    The scripture that always hits me in the gut is. For where our hearts are, there is our treasure.
    What do we treasure the most in life?
    He must increase and we MUST decrease.

    "Seek First the Kingdom of God and his Righteousness and then all of these things shall be added unto you." There was another video I had watched where a man was shown heaven and had an encounter with Jesus. In his conversation with Jesus it was revealed to him that while Jesus enjoys blessing his followers the ultimate relationships are with those who seek Him for His nature (not what can just be provided to them). As humans we can only see the visible realm and it takes effort and focus to remember that all that we have will pass away the only thing that will remain is our relationship with Jesus.

    💯 agree with your message. I had to learn the hard way. Stuff doesn't bring me happiness, only God does. That's why I'm getting rid of a lot of my stuff. I look at it now and think how pointless it is to keep. I am only keeping the stuff I actually use and enjoy. The stuff that brings me stress and distraction from God has to go.

    Yes. “Success” must be redefined in the Kingdom of God. The “excellence” push in some Christian circles I think really misses the point. Especially because we fail. And I’ve failed a lot despite my best efforts.

    Amen brother. When I had everything I had nothing and when I was reduced to nothing I gained everything because I gained Christ. God's desire in Christ for us is to store up treasures in heaven. I worry few value heavenly things very much. It is in this sense that being literally poor can bring great glory to God as Jesus literally was.
    I think 2 Corinthians 6:10 also captures the spirit of what you're saying: "10 as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, yet possessing everything."
    1 Timothy 6:6-10 also resonates with your message: "But godliness with contentment is great gain, 7 for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world. 8 But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content. 9 But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils."
    Finally, Colossians 3:1-4 "If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. 3 For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory."
    Of course, God can bless with earthly possessions that can be both enjoyed and stewarded well for the kingdom. God wants more for us but I worry we don't desire the same things He does.

    God desire for his people to prosper. Prosper doesn't mean being rich but His people being "poor" as in living paycheck to paycheck or homeless doesn't bring him glory. Obviously, there are Christians in that position, and they need to ask God why they are in that position. so, God can lead them out of that so they can prosper. Also, God always has something better for you it might not be what you want but it is what you need and sometimes you're not ready for it, so God waits till you are.

    Mark 10:21.. Jesus point there was telling the rich man that he lacked ONE thing..nothing else matters if you lack this one thing (that thing being salvation through faith in Christ). Money and possessions are not a sin o and not is possessing them, but they should never take the place of God in our lives. The love of money is the route of all evil..Christ is the one thing we need

    • @SteveHewittMusic
      @SteveHewittMusic Месяц назад

      The scripture doesn't the love of money is the root of all evil, it says the love of money is the root of All kinds of evil.
      To love money in the first place isn't right. Money/capital, should be used for God's glory, in helping, sowing, and looking after.
      If Christ isn't first, something else will be. We are fallen/broken, hence why we need Jesus. We can't save ourselves, and the quicker we find that out, the better.

    I collect toy teapots, but I've already given 2 I didn't need and given them to my church nursery. Four more are on the way there. I don't even play with them all the time. Being a toy collector, I play with them sometimes but I'm spending time with God more. I would sadly be okay if all my toy teapots were taken away, but I have no plan of abusing them. I know that we should give to the needy, and that's why 2 toy teapots which are exactly like ones I already have were given to the church nursery. And while I would be okay with all of it being taken away, that's a sin on their part if they were to steal the toy teapots from me.

    That is nonsense. Of course we put Jesus and the Father first. But the abundant life that Jesus died for comes out of a relationship with Him. Its actually selfish to only think of yourself and refusing the the blessings that God already provided for his children. How can be a blessing to others if you have lacks in your life. You know that when God created Adam and Eve, everything on the earth belonged to them? Did God change? We must not spiritualize everything and use wisdom. Its all about the heart and intention.

    If this has been your experience, then you’re incredibly naïve about the generations before you. I was brought up to believe that if I had any personal interest, desire, passion, or dream, those things were to be absolutely destroyed. Because to have a desire for anything, is to act in rebellion against the kingdom of God. There are generations after generations of sincere Christians, primarily men, who have from an early age chosen to rip their heart out of themselves. Deeply believing that this is the way to live a crucified life. I’m 69 now and this has completely destroyed my life. I want to imagine that there’s some recovery from this, but I’m not at all certain there is. You need to either get your eyes opened or get another 20 years under your belt before you start talking about this stuff.
    Can’t you see? Don’t you understand? What you are advocating is that we adopt a life of profound poverty. Even beyond that, to shun any satisfying human relationship, such as marriage. It’s this exact thing that opened the door for the delusion of the word of faith, prosperity gospel.
    What’s actually scary, is that based on this, it’s entirely possible for suicide to seem rational.

    • @chrayllvesparot3767
      @chrayllvesparot3767 Месяц назад +8

      That isn't the point of the video though. The point isn't to shun these things, but to ensure that they don't become idols or take precedence over God. You can have these things, many of the figures in the Bible had these things, but the one thing they placed above all of these things was God. The issue you describe sounds much like the prosperity gospel except in the opposite direction. We need to strike a balance with God at the center of our lives.

      @@chrayllvesparot3767 I really think you need to go back and listen to this again. My comments stand……

    • @kevinkliesing3732
      @kevinkliesing3732 Месяц назад +2

      Respectfully, I'm pretty sure that is not what Isaac is advocating. He is saying that we should get rid of anything that keeps us from a deep, intimate relationship with God. If we give up those things for God, then He will replace those things in order to provide us with what we really need in order for us to walk with Him and help others know Him better. And for most people, I'm fairly certain that doesn't mean living in abject poverty or lacking any meaningful relationship
