    As an Artist it is hard to be an artist who expresses their faith in their art, especially as an expressionistic artist. Most secular art galleries don't take religious(Christian) art. Christians and churches don't always buy or support that type of art. I continue to hear God call me to creating this type of art. Thank you for your words of encouragement.

      Richard Bond this is true. I draw biblical cartoon illustrations and have noticed that few people find interest in it. It can be discouraging.

    • @ArtsEntertainmentMinistries
      @ArtsEntertainmentMinistries  4 года назад +4

      @@Preacher_Henrry Sad, but true. Even when the Bible Tract Society started putting illustrations in gospel tracts they had severe push back from some denominations simply because they had illustrations. We hope our teaching can start to illuminate the truth and free people up to embrace all forms of art.

      Richard, my pleasure! Thank you for taking the time to comment. Abstract art has a unique place in our culture and time, and can absolutely be used by God. it is very true about mainstream galleries not wanting religious art, but I think there is a growing curiosity. It is also true many Christians and churches don't get abstract art, but I think that is changing. My friend Mako Fujimura is probably a part of that.

      Indeed, some times we look back at old creative choices and realize they weren't up to the quality level we should be pursuing as artists, or they fail to fit the purpose for which God gave us our gifts. We need to embrace the freedom in the process, while still being faithful to consider the content and impact our art may have when we are editing/finalizing/producing our art.

    man I stay struggling with music because I want to make rap music but struggle with aspects of making secular music and gospel rap. It's hard to say this but I want to do both without projecting darkness and glorifying light since ik that my true purpose is the give the gospel to people. Your video is definitely helping me come to terms with aspects of creation. I just pray that I keep god at the center of my life and that my art isn't something that makes him angry or hurt because of me.

It was sad sometimes to see great artist that focuses in other form of art that does not align to God's teaching. Talent is important, along with pursuing spiritual maturity. Talent alone can lead us to pride in our gifts, instead of humility as we seek to honor God with our life and our art.

    • @ArtsEntertainmentMinistries

      The same as honoring God through your life. This looks different depending on whether you are working with an ensemble, in a large production, or in an instance where you have complete creative control.

    wow- expressing the struggle that artists face at the beginning of this video was encouraging-don't find a lot of material that addresses how your relationship with God intersects and informs the creative capacity He's placed in you...and, it often does feel like you're having to choose between "church" and "art"...i enjoy the privilege of getting to play on worship teams, but i also find it musically unsatisfying a lot of the time because of how limited your contribution can be in it because you're playing other people's stuff, etc...but, it's equally difficult to get people's support for work you do that is a "fuller" expression of what many years of creating/practicing, etc have brought out...i wish i knew how to reconcile a lot of this...

    • @ArtsEntertainmentMinistries
      @ArtsEntertainmentMinistries  4 года назад

      Steve, thank you for your response. You got it! We need to regain a healthy view of the arts within the church. As a jazz musician, I get so tired of all the 'cover tune' bands leading worship. The performance may be solid, but the creativity is not, and the option to use other talent in the pew never occurs - because the original music doesn't have a violin, clarinet, sax or flute. Pastors are understandably more fearful of risk in the area of worship so they often prefer the 'cover band' option. They don't realize that real players are bored with the worship the way a great speaker would be bored with a sermon that isn't fresh and new. Thanks for taking time to comment. Blessing.

    Hi! I'm currently a youth struggling my artstyle for God's glory. I want an artwork to glorify God and not only my own desires.

    • @ArtsEntertainmentMinistries
      @ArtsEntertainmentMinistries  Год назад

      Those are good concerns to have. Take some time to articulate and write down what your desires are, and what you mean by glorifying God....and then assess where your talents and skills are. Our online calling course can walk you through more of this. a-e-m.org/the-artists-calling-online-course. Glorifying God can be done in countless ways. It can be through art that explicitly talks about God, but it can also be done implicitly. Watch more of our videos and sign up for our newsletter to get regular blogs and devotionals to encourage you in your journey.

Art and sculptures is not of God.don't let the deceiver convince you otherwise read the whole commandment and you will understand and are willing to please God because he loves you and you love him. He will fill your life with other things that are more important , art will no longer mean nothing to you.
