I bought 3, that’s right 3 LB7s. One of my favorites
As an actual fan of the Beam profile, I'd like to thank you for giving them another chance here. LB7 is fire, and I'm also really enjoying the Hardin's Creek series. Go Beam!
LB7 was my favorite whiskey of 2023... so good that I sought a backup bottle which I do very rarely
One of the best pours I had last year. Incredible bottle
I’ve been saying this for months! Although we all avoided Little Book because of being burned early on so I get why this took a while to catch on
Why do you feel guilty, Sean. I was so happy that you won something you didn't have. ❤
This is a DAMN good bottle. I had several chances to buy it, but i never did. I even saw it for $135 and $140 but got something else because im not a huge beam or bookers fan. Bookers kentucky tea batch i have and like, storyteller is pretty good too. Apprentice was not good, and there's another i had that i didnt care for, i just started collecting just about a year ago. Luckily my brother got it for me for xmas. I swear, the only reason he got me a bottle w a price tag like that is because he knows hes guna drink some too. He didnt want to buy it for himself, but he figured he could get it for me for xmas and still get to drink some, eventhough he knows im not a huge fan of bookers. So yea, he got it for me so he could drink some n not get crap from his wife for spending that much. But im happy he did, its really good. And lucky for me it doesnt have much of the nutty profile im not a fan of.
I like how you mention you opened the bottle and let it sit for a while and got some air into it because that is literally what I had to do with Reflection II from Blue Run. I wasn't a huge fan of it at first (really wanted Reflection I, but couldn't get it), but after it sat for a little bit after I opened it, it completely changed and I love it now.
I almost aerate some bottle that taste bad. It can help immediately. Or leave it open for a few days.
I have reflection 1. Its not all that great. Not terrible, but nothing special. This LB 7 is a damn good bottle. Even the first crack was really good. Theres some bottles that the first pour was the best, then kinda falls off, but not many. Usually they get better as they open up, as you know im sure
I love how Cookie just walks in front of you 2 during the sponsored section 🤣 cats they do what they want!
Two words for Chapter 7: "frikkin awesome". Grilled pineapple on the front... a really nice ash on the back. Not, like, soot, but ash, like slow aged wood. And, I'd never think it was 118 proof... goes down easy. Just picked up a bottle and now I need to find a backup...
Found a bottle on the shelf in a grocery store in NJ at $150 last week. So glad I picked it up!
I'm in NJ as well. Found a bottle of chapter 6 in one of my locals. Damn good stuff too. A much younger blend overall - everything is 4-5 years old.
I bought mine when it was released and am very impressed. Top 3 of Little Books!
Best Little Book so far.
Cracked it open with friends and next day went and got a back up.
Msrp is $125 by me.
“I’ve not had this” You could have done if my Badvent sample had been chosen.
My favorite nose of 2023 and top two on the palate. I rarely buy a back-up bottle of something $100+ but I sure did with this one. PA FWGS has 1000+ in-stock at MSRP.
Speaking of Jim Beam products, hoping you guys review Old Overholt Rye 10 year Cask Strength soon!
Just think about the level of skill it takes to blend all of these components to near perfection.
This bottle is so good it’s easily one of my favorites I have
I've got one on deck, paid $99, so this is great news.
Good winning bottle from Beam. I get vibes of having a cup of hot cocoa with half a candy cane melted into it. I was impressed.
Chpt 7 is the only Little Book I’ve had, and I like it a lot - easily the best Jim Beam whiskey I’ve ever tried. For $126 here in Portland, Maine, I’m on the fence about buying a second bottle.
This is a blending masterpiece, where the sum of its parts is better than each element. This took elements from all 6 of the prior little books. Little book 6 was not good at all but this makes that component shine in the blend.
Here's my thing...Is Booker's too expensive? yes. Will I keep buying it? Also yes.
😂 I’ll be right there with you
This isn't Bookers though
I might buy Little Book but I certainly don't buy every Bookers anymore. I only pick up a batch if it gets interesting reviews. I don't need younger KC 9 picks in a fancy package.
@@apeekintime Bookers are far better than the Little Books. This has been the first good one in a while. Often the best Bookers of the year is better. Also Bookers is a far better value proposition: fact... I agree you need to look up the batch, but still.
@@erikibarra14 Did I say it was? I actually don't have a little book, because of the dismal value proposition.
It’s good! Best out of 5-7
That's a wild blend.
Congrats on the grand opening!
so honest question. I bought a 23-04, I opened it up in anticipation. smelled wonderful, however upon tasting, I gagged, I literally almost threw up. It was a HEAVY peanut taste and something just didnt agree with me. then again, I hate Jim Beam product, but wanted to try Bookers. I'm not sure what went wrong here.
Bookers all taste like peanuts for us
I am glad to hear you guys really appreciate this whiskey. It was in my top 3 whiskeys I tried in 2023.
