I was going to see them for the 3rd time before covid started and screwed concerts for the year been a fan since they started and someone gave me their cd
To see Sevendust live in their prime was a thing of beauty! One of the best bands of the mid to late 90’s, and early 00’s to see live! Such amazing energy in the pit! Ahh so many memories! Wish I could turn back time!
Gotta say, Lajon is probably one of THE nicest guys in rock. Always humble, always has time for fans. Love Sevendust, hope you react to more, like Angels Son
LJ really is one of the good guys. He rented skis and snowboards for his wife, kids, and himself from me a few years back. He was as nice and cool as they come.
I second that, hung out at a bar in Boston with Lajon and morgan after a show and we just shot the shit for hours, super down to earth guys and super kind
Howard Jones, a strooooong black vocalist, that added huge depth to Killswitch Engage. Any song off Daylight Dies. You WILL NOT be disappointed.!!! Love your channel, Jamal 🤘
If you every have the chance to go see them in concert then be prepared for one of the best, warmest, exciting and intense concerts you'll ever find. Its a family reunion with a family you never knew you had ;)
This song is absolutely a classic in my eyes, you could hear the soulful voice from their lead singer Lajon Witherspoon blended very well with hard rock.
I saw Sevendust live several times. Always a great show. They have been on the fringes of the mainstream but always had a lot of respect in the rock community.
Sevendust is one of the best hard rock bands EVER and has been my favorite since 98. Saw them live several times over the years. They're an AMAZING live band. Highly recommend seeing them out! Also had a chance to meet them after a couple of shows. Great group of guys!
sevendust was my first concert. Dude chilled with my friends i for a while before the concert. really down to earth guy, he even signed my friends truck. It was so epic for us little HS kids.
I love watching people react to Sevendust. One of my favorite bands hands down. Even played their song "Angel's Son" at my daughter's funeral. They have entire albums without a bad song.
You really need to see Sevendust live....they're even better in concert....you wont be disappointed...I promise you that much...if they ever have a tour date near you make sure you get out to see them...best live experience I've ever had...
I saw sevendust live this year and they were absolutely incredible! Fire from the gods is one of my favorite bands and their new album is really good! You gotta check it out
I've seen these guys in concert quite a few times. They ALWAYS put on a good show! There's nothing like being in a room with 40,000 people rocking out TOGETHER! I remember leaving one of their concerts and some lady driving by yelled "skinheads" to a group of people who were leaving the show....all wearing Sevendust shirts. That woman allowed her ignorance to dictate her ideology based on unfounded stereotypes. I wish we could see so much more diversity within the different genres of music today! I think music can bring us all together and defeat the media pulling us apart!! We need more Lajons (Sevendust), Darius Ruckers, Eminems, etc... Love the channel
Dude your sure branching into Nü-metal with bands like slipknot, system of a down, disturbed, korn, deftones, Sevendust, in living color etc. Welcome to the metal family.
Sevendust is my favorite band, hands down. I finally got to meet them last year at a meet and greet and they're such nice guys. Their album, Animosity, helped me through some rough times and made me a fan for life.
Denial is my favorite 7D song...I love these guys. Seen them live 13 times...greatest live band EVER!!! On top, they are the most humble, friendly guys you'll ever go see. They hang with us after the show EVERY TIME, and they fkng blow the roof off EVERY TIME!!!!
Just let me say 7-D is the band I loved most in the 90's BAR NONE, and that is including a lot of obscure ones, for pure soul, power, and timeless prowess, 7-D is my all-time go to 90's bad ass rock band, DENIAL WOW! I still sing it at work today, and at every 7-11 I pull up to, GOD BLESS THIS BAND!
Hell yea. Revisiting my teen years right here! Home is such a great album. The next one for me has gotta be Animosity. 'Trust' and 'Shine' will blow your mind. And you're absolutely right: music brings people together.
I have seen these guys like 12 times. The early years were crazy. I remember seeing them on the Jack Daniel's tour about 15 years ago. I fought my way to the front of the mosh pit during this song and was rewarded with a shot of JD from Lajon as he was changing over to sing angel's son. He toasted with me just before he started singing.
You are going to have such a fun time listening to Sevendust. Coolest thing about their music is EVERY Sevendust song is a sing along song. They have such a talent for making their chorus's catchy and enjoyable. Lajon Weatherspoon is amazing.
1996 i was 13. I was offered by a friend in jr. High to go to a concert at the rave in Milwaukee. It would be my first concert ever. It was Ladies nite in Cambodia at the Rave. The lineup was Sevendust , Clutch and Limp Bizkit. I will never forget walking in and seeing them on stage.
LIVING COLOR, JUST MY TIMELESS 80's BAND, I was just humming it's a dirty job, but someone has to do it, as I rebuilt park benches by myself for 6 hours in 102 degrees alone! Thank you for the memories!
Sevendust is one of my favorite bands, all time. Briefly met Lajon Witherspoon ("LJ") when he stopped by a local venue featuring local bands playing. He wasn't booked to perform, wasn't scheduled to appear, he just showed up to hang out and watch bands. I thought that was one of the coolest things I had ever seen.
So Glad you reacted to these guys! I've seen sevendust 4 times over the years and met Lejon Witherspoon twice and all i can say is that he is such a super nice and humble guy. He even introduced himself to me but i was like "bro, i totally know who you are!"... glad you liked the song and the band.
Lots of people always recommend the "old" Sevendust stuff. All from the first three albums. But they have worked their asses off and have 13 albums by now. I'd strongly recommend "Unforgiven" from their newest album "All I See Is War". It has a cool music video, too. The albums Black Out The Sun and Cold Day Memory have mostly great songs, too. It's hard to pick a bad one really, if not impossible. But it might be nice to see a reaction to some of their new stuff. Love your reactions, man.
