  • @Onikame
    @Onikame 4 года назад +465

    Tom Morello (the guitarist, you may have seen him in Ironman, as one of the terrorists) is amazing. All of their songs were recorded live, and all the sounds were made with guitar, drums, bass, vocals. So yeah, he was stabbing that aux cord into his hand to get them sounds. RATM drops bombs and nothin else. A legendary band.
    Fun note, Tom Morello apologized just in case it was their hip-hop/metal style that influenced Limp Byzkit. He felt bad about that.

    • @Dyrtbag68
      @Dyrtbag68 4 года назад +37

      Limp Bizkit as a whole were good. Fred Durst's off the stage bs is what killed it for them.

      It's not an AUX cable, even though the contacts looks the same. It's a guitar cable, Tele cable. And yeah, guitar cables always make noise when you touch the end that is not plugged into the guitar. This combined with effect boxes makes cool sounds!

      @@Dyrtbag68 fr, it's a painful thing to admit, but every individual member of LB was a great musician. Unfortunately, the lead singer was a very irritating person who seemingly would be anything to be famous. Although I guess that's the reason we still remember who they are. 🤷‍♂️ I really can't stand durst, but if you listen to "3 dollar bill" only focusing on the music they were all really good. Like I said, if it weren't for the personality of the frontman They probably would have just been a bunch of talented musicians no one had heard of with dayjobs.

Back then I was into grunge like STP and Soundgarden and Dr. Dre & Snoop. Go figure. Anyway, I saw Rage live at Lollapalooza in 1996 and again with Wu-Tang in 1998. Rage live was like nothing else. Tom Morello, the guitarist, is a modern master of guitar effect sounds. He uses a lot of effect pedal and what he does with his guitar is crazy. You can also find him in Guitar Hero 3 as the first boss to defeat in riffs battle

    RATM is one of the most important rock bands of the last 40 years and are the basic equivalent of Public Enemy to rap music. It was a sad day when they broke up. Their entire debut album is EPIC. Renegades, their album of covers is EPIC. The middle two albums of Evil Empire and Battle of Los Angeles have some really good tunes on them too. No one brought it like they did and that is a fact.

    "Bombtrack" as others have suggested is one where Zack comes out flowing so hard that it puts the vast majority of rappers to shame. Add to that the actual content of his bars and its honestly life changing. Obviously you've become a fan but that's not one to sleep on.

    Here's something you may want to check out, it's pretty amazing! About four years ago a group of people wanted The Foo Fighters to perform in their small city of Cesena, Italy. They gathered 1000 musicians; singers, drummers and guitarists and "begged" the Foo Fighters to come by simultaneously playing the Foo Fighters hit "Learn To Fly". The video went viral, and three months later the Foo Fighters did play in Cesena. Since then the musicians, now known as the "Rockin1000" perform around the world. Here's the video that started in all (Note: after they play the organizer makes a rather long speech, you can stop it at 4:05)
