    A friend's CP4 pump disintegrated while he was on a road trip in the winter, leaving him stranded in the middle of nowhere. It's lucky he survived. When he got the truck into the dealership the dealer said "Wow! This has never, ever happened before! It's one in a million!". The repairs cost him almost $12,000. I'd never consider buying a Ford truck, knowing that Ford can't even be honest about such a serious defect.

    My biggest challenge is finding a really excellent in Western NC shop to install this new pump. I vetted several diesel shops in my area off your website and honestly need a much higher level of confidence that this pump will be professionally installed. One shop said they would need my truck for two days to check for leaks? 😮 Open to suggestions before I place my order. Thanks.

    • @SSfueled
      @SSfueled  16 дней назад +1

      It's not a bad thing to take a little extra time to check for leaks after the fuel system has been open. In most cases it is not needed, but a little extra quality control is good. We have good confidence in the installers listed on our dealer map. They are either vetted by the distributor they buy from our by us directly if they are a direct dealer. We do not have a lot of coverage in Western NC, so you may need to expand your search into Tennessee or Georgia. Shoot an email to info@ssdiesel.com and we can recommend a few places that are Power Stroke specialists.

    • @SSfueled
      @SSfueled  7 месяцев назад

      The complete Disaster Prevention Kit is not compatible with the DCR, yet it is not needed. The DCR will not create fine metal debris if it does fail. The return filter assembly portion of the DPK can be retained and it will not hurt anything.

  • @user-hy1oc5wk5h

    looks like a good kit by wondering you say it helps save the fuel system. so do you guarantee it to save the fuel system or only help

    • @SSfueled
      @SSfueled  7 месяцев назад

      Great question. Due to how the DCR is designed, it will not generate fine metal debris if it does fail. It does not have a tool steel roller and cam like the CP4. That is what creates the fine debris that takes out the rest of the fuel system. Failures happen with everything, so it would be irresponsible for us to say that the DCR will never fail. So far, it has held up well and there have been two cases of trucks getting water in their fuel and the DCR survived it. We can't guarantee that every DCR will handle fuel contamination, but it's a possibility. We offer a two-year unlimited-mile warranty on the DCR, and if for some freak reason it fails and sends debris through the injectors, we'll make it right.

    Ford has provided amazing business opportunities for the aftermarket for years. The 6.0 and 6.4 diesels, and this, a clear example on the 6.7.
    My question involves Ford's lack of respect for its customers by not doing this themselves? I can understand back in 2011 when Ford and GM both started using the CP4 simply because it was lightweight, inexpensive, and it worked only to find out they were a huge problem and a fatal design flaw. GM fixed this in 2017 with its use of the Denso HP4 on the L5P diesel. Ford continues use of the CP4 and it took the aftermarket to solve this problem. Many Ford and GM 2011 to 2016 customers have had to foot the huge cost of a new fuel system and this continues with Ford 2011 to current.
    Why would anyone purchase a Ford product that has time and time again displayed such a huge disrespect for customers by continuing to use known defective parts, the CP4.2 for example? SSfueled along with Stanadyne have apparently solved this problem why didn't Ford? Why would anyone that does any amount of research buy a Ford?

    • @kelceyk8199
      @kelceyk8199 Год назад +8

      Because despite what your anecdotal experience on the internet may indicate, the CP4 failure rate is extremely low to the point of being a non-issue. Less than 1%. Combined with the fact that the ford trucks are usually of much higher quality overall in the chassis and body than GM and Chrysler, that's your answer.

      @SSfueled  Год назад

      Thank you for choosing S&S to protect your fuel system. We don't blame you for wanting extra filtration, even on the return side. The good news is that you will not need it. The DCR eccentric drive is unlikely to make metal, even if it does fail. Unlike the CP4, the DCR case and plungers are fed independently, which is the same as running a disaster prevention kit. Due to differences in the pump, the bypass portion of our DPK will not physically fit the DCR. The return filter assembly portion of the kit does not connect to the pump, so it is possible to retain that part with a DCR install. We're confident that the return filter is not needed with a DCR, but it will not hurt anything to keep it on if you want.

Between s&s , h&s diesel and a few others i have zero oem filters because i dont plan on buying another truck for a good few years. I was a cummins guy to the core but the 6.7ps just does more for me performance and towing wise .