Talked to these guys for about two minutes after a show in my hometown and they were so cool. Even if I didn't love the music I'd be a fan for life. And that hook will be in your head for days.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!! This is probably the MOST UNDERRATED band out there!!! i have sen them at least 8 times live and every time i walk out with a sore neck and a happy heart!!!
One of the greatest nights of my life was seeing them for the first time. I stuck around the venue to meet them. Everyone else had left and they were at a table hanging out. I went to introduce myself and they invited me to chill with them and do tequila shots. We drank at least 3 bottles. I've seen them many times, never a dull moment 👍
Still the best show I've been to. Great memories of this band live. I was in my wheelchair on an little elevated platform right behind the pit and had folks using the arms of my chair to dive into the pit. That was awesome!😁
I never clicked to watch a video so fast. Been a long time Sevendust fan, glad to see you enjoy them too! Also Morgan (the drummer here) is the backup vocals for the band. If you want to see a great band where the drummer is the lead singer check out Mastodon!
Loved your reaction to this song! It's one of my favorites... You got a little deep there and you're so right. There's so much great music out there and it's our duty to discover it all! This past summer I spent my nights listening to new music and seeking out new artists I've never heard before! Music will add magic to your life!
Dude!!! I've been a Sevendust fan since the begining. Would you believe it if I told you that they are WAYYYY better live? I've been to 15 Sevendust shows and it is Amazing every time! If you have a moment, give FEVER 333 a listen. They are the new hot ticket, and they're also amazing live!! Definitely check them out!! By far the most energy of ANY BAND I have ever seen live.
Sevendust is the most criminally underrated band of the last 20 years. I've seen them at least 15 times and they kill it every time.
Same for me! They're so good.
I was going to see them for the 3rd time before covid started and screwed concerts for the year been a fan since they started and someone gave me their cd
Of all time...
Was going to say the very same thing. One of my faves.
Agreed...seen them 6 times i think in all different venues..always sounds amazing...and chill dudes
Sevendust is sooooooo damn underated. Their album Animosity is AMAZING
Their singers voice too! Reminds me of the guy from living colour a bit.
Yessss, love Sevendust and Animosity is such an amazing album... 😃
i was about to write this, so under rated!
I don't go by whose rating system you're thinking of. We know they're great and that's all that matters right
Literally one of my top 5 favorite albums ever
Sevendust as a whole should be charged with a felony for being so unbelievably underrated! One of the best live bands I’ve ever seen!
To see Sevendust live in their prime was a thing of beauty! One of the best bands of the mid to late 90’s, and early 00’s to see live! Such amazing energy in the pit! Ahh so many memories! Wish I could turn back time!
Same
Can confirm. They were incredibly clean live.
Gotta say, Lajon is probably one of THE nicest guys in rock. Always humble, always has time for fans. Love Sevendust, hope you react to more, like Angels Son
Get out the tissue box for that one
LJ really is one of the good guys. He rented skis and snowboards for his wife, kids, and himself from me a few years back. He was as nice and cool as they come.
Another vote here for angel's son
He lives in the same metro area as I do...I keep hoping to run into him somewhere!
I second that, hung out at a bar in Boston with Lajon and morgan after a show and we just shot the shit for hours, super down to earth guys and super kind
Lajon Witherspoon is the man!!! He still sounds like that to this day! Gotta appreciate.
Musically it unites. “💯” that’s the power of music
Howard Jones, a strooooong black vocalist, that added huge depth to Killswitch Engage. Any song off Daylight Dies. You WILL NOT be disappointed.!!! Love your channel, Jamal 🤘
Fo realz my dude i love that album
Hopefully Jamal reviews my curse.
Would love to see what he thinks of the awesome vocal range howard has in that song
daylight dies and end of a heartache easily two of my favorite albums of all time, howard jones MADE killswitch in my opinion
You gotta hear SevenDust "Black"!
Yep great song
"Black" was the very first song I heard of them on the radio....I was like "who is this and wear can I buy it??" Been listening to them ever since.
100% agree
Still their best song in my opinion.
That is an awesome song!
Killswitch engaged the end of heartache is another powerful black vocalist in metal
Sepultura- Derrick Leon Green
Make sure to watch the lyric video instead of the music video.
KSE is an incredible band.
Killswitch was absolutely amazing live.
It was sad when howard jones left the band, but his diabetes got out of control and he had no choice.
It amazes me that not everyone knows Sevendust..
I think it has do with the time period that they came out. Underrated!
They literally aren’t popular anymore why does it surprise you lmao
@@JB-gn5ou Because rock and metal are dying.
I always say that music is like a treasure chest. It doesn’t matter how long it’s been buried, once you discover it you’ve struck gold.
“Licking cream” by Sevendust
Gumby I suggested that as well, that song will make his head explode.
YES! Easily one of my favorites from 7dust.
I also suggested that because of the amazing duet
From there he can check out Skunk Anansie
Skin makes that song unreal.
One of the most underrated band
I've seen them live so many times. Some of the most down to earth guys you'll ever talk to.
You're so right. I grew up right down the road from Clint Lowry. One the most underrated, down to earth guitarist EVER.
Damon Bryan same bro. Anytime they’re in Atlanta (since they’re from here it’s quite often) I try and catch them.
Tom Loeper
I saw them back around 99, they were playing with Creed, they blew Creed out of the water, the crowd definitely liked Sevendust better.
Fire from the Gods is another band with a black vocalist. “Excuse Me” is a great song from them. Powerful message too.
Jen G. Agreed
Just check out the song and WOW AMAZING! That message too! Couldnt agree more!!!
I've seen them twice now once with Sevendust and once with Five Finger Death Punch. They put on one hell of a show.
Oh Hell yeah, check out "Right Now" another powerful song with ah strong message
I forgot about Fire from the Gods. Great band!
Sevendust is one of the best hard rock bands EVER and has been my favorite since 98. Saw them live several times over the years. They're an AMAZING live band. Highly recommend seeing them out! Also had a chance to meet them after a couple of shows. Great group of guys!

