@@noahknight4039 Because the bike was neutered from the factory in the ECU thanks to CARB/Canada noise restrictions. It's not a mechanical issue with the engine.
I was on the fence about flashing. I did a remote tune with Moore Mafia and the bike is so much better. Definitely worth it. The bike stock has a big dead spot between 7and10K. Thats all smoothed out. I recorded and posted on RUclips few passes with the flash and Yoshimura slip on. The bike sounds so good! The bike has plenty of power on the highway. You really have to get used to using the power from 10k rpm through 15K rpm. That is where the engine wants to be.
Awesome bro. I am years off touching my 40th bikes. To me at my age and being lazy warranty and peace of mind is King. Reason why I didn't buy the te300 and went with ktm was 30day warranty vs 6mths (Husqvarna dealership has always looked after me up until the te300. At almost $20k and a warranty worse than buying Chinese pit bikes was never going to sit well with me ($80k spent on ninjas this month alone and $46500 spent at dealership with the shit warranty. So you can imagine I am not happy with that and now I bought a bike from other dealers (first time since 21 I didn't buy from local dealer but they looked after letting me Park my 40th anniversary collection so I really can't complain or hold grudges)
Thanks for your post...I really want this bike for the awesome sound. I'm a NEWISH rider and am thinking of getting this and doing the FLASH mods after about 1 year as I don't want to rush into more power. is this reasonable? I don't think a regular 400 can compare in sound even with a modified exhaust---still has that lawnmower sound.
This bike is a niche within a niche. The ONLY reason someone would buy such an expensive small displacement bike is for the revs. Buying this bike and not unlocking would be crazy.
I had my 2023 zx6r flash by 2WDW and wow the power is amazing. Couldn’t agree more to get your bike tuned if the funds are available and get full exhaust too bike sounds awesome
I flashed ECU, also went with Vcyclenut. Agree with you on his customer service, and at the time, got the Graves slip-on cheaper through him than anywhere else. I tracked mine bone stock and then again about 300 miles after the flash. Night and day differences. Obviously, same for street, just more noticeable on the track. Have fun. Stay safe.
I bought a ZX4rr 2 months ago and got full power here in the UK and it goes like holy crap, too fast for the roads over here and can keep up with a lot of other bikes on the Twisties and of course a lot of fun, so have it flashed and enjoy buddy .....👍😀🇬🇧
such good content. I have a Suzuki GSX-S1000GT and V-strom 800 right now and really wanting to go to one bike and this might be it. My favorite sports car of all time is the Miata (had one of every generation, a FM turbo, and 3 spec Miatas) so thinking this might be the "Miata" of motorcycles? Fun to drive/ride a slow vehicle fast, especially if it handles and behaves playfully and feels well sorted.
probably going to use mine to learn on then flash after the warranty expires. actually not bad for a beginner that it's a little detuned and then still possible to get more power when you're ready but I can see how frustrating it would be to spend so much and not get the full potential.
I have 3 bikes they are all flashed , the ZX6R is stupid fast and unlike the ZX4RR can't really use alot of it without the idea of jail time in the back of my head !
How many HPs do you think you could gain by doing a full exhaust, air cleaner, new stacks, and the shorty, with the flash? Would it still max out at 75hp?
About the only thing to consider for the ECU re flash would be the higher likelihood that you’ll end up BECOMING part of that crime scene, like we see at 10:04
What is top speed in first gear and second gear? My 1280cc buell is about 60?? 6500rpm Rev limit. 😢 but it is a torque monster not a race bike. So it works out perfect for what it is. I do wish it sounded like that bike though....
This is similar tro the cbr250rr from the 90s. Engine always screaming but not too much speed or acceleration. For road use, 50hp is more than ok in alight bike solo riding.
I commute on mine, about 15-20 miles on both highways and city streets. I really don’t feel like it needs the extra 20 hp. I also have a 701 Vitpillen with 70+ hp at the rear wheel and 360lbs wet weight, so I have an idea of what it would be like with the +20hp. My main concern would be voiding not only the original warranty but also the additional 2years extended warranty. With the repots of issues with the engine I really don’t think it’s worth it to me at this time.