Picked up a bottle last weekend. Took a sip and was decent. Gotta circle back to it now that it’s sat for a week
Leave it in the glass for 20 minutes until you get the bottle below the shoulder.
Nice review! Little Book Chapter 7 is a top tier pour in my book:) Store owner friend lets me have them for 92.00 (only had one) bucks and Booker’s for 72.00 so I’m always buying!
Wow thats awesome you can get them so cheap, well, not cheap, but much cheaper than they really cost
@@jacksmith2315 yeah, it’s his cost! Very fortunate:)
Which would you pick up if you had to pick one on shelf? Disco 11 or Little Book 7?
Jealous that my brother got to go to the grand opening, but atleast he got me a couple bottles! Also I was disappointed with LB7, beam isn’t my profile in general, but I just a lot of grass and earthy notes in not a pleasant way. I’ll stick with just regular bookers, seems to be more consistent and better for my palate.
How many leather bound books comes through on the nose
Good to know ritual has mint in it. I've seen these ads before but not as in depth. I have a mint allergy so definitely something for me to avoid.
Honestly I'm glad we mentioned it then. I love it b/c it doesn't taste like normal multi vitamins BUT having a mint allergy would shut that part down pretty fast. Cheers!
I passed on this for 200 because I didn't care for other releases and I thought how could it be good with all that blended in. I guess I should have picked it up!
@thekid6109 they are not the first ones I have heard this from though! There have been multiple channels and reviews that give chapter 7 a glowing review!
Cookie is earning his keep these days. I usually avoid Beam products, but will give this a try.
Could not disagree more when it comes to Chocolate Malted Rye. It actually had cacao notes. I really enjoy the content, even if our profiles preferences are VERY different. Cheers!
Redemption!
18 years of air in the barrel wasn’t enough? You think it’s going to open up in a bottle after a week. It’s all mental.
6 was so bad I gave it away. Tasted like asparagus. Grabbed a 7 though I haven't cracked it yet.
Little Book 3 is a world class whiskey
Great bottle, straight motts applesauce
Never tried Little Book. I’ve had plenty of Bookers. Some of them are horrible some pretty good to great. Expensive, for a Beam product, yes but still decent. Last Bookers I found was $104.99. I don’t know how Little Book compares.
"let me undress her" definitely on the Mount Rushmore of creepy things Dan has said. And that's really saying something...... 🙃
Jim Beam products are fuggin amazing. Little Books I don't cop though. just not my fave taste to price ratio. KC's and the rest of it i'll take all day though
I have chapters. 3,4,5, but 7 is truly phenomenal. Bought two last year, finished them, bought two more this year.
It's $199.90 CDN in Ontario.
Storyteller was top 3 for me last year.
Hey! 50+ is not old! 😂
Woo hoo
Which little Book is this one? Which #?
My guy it says chapter 7 in the title
A good chunk of me Huh? LOL
Damn…. I think Dan just called me old
When half your video is advertising
pretty sure little book 7 is a blend of the previous 6...at least i thought that was the case.
It’s one whiskey from each of the previous, plus one new whiskey. Also the previous ones have been allowed to age this whole time. So for example, I am pretty sure the 17 year in Ch 7 is a Baker’s aged 17 years, as it came from ch 2 which had a 12 year Baker’s.
@@bf13137 thanks!
If you live long enough, you will get old. A lot of people don't get old, cause they don't live long enough.
Patiently waiting for a Swordfish Oil Multi...
Fabulous video guys!! I like this expression! Yes it needs to open up - this particular expression. By open up I mean pour 30-min before sipping! Love this! How's the new little dude Sean? I hope mom, baby dude and dad are all terrific!! I have an ask!! Can you please please please do some more lovely scotch reviews?!! I'd be thrilled and even more so if it's peated!! But hey Peated or Speyside!! Be well!! Cheers! 🙂
This bottle is 79.99 in Michigan, was able to be found last fall for 99.99 regularly, unsure where the $150 price came from?
Its a little book, not a standard bookers
@@LeatherDaddy97 100% aware of the difference as I own the entire lineup/release, and going back about 14 bookers releases...MI State Min for LITTLE BOOK is 79.99; State min for "Regular Bookers" is 99.99
@@GettinGreasy88 sounds like a fluke considering msrp is 135
@LeatherDaddy97 been that way for the past 3 years...its public knowledge and can be looked up in about 15 seconds
@LeatherDaddy97 actually, after research, msrp is the $150 they referenced; and is what it sells for at the distillery...which is wild to me...but yes MI state min is still 79.99, and regularly see it around MI/Ohio/Indiana/Chicago for 79.99-109.99
You guys are pretty late to reviewing Little Book 7... I'll be real surprised if we don't see the small channels all start talking about it now because they always follow suit on whatever BJs do *cough* Average Drinker *cough*
