Just got the ultra 2 ,first Apple watch and love it . High blood pressure and overweight at 61 ,now started to work out and watch my nutrition, thanks for sharing , Regards Dave from Scotland
Ok so lets say I`ll buy one, never used an apple watch so I am not sure which one to buy. I would like to buy a the cheapest one since Im a student, still I want to know which one is the best to precisly check your heart rate and calories wasted? Can you guys tell?
I know you’ve went over it in previous videos but did you take your total burned calories and eat at that maintenance for a while before bulking or cutting? Would love a video on this!
Sir, I totally agree. The sleep tracking is a must. I enjoy knowing my workout activity levels and my none workout calories burnt. Please keep preaching to the masses. Thanks for sharing.
The Apple Watch is great and I wish that in the near future, they produce a better life that lasts at least a week or longer. It’s definitely a great tool and awesome video Bryan.
Man you just have to try Garmin, that piece of technology is so much better to use as an alethic tool. Much more accurate sensors, much better battery life, more accurate sleep tracking, body battery function, calories tracking, and a verity of models to choose from. Sure apple watch might be a little better in day to day life activity, but from the sport perspective Garmin is just unbeatable!
I found calories burned and heat rate sensor to be more accurate on the Apple watch. But most brands are getting so good I think it will just depend on your personal likes and dislikes at this point.
@@JasonLawrenceNoel calories burned is counted by the algorithm, there is no specific sensor for it, it is a combination of heart rate, accelerometer and body measures you have entered in the app. However HR sensor works a little bit better in Garmin that in Apple for me, I was compering both to the chest strap sensor, which intended to be the most accurate. But actually you are quite correct, the difference is very slim and depends on conditions. The only thing you can never beat with Apple is battery life - two weeks without charging including 4 trainings a week is impossible for Apple, and very much possible for Garmin
I am very surprised you have not switched to the Ultra yet, like the majority of youtube content creators who mention Apple watch from time to time. This proves you do not overcomplicate things and focus not on the tech itself but on sports and results making sure the tech helps to achieve it.
currently 49.8! but i’m coming off a bulk and i’ve done only LISS cardio and minimal elliptical the last few months, hoping to get it back over 50 on my cut!
regarding the cardio and cutting.. zone 2 is the best zone to loose fat since its aerobic work and that utilizes fat more than anerobic work.. which starts with zone 3
That's a misunderstanding. Zone 2 indeed burns more fat calories as a percentage of total calories burned, but it burns less total calories than zone 3. If you can last for 30 minutes at zone 3 vs 2 then it's better to train in zone 3 because you will burn more calories OVERALL. Total calorie burn is how you lose adipose tissue (body fat), it doesn't matter if you're using carbs or fat metabolism to get there.
@@ZenViouS Well the thing is, you can usually last way longer in Zone 1 than zone 2 and zone 2 than zone 3 etc. So unless you are opting for most time efficiency you are best served in zone 2 because even despite having full storages at the beginning of the day you already attack fat as an energy source, which you would otherwise not really do.. besides when your storages are empty And the difference between zone 2 and 3 is not thaaat drastically different especially for shorter timeframes in total calorie burn.. but its all a very small percentage of gain or losses between the two anyway so not worthy of big discussions
Have had Apple watches for years and recently bought a Garmin. Currently use both Apple Watch 9 and Garmin Forerunner 265. Everything mentioned in this video (fitness tracking, sleep, calories, heart rate, etc) the Garmin does better. It hurts me to say that but I’m rather pissed off that all the Apple has access to some of the brightest devs in the world but couldn’t make a good sports watch like the Garmin 265. That being said, there are smart features about the Apple Watch that I miss terribly which are non-existent on the Garmin.
@@BryanAdamCastilloI don’t think you would go back to an Apple Watch after using something like a Garmin 265 for your lifts and runs. I’m shocked at how much better the native workout features are on the Garmin after owning over 5 series of Apple Watch. Garmin is pure garbage for any “smart watch” features though 😂 but for tracking lifts and runs it is superior.
I bought Apple Watch last fall and at first it was interesting to see all the data but I had to take it off completely couple months ago bc of rash in my both wrists. After that I have felt very relieved and free not ”needing” to inform my watch about my workouts etc. I still train like before until failure 🥵 maybe not the most optimal way for the results, but I really love this simplier raw intuitive lifting outdoors, works for me perfectly ❤️🔥
Another Garmin user here but hoping the Apple Watch Ultra upgrade in September is a major step forward as I’d like to try it. The Garmin is great for sport but poor as a smart watch. All great tips Bryan. If you’re someone who likes data then having any kind of fitness watch will give you an extra push on your fitness. Definitely worth trying.
I dunno hey, I'm so over the Apple Watch - for the things I need I could get away with something basic like a Garmin Vívosmart 5, then at least I can still wear a normal "stylish" watch. Apple watch is information overload - do I really need to know how well I'm sleeping? I can tell the next morning whether or not I've slept well... Pro tip, don't go to bed too late, and avoid blue light before bed. All I need is a heart rate tracker, calorie, step counter, and a battery life that lasts longer than a day. Other things seem gimmicky and useless information that's "nice to have".
Agree on information overload… I turn everything off on my Apple Watch and just use it for activity and run tracking. I have used every fitness tracker and still prefer the way Apple does it for my needs and also totally get why people hate it for sure :)
I have a Samsung watch and sleep tracker is pretty handy . It tells you information about all sorts of things which you can fix before , during and after sleep to improve sleep quality. Dunno about apple tho

For sure! It improved my days a lot.
I forgot mine once and just realised after getting the Gym... I've dragged my ass back to get it and returned to get my workout done!!!!
omg i’d 100% do the same thing 😂😂

VO2 Max FTW!!!
🔥🔥
I have become obsessed with pushing my VO2 max to the maxxxx

Love using my Apple Watch SE for exercising and tracking my steps.
What app is that showing you were in zone 3?
Brother….I needed this badly! I’m upgrading from the 3 to the 9 next month, can’t wait.

heck yeah and stoked you feel the same! much love!
Looking forward to getting the next release of the Watch and a few other Apple items that are getting significant upgrades.
heck yeah, same! i hear there’s some exciting stuff in the works!

Totally agree..it’s invaluable to me now after losing 100pounds over a couple years and keeping it off effortlessly these days.
I use a Garmin Fenix but it applies to me as well. I’d be lost without a smart watch and it’s tracking.

This is true!! Apple Watches r amazing 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 and the sleep tracking is so vital 💯
thanks man
I love my 8. I need to upgrade to the Ultra 2. 😍
heck yeah! thinking about upgrading later this year as well!
@@BryanAdamCastillo Good luck! I hope you do!
do we need to pause workout on watch after every set and resume before starting the set
Nope. Start the workout on the watch and end it on the watch after you’re done.

why not a ring? did you try it?
never tried a ring! have you?
I’ve found rings interfere with strength training for me. Gripping pull up bars or dumbbells while wearing a ring causes chafing on my finger

been loving Meridian for a minute now but might need to switch it up soon!

definitely take rest days from the strength training, but will still typically walk 2-3 miles and do 30ish minutes of cardio!