The ultimate Sevendust track.

Morgan Rose is one of my favorite drummers!
Lol I get to play with him still we sound the same.
I’ve seen Sevendust twice and Morgan blew me away both times. He’s so badass!
Fuckin a
He can sing great too
My inspiration for the last 15 years as a drummer. He's such a cool guy. Too bad his drumming style has lead to a ton of body ailments..
Best love show ever. I've seen Sevendust fourteen times over the years. Seen them more than any other band.
One of my FAVORITE songs by one of my FAVORITE bands of all time! Thank you for giving them your attention! Great guys who make great music!
sevendust was my first concert. Dude chilled with my friends i for a while before the concert. really down to earth guy, he even signed my friends truck. It was so epic for us little HS kids.
Sevendust was my first as well! I got to see them play in a hot, dirty club basement in Louisville, KY back in 2003. It was absolutely amazing!
Sevendust “ unraveling” such amazing vocals on that one
My old band got to open for Sevendust 11 years ago and Lajon and me hungout after the show and had a few shots at the bar. Coolest dude in industry.
I love watching people react to Sevendust. One of my favorite bands hands down. Even played their song "Angel's Son" at my daughter's funeral. They have entire albums without a bad song.
No need to react, try "Waffle" and "Enemy", both great Sevendust songs
Yes...both...all!
Yes definitely
And Bitch
I like waffles
He said his head was about to fall off in this, his head would burst listening to Waffle.
Sevendust - X-mas Day is such a beautiful song.
supahmagilla I’ll back this up. Such a touching song.

Sevendust - decay !!!!!
Love this song, You've been killing it lately with your videos.
I saw Sevendust live at the house of blues. They were one of the best I've ever seen.
I have been to probably hundreds of concerts, hundreds. Sevendust produced the best concert I've ever been to, hands down.
From someone that has seen sevendust live 5 times they are just as amazing live as on the album!!
One of the best metal singers ever. But he can sing anything. Angels Son acoustic will bring you near tears.
I’m glad we’re sharing this journey with you. Keep rocking!
You need to hear "Black" by Sevendust.

If you'd like to check out another "old-school" metal band with an all-black line-up check, out Sound Barrier.
Hell. Yeah!!! Sound Barrier are criminally ignored and they deserve a place in the heavy metal pantheon \m/!!!

Another band that has a black lead singer is HED P.E. "Bartender" was their biggest hit, but had many good songs.
HED P.E.'s "Serpent Boy" is incredible.
Sevendust! Hell ya! I'd like to request Angels Son.
RAM1 I said the same thing. So good.
Especially the story behind it, was a very fitting song like say hello to heaven from temple of the dog, such emotions that formed those songs.
exactly, it showed he was not just a growler but was a true vocalist, especially the acoustic version

Lajon is one of the best vocalists in rock today.
Been a fan of Sevendust since 99.
I was wondering when you'd find them. Pure EXCELLENCE.
If you liked Sevendust check out Skindred - Pressure!
He'll have to check out "Nobody" by Skindred as well.
Oh oh ohhh yeah!! Bbig second on that suggestion for Skindred, Jamal!

Indeed
“War of Attrition” by God Forbid. Talented African American Vocalist and Drummer.
Yes War of Attrition. The absolute best song by God Forbid
The guitar players are black as well
God forbid. Only song I have heard from them is an ode (the fallen hero)
Sevendust is one of my favorite bands, all time. Briefly met Lajon Witherspoon ("LJ") when he stopped by a local venue featuring local bands playing.
