Exactly! People who are complaining about the fade out being so long, what do you want? A long song with so many emotions running through it and then it just stops abruptly? No man, the fade out is so important in songs like this because it gives you time to recover and recollect yourself from that whole experience. It’s like calming down after you screamed out a bunch of angry/emotional sh!t. Love the fadeout.
I think if you’ve ever had that one relationship that tore you up inside when it ended, you feel this song in your bones. As a 20 year old university student, I dated someone 9 years older. This song just captures that feeling of being young and hopeful and having your idealism absolutely crushed under someone else’s cynicism because the gap in your life experiences is a chasm. I was also skeptical that the 10 minute version would live up to what we all wanted from it, but man, it’s truly exceptional. Taylor has a real gift.
I didn't even dated a guy much older (just a few years) but he crushed absolutely everything in me. I'm over it now (I'm kinda suprised the song doesn't hit nearly as much as it did anymore) but most of the pieces are still shattered on the floor and I just can't pick them up (kinda like "I see the permanent damage you dkd to me" 🙈) it's concerning how many of us have this experience.
@@jankova0013 I feel like she tore parts of this out of my diary. We started dating a few months before my 21st birthday, and he broke up with me about a week after a stalking/carjacking incident that left me suffering severe anxiety, and about 2 weeks before my birthday. He said he just didn’t have time to deal with everything I needed at that moment. It felt like I was the bad guy there. I’m over it now, but this song and the film have me thinking about how many of us have gone through something like this.
This. A lot of people don’t get it - they’re like “she dated him for like two months”. But if you’ve had that experience like I did too, of someone that you feel like you’re going to be with forever because you have so much in common and then they leave you, this song is so relatable. My favorite line of the new song is “Any time now, he’s gonna say it’s love. You never called it what it was.”

The original all too well is undeniably the fandoms favorite song because of the emotion it draws from us all. I love the outro. It’s like she’s soothing herself, reminding herself it really did happen, she was there and she didn’t make it up. It’s how you feel after a breakup and suddenly you’ve lost everything. It feels like a nightmare and you’re constantly saying “but I was there, we were happy, I remember it all”. It’s truly incredible how she manages to put these indescribable feelings and thoughts into words we can all relate to.
honestly, i think everybody is completely understanding as to why it was difficult to talk at length about this song. ive never gone through a real relationship or a breakup, and this song still made me tear up, and im not even an emotional person. also, one of my first thoughts at hearing the fade out was "haha blake HATES fadeouts.... i think he'd LOVE this one"
people are saying that anyone who has experienced a breakup will feel this in their bones, but I also think we should talk about how this can apply to friendship break ups even-I know some of the lyrics are exclusively relating to romantic relationships but as someone who has experienced many broken friendships, I can definitely relate to this too and it holds a special place in my heart
When Blake said, "I remember this song," it felt like he also remembered the pain he once felt. I hope we're all okay haha Taylor does things to us lol
I didn't know I needed an attractive and knowledgeable dude with an eight week old kitten reacting to my favorite song of all time. Life truly does weird things.
This version definitely hits anyone hard. I understand how difficult it is for you reacting as the lyrics itself will left you speachless...including me who's experienced this kind of emotions. Thanks for this video. Looking forward to other videos from you.
It's difficult to keep my attention for a 3 minute song sometimes, but Taylor did this perfectly and it doesn't feel like 10 minutes go by at all. That is what's called great song writing
I am 61 years old, happily married, 4 kids, 4 grandkids and this song took me way back to my senior year in high school with a guy I loved with every cell in my body who broke up with me after graduation. Looking back, I didn’t think I could live without him. This song brought back every single one of those feelings, even some I never realized I had until now
not a taylor swift fan in general but she is a tremendous artist, musician and song writer. this all too well version is probably one of the best songs in recent memory. the most impressive aspect on the SNL performance was 10 minutes of lyrics without a break. that’s remarkable in itself.
Rolling Stone listed it as one of the 100 best songs of the 21st century. It's a searing emotional roller coaster. It makes everyone emotional to some degree. You would be wrong if you didn't feel that. Great reaction.
When original 5+ minute version of this song was released, you could hear the pain in her voice. Now that she’s older and time has passed, it’s not as noticeable in her voice. However, lyrics are truly heartbreaking. Makes you want to give Taylor a big hug 🤗💕
This version had a certain 53 year old man who was driving down the highway at 75mph in a police car bawling his ass off. That guy looked a lot like me.
I appreciate that you mentioned that the specific details in her writing actually makes the song more relatable. I feel like the conventional wisdom is that a pop song has to be general to be relatable but she proves that's not true.
I love how descriptive this song is. It's songs like these that you can really tell what Taylor's roots are because this sort of narrative storytelling isn't seen very often outside of the Country genre
Blake are u okay?? I hope everything's alright.. Hearing the song itself absolutely shattered my heart all over again, but watching your reaction is just heartbreaking 🙁
Blake, I so appreciate you being open about your emotions. She has been ripping my heart apart for years especially the original of this and the phrase "because it smells like me". She's the best.
