I discovered your channel about 2 weeks ago and I’ve been catching up on all of your old videos every day. Your videos bring me so much peace and comfort. You’ve also given me so many wonderful book recommendations. I’m so grateful for your content!
literally raised my hands when you said you are moving omg i’m literally SO happy!!!!! we know how much you’ve been stressed over this place omg so happy!!!!!
i loveeeeeee the way the brown bookshelf looks horizontally with the E.T. lamp and the new plants omggg love it!! and i cant wait for the moving vlog series 💚🪴
So happy you already found a new place! Your lamps and your new plants are lovely. Oh, The Tartar Steppe is very good! Hope you like it. Your vlogs are always cozy and full of beautiful feelings ( and beautiful things)!💖🌷🦋👒
I’m reading The Night Circus on my lunch breaks, House of Leaves in the evening and The Anthropocene Reviewed on the weekends lol. Different books for different moods. Loving all of them so far
I could tell that apartment was really getting to you. So happy and excited to hear you’re moving! That big smile says it all! Can’t wait to see your new place!! How exciting!! Hope you have a wonderful time with your family! 💚
hey emma, i just wanna say that your videos and Carolyn's channel are helpful and calming. You have helped me through my father's covid days. I just lost my dad around 10 hours ago. I know that God loves him more. Now I can't even read Anna Karenina. It's because every time my late father used to ask about what page that I'm on. Currently, I'm grieving, we'll be fine. Love, Felicia
I needed a nice long video to relax my brain after a really hectic day and then this pops into my subscription box. Perfect timing as always. Thank you ❤️
i've only read 30 pages of the goldfinch but so far i'm liking it! good luck with moving and can't wait for the vlogs! you looked so happy in the last clip, you're such a light!
Oh how lovely! I'm going to be hanging with a friend today, am expecting a book I'm super excited about to arrive, got some nice reading of Stendhal's 'The Red and the Black' in already, and now a delightful upload from you! This day really is turning out to be a great cozy one after some lacklustre times. Hope everyone else is doing well and things go well for you, Emma, with moving and everything else!
The island of sea women by Lisa See is also about the haenyeo of jeju but it’s set slightly earlier at the start of WW2. I really liked it and it really opened my eyes to the way the local people were treated during the occupation and what these women went through to provide for their families
Congratulations on the exciting news of moving! Thank you always for such great and stellar content. I am planning to also read The Birds soon as it seems very interesting.
if you’re looking for more books about the Haenyeo and Jeju i HIGHLY recommend reading The Island of Sea Women by Lisa See!!It is very similar to The Mermaid of Jeju and incorporates a lot of the same historical elements. I absolutely LOVED it! One of my favorite books I read last year 🌊 💜
Time flies with your vids! In a short time you became one of the people I feel some kind of mental connection with. You are very sweet and bright! By the way, that glass mug with golden shinies and winter trees is amazing...Also loved the cream cardigan and transparent earrings! I was planning to read "The Goldfinch", but something is continuously stopping me. It's a massive book and I have a lot on my tbr already. Thanks for sharing your opinion on this
Emmie your videos are my happy place and reading inspiration. Getting back into reading again has helped my brain fog tremendously!! My brain and I thank you! Hugs! 💚💚💚💚 Ps. Hope you're doing ok and staying cool and safe in the heatwaves you guys have going through. 💙💙💙
The Goldfinch was definitely trying at times to get through, but it's definitely worth the journey! Also your outfit is absolutely adorable today! Really good taste!
I can relate about The Goldfinch. I think it's a good novel and worth reading, and on occasion there were parts that really hit home for me. Particularly the parts in Vegas. But, it did feel like there's long stretches where nothing happened. Not to backseat Donna Tartt to much, this won a Pulitzer after all, but it felt like a lot of material could have been cut down so the book didn't feel so drawn out.
No need to say how grateful I am for your Frankenstein In Baghdad rec, absolutely loving it.Don't do your back in hauling around all those weighty tomes!❤️
Just about finished with Things Fall Apart, reading the Prophet slowly to really appreciate it (which I am), and tomorrow I'm starting up Never Let Me Go by Ishiguro.
I just finished my book of the month pick this week, I get to read my add-ons next, but that library is gorgeous, but not much has been going on just my physics class lol
Thank you for asking what we've been reading 🥰 I'm working on learning Russian and reading Laurus by Eugene Vodolazkin. It's set in Russia during the middle ages. and it reminds me of Gabo, whom I know you looooove 🥰

I just finished Monster, She Wrote. :D A very cool book about the hidden or less famous woman authors who helped pioneer horror and speculative fiction. Excellent to extend my tbr with more classic women writers. :)
i'm so happy about your hunarian book :) i'm whatching you from hungary, so "hi!" i did not read that book, but hungarian literature is really good, soooo i hope you'll/you've enjoy that

Your shirt going into your drink was a mood. I relate to that level of clumsiness. I feel that.
I would recommend leaving the spider plant in the nursery pot, for now. It helps to keep humidity.

The Goldfinch is definitely NOT a cheery read. I researched the actual history of the painting and it was quite interesting.
