- The Golden State Warriors are reportedly aggressively pursuing a trade for Utah Jazz Forward Lauri Markkanen. However, questions remain about what the Warriors would be willing to give up to bring Markkanen to the Bay. ESPN is reporting that the Dubs refused to deal Jonathan Kuminga in trade talks with the Clippers for Paul George. Been wanting him to be a Warrior for years. Such a crucial piece.
Warriors have needed a skilled big man for years, even Pascal would have been awesome last year. We need a big man but not giving up Kuminga.
Yes I know Kuminga has potential but is he ever going to be even as good as Lauri? I'm not downplaying Kuminga actually I'm really high on him but 7ft tall shooting 50/40/90 and being as skilled as Lauri is. There haven't been many players in the NBA like him... I'm just saying that there is a possibility that Kuminga will never reach that level...

Trading the teams two best young players for a guy coming with an expiring contract thus a possible 1 year rental would be insane. Trade Wiggins or Draymond and change, but they'd be crazy to trade young studs for Markkanen .Markkanen would be a nice addition, but not at that price.

Kuminga is a star in the making absolutely He will improve his ball handling continue getting stronger and more comfortable. Moody has what it takes to be 15-18 ppg plus his energy shooting slashing hard play remember Moses is just 22 & Kuminga is 21. Podz had a great rookie year and is looking to improve on that I live his grit his attitude plus being a fellow lefty I gotta love it I see Kirk Hinrich but better in his game. TJD like Podz had a good rookie year both will be on the USA select team which is super great for them so all the improvements along with Draymond staying on the court and showing the world that he can ball out without missing his big 3 member .GP stay healthy ..Curry will be go kill mode this year ..

This idea is all over the place for quite some time now, which could only mean that Kuminga and probably a couple of future first are involved, and of course the Warriors couldnt get their heads to say yes to it, otherwise, the deal could have been done already. Look at PG and Mikal Bridges. Although the price was too high, the parties involved got it done quickly. There are news now that Dubs is finalizing a sign in trade for Buddy Heild, and Kevin Know to join in the summer League. This is now looking very bad for Steph, almost kinda like Dame in his last days in Portland. We now have Melton, Anderson, and Heild. Where will that take you? No 11 in the west, maybe?
There's no way Warriors make all these trades for these vets not having a bigger deal in the works. Doesn't make sense to do all this knowing they'll be mid.

Now, if the Jazz would ask for 3 future first ( Gobert 4, Mitchell 5), then the Warriors will fail this deal. More so if they would want to include Kuminga on it. Lauri really become good the last two years , playing in a bad team with no proven playoff experience or performance, so is a good player but dont overpaid for him , remember he wasnt the main player in the trade that made him a Jazz, ,,
He may not have been the number one piece in that trade, but he's proven to be the best player coming from Cleveland. He's the best player on a team that is capable of making the play in if they don't make trades to get worse at the trade deadline each of the last 2 years.

Warriors moved away from this past season very title warriors on. You had minimum 4-5 shooters who shot 37% at volume of 5 3p attempts per game. And Boston had 6-7. Steve Kerr said this in his exit this season.
That right there is the big problem with Kuminga.
I just don’t see this trade happening at all. Maybe I’m wrong. But through all the smoke the Warriors are rebuilding. They have accomplished a great deal towards that end the last two years. You have to begin with managing the salary cap, and towards that end getting rid of Jordan Poole’s contract in exchange for Chris Paul’s 1 yr contract and then releasing him, and at the same time losing Klay in free agency, resets the books. Now they can move forward with their rebuild. I seriously doubt they go through all of that work just to trade away Kuminga, Moody, and a bunch of picks. The front office is smart, this trade proposal sounds like smoke, because it is genuinely not smart.

