100%, when they landed out of Atlanta in '96 we lost our minds! They came out of the gate hard AF! Lajon settled into himself and well...2nd album on we knew what Sevendust could do and they didn't disappoint! \m/

Most emotional concert experience I ever had was at a sevendust show. Lajon(singer) brought out Vinnie Paul 2 weeks after Dime was shot and sang "Angels Son" acapella with the crowd at Summerfest in Milwaukee,WI
Saw them right after the boston bombing in Massachusetts. He cried, we all cried..

Lajon saves the band from sounding like most metal bands of their time. He's like a heavier version of Living Colour's Corey Glover.

It's not that simple but yeah I get it...Lajon, Clint, Morgan, John, and Vince are the DNA needed to make Sevendust what it is! Obviously the major pieces are Lajon, Clint, and Morgan....they were unique and came out of the gate hard AF...this 2nd album cemented their capabilities and Lajon settled into what he would become as the front man and singer. It's been 27yrs and I still fucking love this band! \m/
Don't get me wrong, LJ is one of my all time favorites, but Sevendust wouldn't sound like anyone else regardless. Morgan Rose had a flair about him even back then that I still don't really see in other drummers, AND he sings/screams like no one I've ever heard. Clint, Vince and John are so against the grain melodically, they've always just kind of been in their own lane as players.
They're on Rise Records these days which I thought would water them down, but nope. They're still pure, unadulterated Sevendust ...but with shinier production.

hands down one of my favorite bands to see live. The last time I saw them, they finished the set but the entire crowd started chanting for Angel's Son, they come back out and played it for an encore and they turned it up as loud as they could. Then was chillin and getting drunk with everyone after the show. It was a great night.

Do you remember the demos they put out under the old name, Crawlspace? Amazing that two of the best live acts one could ever see working together, pre fame. Butch Walker recorded/produced their demos for them, that got them signed then he was to produce the debut, yet had his own fame with his old band The Marvelous 3, they had a big tour to do, to promote their big hit, Freak of the Week. Butch did produce the Seasons record. You can see him working with them in the video for the Enemy (Studio Version video)

I saw these guys in concert, even though they didn't headline, they were easily the best stage performance of the night!

Easily one of the top current live acts around. One doesnt even have to relate to or just not be into metal and still enjoy these guys.
I've seen them 3 times and got to meet them once. They're really cool down to earth guys. Me and my fiance agreed that we will NOT miss Sevendust when they come around
More Sevendust! One of the most consistent metal/rock bands of all time. They've been making quality music for over 20 years. Album after album after album is full of amazing songs.
Sevendust's song called Waffle & please do a reaction to Hed Pe!! Metal, punk mixed with hip hop elements & the singer is also black. Lajon from Sevendust did a collab with them called Stand Up, other songs from Hed Pe I suggest are Bartender, Suffa, Renegade, Killing Time, Ground, Here and Now, Represent uncensored video or Blackout. Morgan Rose is such an underrated and amazing drummer! Sevendust are one of the dopest Metal/Rock bands from the 90s.

Agreed, definitely need to react to Angels Son, but the Strait Up album version, hits home a lot harder than the album Sevendust released it on. Both are great, but the original version is AMAZING.

@Ryan They are so underrated man! I'm a bit older but back in the day, Black got radio play and Prayer came in for a bit but after that, from what I heard, the radio just dropped them altogether. Not sure why!

Saw them live about 10 years ago with Taproot and Nonpoint. Got into the show for free because we were supposed to interview the band but their manager changed his mind at the last second . Still got to hang out backstage and watch the concert for free though .

Sevendust is one of the hardest working bands in the biz. They are always on tour. I've seen them probably half a dozen times and they always bring their A-game.
That's funny how you talked about the energy you got from them. I've seen them twice in concert and couldn't tell you the number of concerts I've been to with other bands but I always made the statement that Sevendust had the most "electric" show that I'd ever seen.
One of the BEST songs in metal. I remember when this video first came out back in the 90s, and I still listen it to it today. I'm 41 now. lol

So I saw Sevendust play at Warped Tour in ATL 99 (they are from GA) on that same day, Eminem performed, early Black Eyed Peas (pre fergie), Ice T and others. Chuck D, Outkast, Goodie MOB were all spotted around and backstage to watch a young Eminem perform. 100% true story.

Dope. Heavy crunchy sound with soul melody mixed in. Drums, rhythm, and lead and background vocals all insanely good. No matter what you usually listen to, there's something for everyone here.

But then it does seem to be more of a popularity contest and Killswitch doesn't get a whole lot of radio play or the attention they deserve IMHO.
It has to be the studio version though. Killswitch is notorious for using a radio edited version of their songs to release to the mainstream. The vocals are way more powerful in the studio versions.

Love Sevendust, first concert i went to. It was at the Tabernacle in ATL. Venue is an old church with amazing acoustics! Had a broken ankle but still went into the crazy moshpit! Great memories!
I’ve seen this band more than any band I’ve seen. They seemed to come to Kentucky 2/4 times a year when I was a teenager lol. Seemed like it anyway. I can absolutely say they never disappoint on or off stage. Lajon is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met and what an incredible voice.
These guys are awesome. I saw them live in Virginia a number of years ago. Check out black, and praise by these guys!
