WILL IT CHUG? Who cares anyway...
Of course it will if you try hard enough!
I care sir
Sad Ola
Ola Englund hey you should spend more time with this amp bud it’s quite a good practice amp once you know your way around it,also there is a global Eq that totally changes the whole we of the amp 👌
I care a lot. Also, what does your logo mean?
Please call your signature amp THE CHUG NORRIS
Ivan Ravaioli chug norris? You got my support on that.
Yess Chug Norris. Good call sir 👊
@@ayyveezee2079 Even better than Chug Norris! xD
How about "The Good, The Bad & The Chugly"?
LMAO
This dude can make your refrigerator chug.
With the growing popularity of smart refrigerators, I don't see anything stopping a technically savvy person from loading an amp sim on one. Find a way to connect a guitar and speaker, and voila! Chugs from your refrigerator!
Pretty sure that Marshall fridge chugs !
@@tenhundredkills Yeah it doesn't count if you have to modify it like that... The whole point of this series is that he can make it chug out of the box in the littlest time.
@@TheEchelon It was a joke, dude.
r/wooosh
I was gonna like this comment... then I saw it has 420 likes. I’ll leave it how it is ;)
Ola- "I think this is meant for newer guitar players"
Also Ola- been playing for years and can barely figure out how to get it to work because it's practically rocket science
This series is more helpful than any other series I’ve ever seen on RUclips. All that matters is if it chugs.
Fender will be sending you angry emails shortly lol
I'd much rather have a Ford GT40
who wouldnt?
Honda NSX baby! 🤘😂
@@H_A_R_M the joke went over your head.
Rockstar2207 it didn’t, it was just my lame attempt to “troll”. 🙈
@@H_A_R_M fair enough it was pretty lame. Lol
Some say that the timer is still going to this day...
Sometimes the face Ola makes when considering the sound he's found has me wondering whether he's super blown away by the sound or completely confused and lost or hating what's happening
"Oh Bluetooth! Okay there's a bunch of shit on this"
Exactly my thoughts on a bluetooth amp
I wouldn’t ever use it as a primary amp but that thing seems badass with all of the options. I’m kind of thinking about getting one
Got one in the end?
@@bwrdbb that’s what I’m wondering
practice amp maybe?
It sounds better as you explore the amp more and learn the system better. But there are better amps for price@@findinghumorthruitall
Jeremy Clarkson voice:
This is the most complicated amplifier.................
In the world...........
abc123 that played in a perfect clarkson voice in my head thanks to your use of periods and a large space. Well done.
I think it sounds too fake and no matter how he tried, it kept sounding pretty similar all the time.
But really what happened is he told the producer to get a gt40 but the got a Fender rather then the Ford car
Well... How hard can it be?
That demo had SPEEEEEEEDDDDDDDDDDD
0:47 Most brutal growl I've ever heard. I need to recreate this sound and record it over my metal tracks.
It takes a minute to get used to the amp set up and controls but once you know it it's actually pretty good.
I'm not even interested a single bit by that lagom amp, but I watch because of the Swede power!
Allt som är svensk ska vara lågom.
Burped unexpected in sync with your burp. Now that’s fan connection.
I have the GT40 and I love it, but the ability to download presets from the "cloud" is amazing in my opinion!
This amp is way better than people give it credit for. Its plenty loud to practice with and to me it sounds pretty good. I dont know why it gets so much hate. I just dont think people want to take 5 minutes to figure out how it actually works, and Ola just proved that.
Is it free
You should chug a beer if it doesn't chug? Burp* \m/
rjmcdade 🍻
Yes!!
Drink responsibly, folks.
Bought the gt100, takes a bit to get used to. With some time you can make it sound decent. The bluetooth and headphone Jack is a great combo to have.
You are the best youtuber in terms of guitar and music
I actually love this amp, super fun to mess around with
Looks like you'd spend more time turning knobs than actually dialing in a good sound
@@xb5883 I mean, it is a Modelling Amp, so yeah, you'd do that more often.
@@xb5883 It took him 30 seconds to find the sound he wanted. Have you ever owned a device made in the 21st century? Man guitarists complain a lot
I have this amp and you actually can get decent sounds out of it after some work, but it's definitely a clean focused amp...
Most of fender amp is i think.
I own the old mustang model and what piss me off is that the tone /presets forum is dying and fender won't take care of it anymore.
All of these complicated, non-user friendly amps really stifle creativity. Let me plug in, turn a couple knobs, and start the living room on fire.
The mustang amps are very user friendly once you get through the two minute learning curve. Just need to practice some patience.
got a LT40S and i think its pretty good just for in the room playing
Blackstar Fly 3 Mini Amp. For a 3watts amp, definitly chugs!
