Sadie Sink is in Stranger Things, that’s probably where you recognize her from. It really helps illustrate their age difference because we think of the Stranger Things cast as little kids and so seeing her with an older guy kinda makes you uncomfortable lol

When I saw Sadie in Fear Street (netflix) I actually googled her age bc she seemed to have grown up so much since the last time I had seen her (Netflix seems to be quite comfortable in withholding stranger things from us, last season was summer 2019) & was shocked to realize she’s 19 now!

Remember Taylor took poetry in school. I think that's part of why she has such a visual mind. Love and respect her professionally as well as a genius with her craft.
Taylor is someone who loves so deeply, so passionately...and I find that so beautiful :) I think that's also why like you said her music is so honest and relatable, because of the depth she gives her writing and her music.

I used to have a friend who dated a girl under similar circumstances. He was 2 years out of grad school (27) and she was a college freshman (19) 😬. We had to sit him down after a while, and tell him he had no business dating her and he needed to let her start college (and life) without the albatross of a grown man hanging around her neck.

One of my favorite pieces of imagery that nobody has ever commented on before is the fact that, for the years later part of the video, Taylor portrayed herself at her age now instead of having Sadie do it with makeup effects...but she had Dylan portray it the same as he looked before. Its really representative of how much she grew up after the relationship because she was only 20 years old...but he didnt because he was already a grown man when they dated. Shes aged so much physically (but also mentally of course) in the last decade like everyone in their 20s...but jake hasnt aged that much physically just like most people dont really age that much in their 30s.
Also along the lines of something I rarely see commented on… In the later on part, where Jake looks into the book store window, we never see his face for a reason. It was a different actor. What’s his name, you ask? JAKE LYON. Like… Jake Lying. I love it.

Dylan O'Brien was in Teen Wolf and the Maze Runner trilogy, one of my favorite actors. I was never really into Stranger things, but I am Sadie's age, so her being with Dylan O'Brien, who is like 11 years older than me gave me a lot of chills. Dylan is an amazing actor, I have always adored him.
this is taylor hinting that she sees her self writing books in the future and her fans stick along through her journey… 😭

Heres a few cool things for you to know… The car scene where he toss the car keys and freaks out on the phone, is based on something that really happened, there’s paparazzi photos from the moment!
Also, if you notices, Sadie has golden light all over her for the most part of the film, even when they’re fighting, and Dylan has always blue light all over him, just like the dancing in the kitchen scene, when he breaks up with her, she turns blue, and only goes golden when she’s in front of a crown reading ALL TOO WELL the lyrics! Isn’t this genius?
The dinner with his friends, her glass of wine is full, because she was underage for drinking alcool! And he didn’t even cared about that!
He was always gaslighting her, and she keeps saying “I remember it all too well” because one thing gaslighters most doo is say “you’re not remembering things the way it happened” 🤡

Forever Winter is such a beautiful piece. On the first round I heard it, but didn't actually listened to it...once I did, it has become a favorite. The desperation in her voice in certain lyrics is so raw...it hurst me, but I can listen to it on repeat.
I’ve been OBSESSED with this version since it came out. I still listen on repeat several times a week. I am 10+ years past *this* relationship for me but it still cuts to the bone. One of my favorite past times is watching people react to this song/video on YT (I have a very exciting life) and that scene with Sadie crying on the bed still brings me to tears every single time I watch it. I remember being there “all too well”. 💔😭

Dylan and Sadie are both literally top-tier actors, genuinely as talented as they come and it really shines thrpugh this whole video but ESPECIALLY the kitchen scene with the dialogue. You don't see this sort of acting in music videos often because actors of their caliber just don't typically act in music videos because they think its beneath them (and theres some truth to that). But the fact Taylor was able to get them just goes to show what a cultural force she is
“Check the pulse and come back swearing it’s the same” that is too real. Something just about everyone I’m sure can probably relate to. How on earth did she write that and then cut it out.
I wish you would do videos of “dear John” and “ would’ve could’ve should’ve” about John Mayer written years apart. Amazing
I've seen so many videos disecting why All Too Well is one of her best songs and it wasn't until I recently went down that rabbit hole that I realised how small her vocal range is and why it adds that bigger impact at the "they you call me up again" verse - she doesn't hit that top of her range often. Also I'm general her finally releasing this must feel like some form of closure for her.

So the fight scene was improv! Amazing job! It was to depict the gaslighting and emotional manipulation Jake did to her throughout the relationship. The scarf is also strongly thought to be a metaphor for her virginity. He can’t give that back. He took her “innocence”. Also his current girlfriend is 24 I believe? Maybe younger? And he is in his 40s. That’s the punchline to the joke! If age was the reason he gave her for breaking up with her then he lied cause he hasn’t dated anyone over 25 since her.

I really don’t think we should be discussing Taylor’s virginity. We can talk about the themes and metaphors within the context of the song without directing applying it to Taylor who is a real life person and is very much deserving of privacy. I think there’s a difference between analyzing the song as a story, as a piece of writing and picking it apart to create some narrative about real life events that are frankly none of our business. If we’re going to be doing that, we’re just as bad as trashy tabloids.
The scarf is not a metaphor, and we have photo proof for the scarf, only difference the original scarf wasn't red. it was like a navy blue or black with white stripes. Tons of photos with Taylor in it and then after the breakup pics of him still with it wearing it.

I have been in a situation where I have avoided such small signs, so I do not look needy or look like I am overreacting. i love every reaction made to this song / video the kitchen scene always makes you go speechless, it’s too good
It’s amazing. So the kitchen scene. Yes a 10 ur age difference but she didnt need him to pay attention to her. At that age and with 30 yr olds, she couldnt hold her own snd needed him to bring her into the conversation to make her feel comfortable with these strangers. He didn’t do that, instead ignored her and tossed her hand aside. She felt left out and uncomfortable as a 20 yr old would probably feel in that situation. Then he called her crazy, insane, weird, selfish. He gaslighted her. The age difference was cringe and let to a power imbalance in the relationship. The kitchen scene in particular where he invalidated the way she was feeling.

someone said that the scene where they are danicing in the kitchen and Taylor mentions the refrigerator light, it shows that the blue light of the fridge is a reference of how cold he was and the sunlight thorugh the window, shows the warmth of her.

Interesting little Easter Egg. In the credits you'll see that the guy playing 'him' 13 years after is somebody called Jake Lyon. Swifties have determined that there is no actor nor anybody fitting that description with that name. Recommendations? Anything Taylor Swift. I'm here for it.
He's actually listed as a Gaffer on the film, but it's interesting that instead of just having Dylan film the last scene, she chose a random crew member named Jake. Her mind! There is also a locket she's selling on her store that you'll see hanging from the rear view mirror of the car(a 1989 model) then Sadie's wearing it, then it's with other jewelry on the vanity where Taylor's getting ready-perhaps reminiscent of the necklace from Out of the Woods? Maybe another 1989 hint? If it is, she's a devious genius!
