I love how into it the conductor gets! Also in Shine I love it when an asian kid on violin is rocking out, rocking back & forth in his chair! What a mondo-thrill for the kids getting to share the stage & bright lights with such a top notch band! What a cool thing to do and killer way to get the next generation of artists in place!
Wise rock musician once said, "If a song makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up, then that's the shit." Well this performance made the hair on my neck, arms and legs stand up!
Music-The art or science of combining vocal or instrumental sounds (or both) to produce beauty of form, harmony, and expression of emotion. Rap is music. Who cares. This is amazing.
I've told MANY people this over the past few years. Back when CS was all over the charts, I NEVER really cared that much for them. Some of their songs I found to be ok to GOOD, but just never really "got into them". Until... I saw this on HBO one night a few years ago, and my mind was DRAMATICALLY changed in an instant. To see how they reacted to the concert goers and even MORE so how they interacted with the ASYO made me INSTANT and LIFE LONG FAN! Such ENERGY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@magellun ME TOOOO. I will be turning 54 in May and I have loved this band since I first discovered them in the 90s. I am a classic rocker too and I know what you mean. I only wish they would come to Long Island in the near future but they're not scheduled to. I saw them at a college here maybe 13 or 14 yrs back and they were incredible.
Right there with you magellun. A few years shy of "fiddy" but my formative years were in the 70s. There's been a few (very few) bands who would've fit right in to the eclectic 70s music scene. You know man, when "Disco Sucks!" was chanted @ every show. Yet it was totally cool to listen to Nugent & EWF. Rush & Jonny Guitar Watson. ACDC & Steely Dan, Heart & Billy Joel, Zep & CSN. Of course corporatized compartmentalized FM radio & more corporporatized, mtv music ended that! Peace!
Me old bastard. Me like CS. So, maybe me not so old after all... These blokes are a bunch of very good musicians. Really , i'ts a rarity those days to still be able to turn on people with your music. You must be really good.
@ccmusicfan1 I agree, it was a solid effort. Right from the beginning of the show with Counting The Days. What a cool idea and these kids must have loved every minute of it.
did these guys breal up???i saw them on TV playing a song that bordered on incoherent with only the singer looking familiar.GREAT SONG.A real throwback to the classic rock days.
haha cRap sucks lol. thought i'd just join in. but i am pretty sure its mroe than 6 percent. lol. love collective soul. nice grungy alternative sound. very enjoyable. and the orchestra is a huge plus
For some reason, I think this epic song just doesn't sound quite right orchestrated. It's just.. different. Easily my favorite song in the world, and always will be.
rap is not music, music is singing and real instruments not talking gibberish if they want a name for Christian rap don't have the word rap in it as close-minded as this sounds its a guard to block the negative and a protector of the truth
uber-band, I'm 55 years old and love these guys ! They fit with all the classic rock I listen to.
This band is better every time i listen to them...always hearing something new..
Collective Soul is an amazing group. Adding the orchestra just made it that much better. Awesome video!
I watched this whole concert on HDTV the other night....amazing, still one of my favorite bands.

Holy. Shit.

Great song!...the drummer looks just like our local meterologist (weather guy)...lol, that's heavy.
lO... Maximoooooo...:D !!
oh yeah
Ever heard of Dan le Sac vs. Scroobius Pip? No? Then shhhhh.....
Thats REAL RAP!
Es cierto, Joel la rompe definitivamente y Ryan es mas expresivo que Shane Evans. Collective está en lo mejor de su carrera actualmente y me enorgullezco de haberlos visto en vivo y en directo. Bien pagadas mis 157 lucas!!!
@wild1033 I respectfully disagree. The string section brought it a new dimension. I would have loved to have been there.
*prefer
lagu ini bikin semangat
from rahmd gilbert indonesia
permen
the lead singer is good looking
only main stream rap killed this. Check out Hilltop Hood restrung, they do this very well
The orchestra makes it too busy. It doesn't need it.
show me a song where x japan is metal. i've never heard of them and just checked them out, its pretty much soft rock
@magellun bro u got some years on u lol
Brother of Daenerys was frontman of this group before he was burned ? xD
and orchestra lol
@jetskiism People love bashing rap music. Nothing else better to do then bring up rap on a rock video?
haha cRap sucks lol. thought i'd just join in. but i am pretty sure its mroe than 6 percent. lol. love collective soul. nice grungy alternative sound. very enjoyable. and the orchestra is a huge plus

in order to be a successful rock lead singer you have to be able to dance weird.
I really like orchestral stuff combined with rock/metal but it just doesn't work with this song. Love Collective Soul anyways.

WTF...... the responses are about "obama" / politics. how good lood looking the singers is. etc. etc. WHAT ABOUT THE SONG ???!!!!!
hey now lets not go there i like this and voted for Obama and im black and date women of all races