I got one of these yesterday, it allowed me to play these sounds on a STRAT.... it's impressive
I totally get these amps aren’t for everyone, cos a lot of guitarist are impatient and wanna just plug in quickly and get the sound you want. Like anything once you get to know the layout of the mustangs user interface of parameters built into these amps they’re not difficult to use, it is possible to set up a desired tone pretty quickly when you know what you want. Having various amp & cab models plus stomp, modulation, delay, reverb FX built in, you have a vast range of possibilities, obviously if you willing to work with your gear, setup & design the tones you want, mainly your favoured primary tones, it’s simple, for me I’d have probably 3-4 setup tones I’d use then be stomp individual FX when needed. For the money you’ve got majority of effects you’d really ever need, I get many prefer individual separate pedal FX which is every player’s personal preference and everyone’s different, but if you want it it’s all their under one hood.
You either love or hate, willing to work with it or not. Suitable for some peoples needs others can’t be arsed and find it complicated, which to me is laziness and deep diving into parameter pages on amps, synths, technology, studio production gear is all part of the fun and enjoyment when writing, recording, producing, engineering a track, sound synthesis of any instrument is part of the creativeness process coming up with your own tunes and developing your own tones that give you your own personal and bands style and tones that makes it you. I definitely never set out or want to sound like any other band or musicians I like or have gone before. I’ve worked and played with so many musicians in the past that only play in the style of Stevie Ray Vaughan or Hendrix, copy exact guitar, amp, pedals and even sand guitar straps they used!!! To me that’s boring and is nothing original.
That was awesome timing, this got uploaded right as I opened RUclips
The mids are likely controlled similarly to how they are controlled on the previous generation of Mustangs. You hold down "Exit" and turn the treble knob to adjust mids on the Mustang 2/3/4/5. I'd guess they have something similar on the GT40.
Might not have achieved a massive tone in this short video, but I thought the functionality of the Amplifier seemed very cool.
Ahhh when Ola belches, it brightens my day with sunshine and metal!
I'm convinced that "will it chug" is the most informative gear review out!
Me too
Same
Please say, “three free things we think theoretically theologians think thespians think!” Then end it with your signature exclamation, “I must say.”
That's racist.
@@apanapandottir205 You have no idea what racist means
I have the GT100 and I love mine, yes its not really use friendly but once you get the hang of it the tones you can get out of it are amazing. I use it mostly for my clean tones but also have a ton of dirty channels. Would not recommend it if you're trying to emulate a half stack, the distortion is good, but nothing beats the real deal.
Kind of impressed by all the different abilities the tiny little amp had although most of the time millions and millions upon millions of sound options are usually pretty useless especially if you're a very strict parameter guitar player I think I might use one or two abilities
I have a GT40....Its designed to work with your phone. And honestly it sounds great. This vid doesnt do it jusitce.
It’s annoying as fuck to have to use a computer or your phone to dial in your amp, but I agree. I still love my Mustang 3 V2.
Yeah with these kinda amps “owned a mustang v2, amplifi, helix rack and a spark” you have to dedicate some time out of your day to figure out how to get nice tones
I also have a GT40 and it does in fact sound great. I used it in my school talent show and everyone could hear it great as some people told me. Some even said it was TOO loud. It also has many presets and 90 blank ones for you to create your own sounds.
I bought this amp - I rate it at 7.7 out of 10 .
I mean I really liked the tone right off the jump before you said “done”. That’s a great amp.
We need a follow-up video with Ola throwing this amp off the roof of the Hyatt House in L.A. ala John Bonham and a TV set.
Hi Ola, a 'middle' tone knob does not really add much:
A low mid sound ('scooped') can be achieved by increasing lo and hi, while reducing volume.
A mid focused spund can be achieved by reducing lo and hi, while increasing volume.
😉
it's more farting than chugging to be honest....
I guess the point of these videos are to show new players interested in playing metal how easy it can be to get a useable metal tone from these amps. Seems like he was struggling so if it was me i'd look at another amp instead :)
Just like Atif said. This is a heads up for new players because I think now that Ola owns a guitar company, he understands that generation z isn't buying guitars and music schools are giving less and less lessons than they used to. This is kinda serious when you think about it. Kids aren't picking up guitar as much as they used to. This is actually pretty dangerous for music. You might think thats silly. But guitar playing gear heads will fucking die sooner than the masses of generation z kids.
So incentivizing is super important. In this economy, when the industry gives the impression that you need to spend 6 grand to start sounding metal. Kids will go "my parents cant afford that" and go back to playing fortnite and focus their interests on becoming a twitch streamer instead. Now more than ever, we need cheap amps that sound ok, easy to learn lessons, and cheap guitars that stay in tune and sound good. Otherwise. Guitar based music goes away and gets replaced by a plugin.
I fully agree dude. We need small and cheap amps. But I hink there are better options than this one for metal tone.
More burps than chugs
Marshall MGDFX 250 combo is the fart champ
Legend as always. Blackstar next?
