As a Guitar player now in his mid 50's i grew up when these types of amps did not exist. All we had was the pignose and some other really cheap crappy small amps like Univox, gorilla, etc for practice. This and amps like it amaze me because had these been around back in 1981 my practice would have been even more fun and sounded much better, seriously for $150 this amp is a real bargain!
I picked this amp up along with a Shecter Diamond Series Omen 6 Extreme for my birthday. I cannot express how happy I am with the purchase, I love the guitar but the amp more so, messing around with the different effects and using it with the application on the computer makes playing a ton of fun. I have been playing for the past 4 to 4½ years now approaching my early 20s, needless to say I am excited to see newer ages of amps if I get to hit my 50s
I found this video while searching for info on the Mustang LT25. I wanted to put in my due diligence before pulling the trigger on buying one. Your video sealed the deal for me -- Amazon Prime will have it on my doorstep, tomorrow. After I watched this video, I assumed you were a guitar/amp guy so I explored your channel to see what other goodies you've uploaded. Dude! I love your "Teardown" theme and the wide variety of things you cover! Your videos are very good quality and get right to the point. You've certainly earned my gratitude and subscription. Cheers!
I love my Fender Mustang LT-25. The performance and features to cost ratio is incredible. I think it will keep a lot of new guitarists interested and want to keep playing.
Just bought the amp today, just wanted something decent sounds great, this amp checks off all the boxes, I did try the new Blackstar ID Core 3 I returned it , that bad , it was brutal, but Fender has a winner with this amp,
I've had a lot of practice amps for home use from all the major companies, and the LT25 is one of my favorites. The sound quality at the low volume level that I play at is superb, and the sound quality of the recording direct from USB is awesome, as is that from my THR10C. I'm actually surprised how nice the LT25 looks inside, with quite beefy filter caps in the power supply, and a surprisingly nice speaker with a beefier magnet than expected. I wish guitar amp builders would learn from stereo speaker builders and line the inside walls to eradicate standing waves and reflections that cause audible problems. Other than that, it's a really first class little amp, especially for $150.
I'll gig with this all day everyday just turn down the volume it doesn't need to be crank to get that push full effect it's all in the algorithm and your fingers. I just make this with an SM57 and run it through my PA it sounds f****** excellent. Also , get a telecaster
Just a minor correction the red adhesive around the screws are to let Fenders technicians know if the amp has been tampered with or serviced. They are a seal that should not be broken Or the warranty becomes void.
Blown away by this little amp. Was able to get Hendrix and stevie sounds. Really it covers every genre and sounds like a Tube amp if you tinker with the settings. You can create so many different channels of Custom sounds. Unfortunately, it is not made well. I jammed out hard on it for a couple months. woke up this morning to fire it up and it wont power on. Can power on the connect to app and update but no screen and no sound. I did buy it used from guitar center, but these are relatively new amps and should last for many years. Apparently, these cant be fixed by experts and its not worth it anyways. I think its$150 brand new at this time. I paid $90 used. If you buy get it with warranty because you will need it. Such a shame because this is an affordable monster of an amp. If I would have had this growing up...
Love this amp the power chip burn out in the amp can find the part number because is burn U403 in the board I try to take pictures in this video, I contacted fender and no luck.
Ordered today through your affiliate link you should get a bit from the sale. Long time subscriber since I found you while looking for a HF generator teardown. Hope all going well on your vw beetle project Remember the fender tone app will allow you to connect the amp to your pc to edit the tones now
Fantastic video man! i was wondering if theres a way to make this amp portable by adding battery bank, looks like there's plenty of spacd inside too so was wondering if that would be feasibile. could be a cool project what do you think?
Please let me know how you removed the back off this amp. I wanted to upgrade the speaker. I removed all the screws on the back but it just wouldn't come off! I tried screwdrivers, paint scrapers wedged in the corners...pliers pulling on the pins on the socket. My guess is that glue has been used as well as the screws. I even tried going through the handle at the top but to no avail. Forcing anything will just take chunks out of the mdf. I have a nice jensen 8" waiting to go in there but I'm faced with Fort Knox. Any ideas would be gratefully received!
Thanks for the video. I found it really interesting. One thing that makes me curious - and perhaps you know the answer since you have unveiled all the amp's secrets - is that on the backside of it we can see an indication of a universal tension/frequency input. Something like 110-240V, 50-60Hz. On the other hand, in the manual we read that the specifications changes from region to region (Europe, Asia, USA and so on and so forth). It seems that it has been build to opperate according to a given tension/frequency inputs (that is what is indicated in the manual) but this seems to be in disagreement with what is actually written on the back side of the amp. Could you give me please your opinion on that, since you have saw it from inside? Again, thanks a lot for your video.
Too bad they used particle board and MDF on the cabinet. Fender says they use 5 ply plywood on the Acoustasonic 15 and 40 watt amps. Why cheapen out on other amps?
I don't know why I'm surprised that amps are computerized now, but I am and of course they are. Last time I bought an amp was 2006 which doesn't feel as long ago as it actually is
HELP I have this amp and recently is starting making a rattle sound when I play low notes and play loud, I don't know what's wrong with it or how to fix it, someone please lmk what's wrong with it and how to fix it please.
May I have a question, as I ve seen from the backside of the amp . I see power input is 100-240v. Is that mean this amp applicable to universal voltage?
Would this work for vocals? I have a keyboard with onboard speakers and want something to use a mike through, just for in-home mainly. Would this allow vocal and keyboard?
I was hoping to see the voltage on the secondary side of the powerfully to see if I could connect a lithium battery. To use this amp remotely you need an 85 Watt AC supply. That means a HUGE battery and inverter to run 220v outside etc. Crazy amount of power this thing used. Anyone know if its easy to connect say 12 volts on the inside of the transformer etc?
I think i don't have a computer and im not gonna buy one just to update the firmware. Let me borrow your computer. Other than that it sounds good enough
Can you take my Wife apart to see what makes her so Merciless? Is there like a Bias switch in there somewhere to fix that? I tell ya' I get NO RESPECT.
You should show us how to update the firmware, am I the only one that thinks that makes a ton of sense since that was the biggest negative about the amp, and how much did you pay for it??
Fender has been making amps forever.. they know how to do it, and balance profits with warranty repairs. Having said that the speaker seems to be the weak point, but this is not a gigging amp... for Bedroom practice I am sure it's fine.
Honestly this is my favorite little practice amp. It does the fender sounds well. It's not a fender tube amp and it's 150 bucks. I don't use the presets I just pick the amp and effects I use with my normal gigging rig. It serves it's purpose well.
The fact that you completely skip over the little things (that someone with only little knowledge of this stuff doesn’t know how to) sucks. Im at the point of removing the wires at 1:37 and can’t figure it out!!!
You know why they put the oldest firmware on the amp? So now you have to log in to the Fender website and they install a shitload of tracking cookies on your computer and double their profit on that amp.

