- Watch this first reaction podcast where Kade makes Mercedes watch the classic movie, ROCKY (1976), for the first time. It stars Sylvester Stallone and was direct by John G. Avildsen. Sit back, relax, and don’t forget to comment below your thoughts on this classic dude movie.
ROCKY is about: Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone), a small-time boxer from working-class Philadelphia, is arbitrarily chosen to take on the reigning world heavyweight champion, Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers), when the undefeated fighter's scheduled opponent is injured. While training with feisty former bantamweight contender Mickey Goldmill (Burgess Meredith), Rocky tentatively begins a relationship with Adrian (Talia Shire), the wallflower sister of his meat-packer pal Paulie (Burt Young).

This movie won Best Picture
I absolutely agree -Kade
Cant wait for reaction of Rocky 2❗️
It’s coming!
18:59 they are talking about the bicentennial America celebrating 200 years of freedom 1776-1976. It was kind of a big deal from what my Dad told me.
Ahh, ok thank you for the clarification 🤝
Wow. lol
Right!
I think it's a mistake that you even made her watch it. I was just shaking my head all the time she was speaking.
He was disappointed that she didn’t like it too. The expectation’s definitely weren’t set correctly before she watched.
We’re glad to hear you enjoy Rocky!🤝
@@CRWNCinema I love Rocky! I must be the biggest Rocky girl-fan! So, it's disheartening to witness someone, especially as a woman myself, express such disdain for Rocky, an iconic cinematic masterpiece. It's pure disrespect for Mr. Stallone. His portrayal and the film's narrative have resonated worldwide, inspiring countless individuals with its themes of perseverance, resilience, and the triumph of the underdog. The global love for Rocky stems from its ability to transcend cultural boundaries and speak to the universal human spirit, making this criticism seem out of touch with the widespread appreciation for this cinematic gem. She's unbelievable!
@@docrichann absolutely! We think on her second watch she may have a second opinion
I think most our age do watch these movies out of order, but I think it’s important to watch Rocky - Rocky Balboa, Then the Creeds in correct order at some point in life. When doing that recently, Rocky II EASILY became my favorite and Rocky IV is my least favorite (which is ironic when listening to this lol)
Rocky II - best movie
Rocky - best fight
Rocky III - best montage
Great point!
& Rocky III montages do go hard!
you can judge someones character on if they like rocky or not no shit leave her
While we are sad she didn’t enjoy the first Rocky movie as much as we hoped, she is still a Rocky fan!
Agree. No future here. Cut your losses while you can.
To each their own but to me, Rocky IV was cheesy, completely far-fetched, with a formulaic script that a first-year film student could have written. The script was so generic it makes the actors look worse than they really are. The montages were just a cheap way to drum up some emotion that was lacking in the movie. It's still fun but to me more like fast food. The first Rocky is so much more authentic with superior writing and acting with flawed characters and much more believable conflict and struggles. But interesting and entertaining discussion by you guys, good job.
100%. Rocky IV isn’t a great movie but definitely a fun watch.
Thank you! We appreciate you🤝