YESS that animation was sick. Aimmm gonna sayy OLA England is the bast.. ya know.. forever.. BUUUURP
I own Mustang GT200 and initially I didn’t like the tone at all. It took some time messing with the EQs and all the settings and now I’m able to get the tone that I want. But just hooking it up and playing is not what it is designed for.
And I play Schecter Sun Valley 7 string through it and it does have a good bass unlike what most comments say.
LOL! Ola, “I feel your pain” 😎 about “tricky control interfaces”: I have, use, and love a Zoom 606 pedal, but you really have to like programming 💩 to get the most out of it!
And yes, It Will Chug, if I tell it to 😁🎸😎! One of the amp-models built into it is super-scritchy and over-the-top, perfect for Ola-type metal. I would describe it as sounding like the old Randall Warhead.
(I never use that setting, though - I’m a fossil, generally wanting to emulate a Fender or a Marshall)
I love it that you let the timer run until the end of the video.
I rarely subscribe. Your burp swooned me. I’m a fan. Keepin on chuggin, bro
Glad to see you're feeling better, Ola!
This is like asking if a Toyota Camry will get you to the grocery store
Hi ola could you please make a “will it chug” on a vox vt20x please?
I have VT40x , so i also want to see how it fairs in hands of Ola.
Rachit Bhengra I try to get a distorted Daron malakian tone but when I play loud I lose my gain
@@stevenseven6626 20 watts is enough i guess , but in my practice sessions this 40 watt hunker just keeps up well with no loss in gain . Do make patches with a laptop/phone...?
Rachit Bhengra I do use the tone room software to get my tone but do you have any chuggy badass tone settings for this amp?
@@stevenseven6626 are you on Facebook or Ola Englund discussion group if so we should get in contact . So we can help each other in a better way.
I enjoy it best because you are having fun and are tallented, keep making great videos maybe guitar run downs to
Hey Ola. got your signed fear CD's today in the mail all the way to NZ and i gotta say. It is amazing. Caligula is pure brutal. I love it. Come to NZ so we can drink coffee and play my guitars and relax to some metal slug man. Can you try the Blackstar 150watt ID core amp. not the head the guitar stereo amp. Pleaseeeee!
I've got the 100 watt version of this amp,.and while the clean sounds and effects are really great, it's high gain sounds are pretty lacking.
I've got a Champion 100 and it's just wonderful for blues or classic rock. But the high gain channels... not so good. It takes pedals really good though.
@@krisztian-bogdancisar3368 agreed, the lower to mid gain sounds are pretty tasty. It also responds pretty well to playing dynamics and guitar volume.
can you combine 2 effects with that amp or no? (talking 'bout gt100)
@@nueto8864 oh yeah, you can chain quite a few of them together, and in almost any order you want as far as I know. Ive never gotten too scientific about it but using too many or a certain type of effect seems to lock some of them out in any given preset, but its only happened to me a few times. Its quite versatile.
@@HearthVader damn, definitely buying that.
2:13 if you have something else plugged into the AUX like drum track or something the master will make that louder / quieter but the volume will affect the guitar only
I dont know if the GT is way too different from the LT (looking both of these side to side they almost look exactly the same), but I own a LT25 and volume is for the preset only, master is for the speaker (or headphones) but only for the guitar signal, and if you connect your pc or phone or keyboard via aux, master does not affect the aux output at all (i've tried), the aux volume is only affected by adjusting the volume on your device (pc or smartphone or keyboard or rhytm box, etc.) so thats cool. Still is kind of a bummer that no middle noob, the LT50 does have it, but anyway
1:38 He says Master James hedfield says MASTER MASTER!
Yeaaah
Ez egy nagyon jó kis erősítő. Rengeteg dolgot ki lehet hozni belőle, de talán meg kellene tanulni használni mielőtt videót csinálsz!
I own this little amp for travel and it’s really fun to play around with.
This thing really makes me feel like "do I look like I know what a jpeg is? I just want a picture of a god dang hot dog!"
what a natural open detailed midrange this amp got
I have the Mustang GT 100, and they have a 200 as well. The software is easy to use, and you can use your phone or tablet with the Fender Tone app.
Hey man! Much love from Texas! Just wanted to say how badass your channel is and can’t wait for your new album to drop! Keep Chuggin!🤘🏻
World record chug test right here ,,,, Thank you Ola !!!! Wow
Legend has it that the timer is till going on to this day
It’s a small modeling amp to mess around on at home not to blow the doors off your house lol.
OLA THERE'S A PANTERA SETTING ON THAT AMP. Its called far beyond driven.
Legend says the counter is still going to this day
The best part of these is your commentary as you figure them out, haha.
The Big Homie back at it!!!!
killing it dude.
