show