If you consider the price of the bike plus a full system exhaust and ECU flash to end up with a couple more hp than an MT-07 and way less torque than a MT-07, it’s simply not worth it. Plus it weighs like 15 lbs more than an MT-07. It sure sounds good though and will be more unique and maintain value better.
I dont think everyone buys a bike because it's "worth it". Imho it's about the experience each bike has or can have. I mean I have 2 liter bikes, a few 600cc bikes and my 2 4RRs and ALL of my bikes were tuned by 2wheeldynoworks and the most fun I have are my 4RRs. An MT-07 is a decent bike, but that 2 cylinder does not sound nearly as intoxicating as the 4RR..To each their own but if it puts a smile on your face, bro trust me, it IS worth it! 😉
Yeah. How often do you get up to around 10k? I can pass other cars by dropping down a couple of gears. Going highway speed is just 6th gear about 8k. It's also cheaper on gas I would think keeping it stock. I wish it had the 3rd generation quick shifter were you don't have be of the throttle to down shift. I've had mine for a year and still haven't had it flashed and really don't know if I will. I'm enjoying it great now. I've thought about getting it done this winter but I might talk my self out of it. Does anyone who have had it flash notice any difference in gas milage?
My motorcycle is my only transportation. I have a BMW r1100RT . When I need a truck I rent one. It just isn't economical due to gas price or need to get to a location in a short time (traffic) to be transporting via car. The car is the luxury item! Gas price and the cost of being stuck in traffic isn't worth it. I live in California. You talking about two wheeled transportation as a want and not a need is you projecting. If you say well cars are more practical. Look at everyone driving a car. They are usually one person in a big vehicle where they aren't carrying contractor supplies / tools or anything remotely big where they need a car. This car need thing is literally because we have a car culture in this country. When I go shopping everything I need to carry including people I fit on my bike and it works in all weather. When I need more than my bike I rent a uhaul truck or a van. Because then I am pulling a trailer plus using the truck. Cars are financially impractical due to high insurance, expensive maintenance, and bad fuel mileage.
I have the same bike and am planning to get it flashed next riding season. I’m not sure if you’ve seen or heard of multiple of these bikes having oil leaks and other problems so I’m kinda skeptical on getting this thing flashed and then the dealer voiding the warranty because of it. I know you mentioned that it can be reflashed to stock but even then it’s still a risk. Also I’ve read on some forums that upgrading the clutch springs helps with some clutch slippage due to the flash. I enjoyed the video and will be interested to see your process with this bike!
To each his own, but I would have gone with the ZX6R. This coming from a guy that owns a Z900 and a ZX10R. Regarding ear plugs get yourself some Axil Xcor Pro earbuds. They are pricy at $299.00 but they do go on sale $100 off pretty often. Foam ear bud to seal off the ear canal from wind and noise, Bluetooth so you can have your music or gps if you want and most importantly active sound mode at 3 levels to hear normally or even better than normal while having active noise cancellation above 85 decibels. TLDR: best ear bud for ANY loud hobby and replaced everything else I own. Allows you to have normal conversations and save your ears
If I wanted a fast bike I would have bought one. Not sure if I will flash mine. I would rather swap the ECM. I love this bike. And finding a stock zx4rr in 20yrs will be impossible. My DL1000 is derestricted through the gear gizmo. If I want to spin a tire at 70mph.....the 20 yr old adventure bike will do it. I would probably use TST. But so far I am happy with a completely stock bike. That said one dyno report said the air filter and slipon was substantial. Even though the graph is lean. Such an awesome bike. My Sunday bike!!!

After the 2years is up then I'll look into upgrading my girls. At my age (44 tomorrow) peace of mind is King and the main reason why I only buy brand new bikes/cars (plus used price is ridiculous and far too close to new minus peace of mind. My ninja 500 40th 2100km and it's been in dealership twice for service and chain tension adjustment. Tomorrow it's also getting heated grips fitted by Kawasaki so my warranty can't be voided if something goes wrong
Some guys are throwing a rod at cruising speed with relatively low revs, so it’s not necessarily tune-related. The jury is still out if it’s a problem on the ‘24s.
300 dollhairs for 20 horses? Nobrainer imo
Yeah for the money it’s a nice upgrade. People spend more than that on intakes and exhausts for a car and don’t get an extra 20hp most of the time.
