It fascinates me, wildlife would take one look at me and run for the hills.
I haven't read Beach Read yet but I think the discussion about literary genres is so valid, I think every type of story has a public and a special characteristc that makes us happy, no need to put other people down for liking what they like. Also, I really like the trees in the background, especially the one giving us a model face 😗
i loved beach read so much! definitely one of my favorites and it really makes you think about different ways of viewing life and its aspects :) highly recommend

I love nature, love to take a walk in nature, to look at all that nature gives and I love to read in nature, to sit and listen to the sounds of the wind and the rustling of the leaves. Especially at evenings, sitting outside, smelling the evening air, feeling and seeing the light of the sunset has something incredible and peaceful about it. Discovering the plenty of animals and insects that crawl around, day and evenings listening to them and watching, how the butterflies exchange their spots with beautiful moths is an incredible experience. The day gets even better when watching Emmie's videos which are as calming as a peaceful evening in a garden next to the pond in where the frogs sing their songs.
The lake and forest are absolutely stunning. Its like being in a Disney movie. So magical ^-^

I know there’s fun in accomplishing a reading goal but definitely put your enjoyment first!! Glad you’re taking a nice reprieve before school starts.
That’s why I don’t really like to set a big goal on my reading challenge, sometimes trying to win looses the point of having fun. I think some ppl forget that reading is a hobby and it’s ok not to have loads of achievements in it.
i truly don't know how you continue reading after reading books that just don't really vibe w/ you, it's seriously amazing😭 when i read books that are just kinda "meh" it makes me not want to read ever again lol. i guess when you read as much as you do it's easy to move on to the next one🙂 thanks for another lovely vlog

@@emmiereads I think it's a beautiful work! It's based on a real romance of the author and Indian poet Maitreyi Devi. Funnily enough, Devi was unaware this work existed, and published her own account of the romance as "It Does Not Die" in English. Eilade actually promised her that the story would not appear in English until after their deaths, which is why a novel from the 1930s took so long to see our side of the world. Fascinating history!

Also thats a beautiful copy of Anna Karenina!!!! Mine is just blank and ugly😢 I read it in Jan and Feb and am giving mine away and looking for a better cover to own bcs I loved it!!!!

I couldn't get into Beach Read as well! Good contemporary romances are so hard to find! I think in your what to read in August video you mentioned Tokyo Ever After which i DNF-ed after an hour :(

I read a different Donna tartt book “the little friend” and it was really bad so I don’t like her writing style and how she smears the story with getting to no point. I wanted to read the goldfinch bc of Rick riorden’s review of it but after this book and emmie’s POV I think imma leave the book for now

Totally agree and I think beach read is completely mistitled and the cover is misleading! I love gus way more than January and think its speak a ton to they type of people who just assume way too much! Assume a person is this way bcs of x and assume y bcs of that it just annoyed me! I think I loved this book with its flaws bcs I connect to gus a very large amount and my father lived many different lives I was never connected too, but I see its flaws for what they are! But yes January was very complainy and her assumptions were annoying!

I CANT REALLY BELIEVE THAT SOMEBODY MENTIONATED ROMANIAN LITERATURE, Mircea Eliade it’s a great writer, but , if you want some philosofy I would recomand you Cioran, pinguin publishing have some editions of his work.
PS: I am really sorry for my bad english, but I am really enthusiastic abt the ideia that somebody would read some romanian books!

Hoooo boy I know what you mean about the Goldfinch. I had to DNF that book when I tried reading it a few years ago. I tried physical and audio and just couldn't get through it 😓

How to love reading books, when you hate reading them, but love hearing others talk about them :/
Maybe you just haven’t found the right books? Or maybe audiobooks would be a better fit?
Read things that you're interested about, not what others tell you read. Try different styles like audiobooks or graphic novels. Be patient and enjoy it. Read for the experience not for the sake of reading/trying to get through quickly.