I've been playing over 50 years. Got my LT25 2 dayis ago and I'm blown away! Hands down best combo amp I've ever used. Bye bye pedalboard mess
Looks great to me. Thanks for letting me see inside without having to mess with the one I bought that should arrive soon.

I expect they could lose the speaker, have a 1/4 inch jack and lower the price. Most will use headphone anyway?!
this is very details, love it!
Interesting video thanks for making this for us
Thanks for watching
Fender LT25 owner's manual, page 20, states this amp has an 8 ohm speaker.
It looks a lot like a Celestion Eight15
Dude must not have a multimeter I guess..
Wouldn’t a 10” speaker fit?
Nice video man! Very interisting to see the inside of my practice amp! By the way I think Fender nailed it with this small amp!
About to buy this amp for sure now !! Thanks
It even has a built in ashtray on top.
Lame
The handle scoop doubles as a bowl for picks (plectrum).
lol 😂
Awesome video, thanks for showing the nitty gritty of this amp!!
Suggestion for loudspeaker: I changed for Jensen C8R, 8 ohm. For me sounds much better, more mids and high tones - not so bright.
How many watt is Jensen C8R 8 ohm?
Looks like the build quality is pretty decent for the price. Nice practice amp!!!

Dude, excellent video. Great information to know.
It’s really nice that the power supply in internal and physically separate for noise reasons. If there is a bass guitar version of this, I’d get it.
Fender has a bass version called rumble lt25
@@dsztu They must use the same main circuit board cause at 6:49 upper left you can see the "Mustang" box is ticked while the "Rumble" box is unticked.
For $150 the build looks very impressive! 👍
I have this amp and absolutely love it
Great amp, sounds very good and lots of features for 150
A fun amplifier tear-down is a Peavey Austin 400. It has many usable/reusable parts (including the cabinet).
Wow, what a great video!
My power switch snapped off, gonna try to disassemble it to see if I can glue a little lever to be able to turn it on or off
Mine did too!!! So annoying...
I thought I was the only one