I purchased a Peavey Vypr my amplifier has 2-12's.It's a GREAT amp.Solid State(which I prefer by the way). It's loud enough for me to play along in a band and use it for recording or doing a show
Greetings my Vypir bretheren!, when i watched Ola, testing the Vypir 15w, i was sold...now i kinda want to get, the 75w, but not being able to use any other pedal than the Sanpera kinda bums me out
i like that i can go and make a coffee while it starts up :D great vid ola!
No.4 JOYO DC 15 .
THE MOST METAL PRACTICE AMP OUT THERE
There’s another version of this amp, the mustang lt25 and it sounds soooo much better and it’s cheaper
¿That's true?
False. I have It and It does NOT chug and does NOT distort even with pedals and high output pickups. Do not buy!!!
Had you taken more than 4 minutes to go through it, you might have been more pleased. The"basic" settings aren't as well done as they could be, but a great place for those who don't know how something gets dialed in or effects chain orders, to begin with and adjust. You seem a little too seasoned for the "Basic" settings. You might have had better luck making you OWN setting. Start with the pre-effects, then add the amp you want to use, then post-effects. "Save As xxx" and hit the big hat/master button to confirm. It's a great jamming or "basement" amplifier. My guitar tech uses one in small coffee shops or other venues where a large amp is just overkill. For metal? It's not so great. Blues? It's a bad ass little name taker and can provide MANY tones. For metal I'll take a tube amp any day.
I am thinking of buying this amp. This vid really helped
I bought the smallest of the original Mustang amps new. I will say it nailed the Fender Champ tone (5F1). I a/b'd it with a 58 Champ and the only audible difference was the "obnoxious tail end fizz" as it soon became known on the Mustang. Fender sorted it out with a firmware upgrade but as I had the real deal I sold the Mustang.
The other issue with the Mustang was the amp model select knob. When the amp was cranked the cab vibration would make the amp change sims. Others on various gear forums mentioned it as well.
These new Mustangs probably have that sorted out. Anyhow I'll stick with analog amps.
You should take cigar box guitar, put a Dimebucker in it and play through a small speaker that's in a cigarette pack and see if it will chug. What about a shovel guitar? It's time to get serious Ola!
Ill agree with this...do a will it chug on the cigarette pack amps
Lets be honest though. You can make anything chug with the Power of Dimebag..
Hello Ola, it seems like the amp it's just for practice the sound it's not too bad, love your videos, METAL RULES!!!!
I love this amp, played it the other day
oops wrong amp
just katana 50.....which Ola you already know....live to you and your family.....also...love the 1st single from your solo epic release
This is the problem I have with my Marshall Code 100 combo. It's a killer sounding amp, but option paralysis is a real thing. I spend more time fucking with the amp than I do playing. Once I finally get it dialed in though..... It's awesome.
Just about time! GREAT VIDEOOO
Me and my beginner amp: "Hell yeah, I can plug in my headphones!"
Gen Z beginner amps: "BLUETOOTH, WIFI, 5G, PLAY FORTNITE"
Hey Ola, if you’re looking for an amp that can REALLY chug, that’s Fender, try the Fender MH-500 Metalhead.
I think it is best if you use two stopwatch times. The first one, to find the "chug" , and the second one, to find the "Ola decent tone of approval" .
3:33 a black metal artist would kill for that tone
disclosure* It's easier to control on your phone or ipad via the fender amp app , I have the GT100 and this series is very fun to use and test pedals and effects with.
I think it needs to be reviewed. It can simulate any amps and pedals and cabinets ... anyway it has so many features. Can you review this next time? I don't like other youtubers coz they talks too much and it feels so uncomfortable to listen. I enjoy your video every morning on this channel because your video is so comfortable and fun to watch.
My Digitech GSP1101 still kicks ass, incredibly easy to make patches and for it being a 10 year old preamp it still impresses me. Definitely check one out, it does Death Metal perfectly well and more. And it also lets you upload 10 impulses.
At the $200 range? Peavey Vypyr. ~$400? Fender Rumble 200. I know it's a bass amp. Sounds absolutely BRUTAL with an 8 or 9 string.
I know this comment has nothing to do with this video , but could you do a video on the zoom tri metal pedal. I feel it’s one so so under rated pedal that can turn the worst amps into a metal monster.. Maybe if you review it zoom would reissue it.Your riffs are so heavy but never gets lost in the mix . Can you do a video on that to. Just asking a lot I know.
many thanks man , it was as amazing as you , it means something beyond amazing ;)
3:33 why that made me laugh so much?
the ola sneezing is the only chugging part !
Hey Ola, try the Yamaha THR5 and you're NOT allowed to use the modern hi setting :p
Ola could you possibly make a series where you recreate metal tones using the Boss Katana?
I just got a mustang 3 V2 100w for £80, it's a beast :)
We know the Ola will Chug 🤘🤘🤘