      We designed this to be a durability improvement and have not tested for increased power. The DCR has 25% more displacement, but that may not necessarily equate to a 25% power increase (if the calibration calls for it). • @originalchilehed
      @originalchilehed Год назад +2

      @@SSfueled Thanks for the honest reply! As I understand it, most CP4 pumps don’t fail when using uncontaminated fuel with good lubricity, so when doing a redesign it’s not enough to show that a sample of the new pumps also don’t fail when using good fuel. To truly demonstrate an improvement you need to show that a contamination level that will cause, let’s say, 50% of a sample of CP4 pumps to fail in 48 hours, will not cause any of the redesigned pumps to fail when testing more of them for longer periods of time. It should only take a couple of months on a test bench to do such testing, and being able to say that you did it would be a great marketing point.
      That being said, the design changes you've described do sound very promising.

I would have liked to have bought from s&s directly, but I was told I had to go through a dealer. Yall emailed me 3 dealers that were out of stock, and even their prices fluctuated by 100-200. I'll gladly send my invoice to you. The next disappointment was I had originally orded from xdp that showed it as backordered after checkout. The date it was expected was 7/17, and then it'd get moved a few more days once it was within 7 days of the 17th. I will say injectors direct got it to me fast. Thanks

      @@hairtrigger903 Thanks for sharing your feedback. Typically, all injectors and pumps we sell are sold on an exchange basis (with a core return required) even if a core return is not required by the manufacturer. Some manufacturers require cores to be returned on new parts, while others do not. We find it is easier and simpler to require a core on everything. Most customers have no use for their old CP4 pump (in many cases they are eager to be rid of it), and have no problem sending it in as a core. We do not require you to pay a core deposit up front in order to purchase a DCR conversion kit. We have the option available to place a temporary hold on a credit card until the core is returned to avoid paying any core deposit up front. To be clear - in the case of the @ssfueled DCR pump, S&S does not require a core return. That requirement comes from us, and we do what we can to work with our customers and make it easy for them. As you experienced, we have the the DCR kits in stock, ready to ship the same day, and are offering them for the best price available at $1990.00. If a customer has an extenuating circumstance that would require them to keep their old CP4 pump, we invite them to reach out to us and discuss what options we have available. We would be happy to work with anyone to help them get the parts they need to get their truck back on the road. Hope this clears up any confusion. If you have any additional questions, feel free to reach out to Daniel at 1-800-500-0980 or send an email to customerservice@injectorsdirect.com. Thanks!

      @SSfueled good luck clearing it up. "Most people are reluctant to send us a cp4" my cp4 is still working its worth more than the core, if something goes south on the dcr.

    Where are these DCR pumps manufactured? Are they made in China? 🇨🇳

    • @SSfueled
      @SSfueled  27 дней назад +1

      DCRs were originally made in China when we first released the Ford 6.7L DCR Pump Conversion. Since then, we have created a large enough market for the DCR in the USA that Stanadyne has built a DCR assembly line in Blythewood, South Carolina. While many of the components are still made in China, the assembly, end of line testing, and quality control are done in the USA. Even the pump bodies are forged in the USA. It's not uncommon for a global company to use a global supply chain. The main takeaway is that Stanadyne is a reputable company with locations all over the world. Since the DCR was originally developed for engines in the Asian market, that's where the original plant was built. Thankfully, a young engineer working in a US branch discovered that the DCR would fit in the valley of the 6.7 Power Stroke. That engineer insisted on working with S&S to develop a variant specifically for the 6.7 Ford and the rest is history. We have complete confidence in the DCR and will continue to grow the demand so that we can help bring even more manufacturing, than we already have, back to the USA. So you knew you had it in production and ready to go in your test truck after destroying your own cp4, uh, well isn't that interesting. I bet you didn't release this new pump to the market till after you recouped and made a ton of money off your preventative kit. Smart decision but deceptive I will add. Capitalism at its finest. You know how to keep em coming back, just pointing out the obvious

      Apologies if you perceived our decision to not disclose a new untested prototype, a year prior to release, as being dishonest. Our intention was to protect our reputation (in case it didn't work as planned) and to not show our hand to the competition. We are taking our time to thoroughly validate because we are an honest company that does not want to sell untested parts.

      Just ignore the original poster. Has no idea what he’s talking about.
      It takes time, money, and experience to develop stuff like this.
      This pump has been in use in the rest of the world and they’re making sure it 100% does what it’s supposed to before they put their name on it and sell it. I don’t blame them one bit.