I’ve got a lovely green LT25.Looks way better than the black standard amp.
Awesome video, learned a lot!
How did you get the back cover off with out destroying it? Ive got all the screws out, but they must have some kind of glue holding it in there
Wouldn’t a 10” speaker fit?
I am thinking a 12"
Waiting for Fender to come out with a modernized amp-in-case like Peavey did with the T-15 in 80's and Silvertone did in the 60's.
Sweet tear down. I'm not sure why but I was expecting more components inside.
Sometimes there's not much to an amp.
Love this amp the power chip burn out in the amp can find the part number because is burn U403 in the board I try to take pictures in this video, I contacted fender and no luck.
Good to know it's a fair build just think it should be easier to update.
I love to take mine and make a guitar case/amp combo.
i have one and like it alot, sounds more then great.

Yes. I've used it to make some tube-style gain presets. Thanks for sticking with the channel. Unfortunately I haven't worked on the Beetle in months.
I’m looking for a tutorial on replacing the switch any videos out there?

Badass video.
Considering changing for thr lt40. Only revoew I found was a reddit guy saying lt40 is better

Great amp I own it. No complaints and have not updated the firmware yet
Where do I get the cable? There isn’t a link on your description
I forgot to include the link to the cable. I just fixed it, so the link is there now.
I'm convinced this amp will sound killer with a better speaker. Any suggestions on a good replacement? Are these FRFR?
The fub requires some additional pedals to fix
What do I think? I think they better put Japanese electrolytic capacitors in it.
Can the firmware be updated via smartphone? (I don't have a puter)
Too bad they used particle board and MDF on the cabinet. Fender says they use 5 ply plywood on the Acoustasonic 15 and 40 watt amps. Why cheapen out on other amps?
how did you manage to get the back to come off?
How do you update the firmware on the fender lt25 amp?
I don't know why I'm surprised that amps are computerized now, but I am and of course they are. Last time I bought an amp was 2006 which doesn't feel as long ago as it actually is
HELP
I have this amp and recently is starting making a rattle sound when I play low notes and play loud, I don't know what's wrong with it or how to fix it, someone please lmk what's wrong with it and how to fix it please.
power transistors... where
May I have a question, as I ve seen from the backside of the amp . I see power input is 100-240v. Is that mean this amp applicable to universal voltage?
Yes if it says so.
Very informative - thank you sir Does it have a noise supressor inside ?
On the chassis it says 15 watts at 4 ohms. So this isn’t really a 25 watt amp. Hmmm.
Would this work for vocals? I have a keyboard with onboard speakers and want something to use a mike through, just for in-home mainly. Would this allow vocal and keyboard?
How does the red adhesive come off?
What would the difficulty level be on adding an effects loop to this?
Impossible
Can you get the 65 twin reverb sound on this model?
Is there a way to fix the usb port on the amp?
i just moved my amp and dropped it, now it keeps shocking me everytime i play my guitar, how can i fix this
Where’s the amplifier chip?
Any idea what amp chip is in the lt25? I'm trying to find out if it can safely power a 4 ohm speaker

Nice for the money
The speaker is a Celestion... I don't know the model.
I just bought a Voice of The World 8" speaker. I love my LT 25, but the speaker kinda sucks imo
How many watt and ohm is Voice of the World 8 inch speaker?
From what I can see on other 8 in voice of the world's it's 60 watt 8 ohms. It's been a long time since I looked at mine
@@ChadVader24 thanks a lot

When you took the protective foil off from the lcd is there another screen potector on the lcd?
Nice video.
I have fuckin' subscrived!
Cheers from Portugal 🍺🤘🇵🇹
Speaker looks like an unbranded Celestion Eight15
Subbed!
Do you know if the Fender Mustang III 4-button Footswitch works with this?
Does anyone know the bit depth of AD/DA conversion? I mean the bit resolution i can expect with USB interfacce for record ing. Thank you!
You should show us how to update the firmware, am I the only one that thinks that makes a ton of sense since that was the biggest negative about the amp, and how much did you pay for it??
That speaker alone makes me think they moved their manufacturing to China. 😱
The amp is made in China. You can see it on the back label of the amp when I'm talking about the cord.
22/05/2020 means he is a Gemini

Firmware is hit or miss. If you want great sound, invest in a twin reverb and some pedals. The Boss Katana line might interest you.
You know why they put the oldest firmware on the amp? So now you have to log in to the Fender website and they install a shitload of tracking cookies on your computer and double their profit on that amp.