This guy David Locke don't know anything about basketball, trading a 21 years future superstar for a always injured lauri markkanen is dumb. Why so hype with this guy. He may be big, but who caress, if he don't play like a big, This is another Saric, with a bigger salary. This guy the most games that he had play in a season in the NBA is 66 games the only season that he was an all star, he is going to be 28 years this next season a big that is always injure is a gamble. But that is not the only downside. This guy may shoot the 3, but as a 7 footer, don't defend, don't rebound and don't pass the ball, a career 7.3 rebound per game as a 7 footer is really bad and 1.5 career assist. Kerr wasn't the guy that say to kuminga and Moody that to get more minutes, they need to rebound, pass the ball and defend? Lauri don't do any of that and as a 27 years is not like he is goin to be way better. Lauri is an overvalued player. The warriors didn't sign a 7 footer, that can shoot the 3 and is a better rebounder and way better passer and defender than lauri. Trading for Lauri is dumb. And is dumber to trade him for any of the young guys. Its like the warriors or Kerr don't trust any of the young guys that they draft. Who cares if Kuminga don't shoot the 3's, the best of all time Jordan was never a good 3 point shooter, kobe bryant was never a great 3 point shooter. Lebron is a career .348 3 point shooter and a career .736 FT shooter. Kevin Durant is a great shooter, but he rely a lot of his shots in jumpers. So who cares if kuminga is not e great 3 point shooter. And even then at 21 years he is not a bad 3 point shooter, he os a career .341 career 3 point shot, and he could be better if it was not because of kerr playing with Kuminga and Moody minutes and roles, that kill the confidence of any shooter, plus Kerr just want Kuminga to drive to the basket. But even after all this Kuminga and Moody are pretty good 3 point shooters and they could be better, plus they defend, something that Lauri doesn't do. Kuminga and Moody are going to have a better upside career than laur. Trading an injured lauri for any of the young guys would be a very dumb trade. Plus remember a 7 footer always injured at 27 years woth a big salary is a big gamble. Just look at Porzingis. A future trade for lauri, it could be a total desaster, plus what are you going to do with TJD, a great, defender, that can score around the basket and can rebound. Are you going to sit TJD? Who are going to defend in that roster? Who are lauri going to defend? Is he going to defend some of the elite bigs in the league? If a trade was for a guy like holmgren, a shooter, and a young big that can also rebound and block. That is the player that the warriors should be looking, tot Lauri.

I don’t understand the hype of this guy. Why is he worth so much? He’s 7 foot and averages half a block a game for his career, he’s an average rebounder for his size, misses 20-30 games a year, gets numbers on bad teams, would cost 50 mill a year , has logged in 0 minutes in the playoffs, and would take a haul to trade for him. We keep saying he’s a big that can stretch the floor but who cares if he’s 7 foot if he plays like a shooting guard? A big concern of mine is that he looks athletic offensively, but why doesn’t that translate defensively? Does he not care about defense?

The hype around him is he’s arguably the best plug in player in the league the way he moves off the ball especially in a Steve Kerr system where shooters are coming off screens it would be a match made in heaven also a great finisher plays above the rim and solid defender gotta watch more Utah games man this guy is legit and he’s pretty young so you would have him for the next like 8 years and the reason he only played 55 games this year is because Utah started tanking towards the end and just sat him lmao

I wouldn’t trade Kuminga for Lauri. I would only trade Kuminga for a major game changer such as Giannis, Jayson Tatum, or Jaylen Brown. And those players aren’t available.
They should have done it for PG-13 if you're in win-now mode as opposed to banking on potential. Without Draymond the Warriors were at the BOTTOM of the league defensively and with him they were top 5. It's of ZERO value to score 16 ppg if your opponents are getting 20. Plus, how can Kuminga be an effective 3 shooting 32% from deep? Paul George is a Legit 2-way player that averages 22 ppg. I haven't seen Markkanen play that much but as a Warrior fan I've seen plenty of Kuminga.
If I'm Steph Curry I'm pissed. If Kuminga is untouchable then just move on and trade Steph & Dray and see how that works out for the Warriors. JK, Podz & Moody are not the next Steph, Klay & Dray. Meaning NO championships!

Kuminga has better year 3 stats than Jaylen Brown had and JK was a year younger than Jaylen was in their year 3's.
I want Brandin Ingram. 6-7 young with hops and a three point shot. Mark8nan is one white guy too many on the starting rotation. He is a 7 footer who plays like he’s 6-7…so why not try for Ingram.