I have to say...your reaction was a lot like mine. I didn't know what to expect. My daughters are die hard Taylor fans. I have always liked her descriptive lyrical style. This version, however, hit me hard. She is definitely a true craftsman. I was stunned. My first boyfriend was older than me, and it ended like this. She captures the joy and excitement of the feelings of love, and then the darkness and pain of the fall. Then the strength it takes to pick up the pieces and move on, but the memory will always be locked away in the secret place in your heart. A true masterpiece. Thanks for sharing.
I feel like the shift on the lyrics from “I remember” to “you remember” isn’t talked about enough because it applies to those relationships in which one of them pretends it wasn’t as meaningful as it was, however it’s just pretend and Taylor knew that.
I’ve just read an interview with Taylor and another with Jake G….who seemed to embrace that Taylor wrote about their three month relationship and told her he’d listened to the album at the time of its release… and found it bittersweet and like flicking through a photo album .. which was a kind and mature response … because Taylor, to her credit, captured it’s emotional integrity quite beautifully. 🐑🐑🇳🇿🇳🇿
I think the “crumpled up piece of paper lying here” is a description of the heartache most of us have felt at one time in our lives. Great reaction, thanks!
I think the specificities help you remember the parallels in your own life. She paints a picture in your mind on what happened. Then, your mind draws parallels on what happened in your life that conveys the same mix of emotions. It doesn't matter that the specifics doesn't match because the emotion did.
Absolutely - that is gifted songwriting! When you can paint a picture with your words that makes people of all ages and walks of life relate in countless ways, you've created a masterpiece. If you haven't heard it, listen to "invisible string" off of..... Shoot. Either Folklore or Evermore. One of the last lines is "hell was the journey but it brought me heaven".... And it feels full circle.
This song for sure hits hard even when you've never experienced these emotions. I for one have never been through anything like this but the song is so powerful and I feel the pain.
“This one really hits” is just the Taylor Swift effect. Thanks for sharing your authentic self and reaction ❤️ I don’t really watch producer reactions but I come back every time to yours!
I was skeptical, too; but every time I have listened to this new 10 minute version, I fall in love with it more. You are so right, it is perfect. Taylor nailed it. Thanks for doing this video. I'm a new viewer and I appreciated you sharing your impressions and thoughts on the "refreshed" song.
No need to apologize for getting emotional! I've never been in a relationship so I've never experienced a breakup but this version still absolutely wrecked me. Her lyrics have always been my favorite thing about her because of the stories they tell. Also your cat is adorable 💕
I listened to this song when I was about 24 and going through a serious break up. It was the shorter version, but it still broke me but somehow made me feel better because I was able to relate to someone. Taylor is a lyrical genius simply because she can help a girl that she’s never met feel like someone understands her.
Thank you for allowing yourself to be affected by this, Blake, and sharing your vulnerability. It's definitely my top reaction video from you because of it. We need to see your humanness, too, and it was very touching to me.
Even if I am in a happy relationship, this version made me feel like I am going through a break up. Taylor Swift is definitely something else, my heart hurts.
We waited nearly 10 years for this and I couldn't stop sobbing the first time I heard it in full. All Too Well has always been one of my absolute favorite songs of Taylors. Even at the Eras tour I couldn't help crying while I screamed my heart out. It was SO therapeutic and cathartic... "I'd like to be my old self again, but I'm still trying to find it."
when you said it sounds more pop. technically, taylor wanted the album to be more on a pop side but her ex label didn't not allow it. but now in the new version, she has the power to change it a bit to what it's supposed to sound like to her likings.
The 10 min version is so cathartic, especially after the 5min mark. Youre like woah, yeah you effing tell that Tswift. It's so amazing and being in the same age group as Taylor, you feel like grew up with her and realize we all ended up okay. Just the way she showed "Her" at the end of the short film.
what I love about this version of all too well is that it feels like the calmer version of the one on the 2012 red album. Although its the full length, it's like, there's no reason to be frustrated anymore. Don't get me wrong, the song still emits anger and sadness through her voice but I think for her there's a sense of peace knowing that she's been able to say what she's wanted. I'll be screaming the lyrics like I'm in pain though.
From my understanding she actually wrote the 10 minute version kind of on the spot as she was feeling the emotion. Then released the 4-5 minute one. But her singing it now that she’s on the other side of the pain, may give it a different sound
I feel like if Taylor ever saw this video she would FREAK OUT over Blake's kitten XD. Like what a T Swift thing to do having a cat in the reaction video
This album originally came out when I was 15 and was in the middle of my very first heartbreak. The comfort that the entire album and especially this song had given me was probably one of the most beautiful things ever. Listening to this album brought me back to sitting on the bus with my iPod touch in hand, head pressed up against the window while endless tears streamed down my cheeks. Taylor is seriously an amazing and beyond talented artist.
Jake Gyllenhaal, DIED DEAD UH HUH, People don't realise how fragile anyone is at the age of 19/20/21, I'd go as far as to say that we're the most fragile at this age as a collective. Anyone that we're with during these years leaves a very permanent impression in our lives be it wonderful or scarring. I'm close to being 23 now but no matter what I do now I'll always be carefully catching the red flags that I ignored at this age, then again Taylor's lived a lifetime since. I'm so glad that this exists, that this talks to people slightly younger in age who don't know anything about themselves yet and questioning whether they're acting crazy or acting a lil too extra. This made me cry but also so proud of where she and I both of us have come in our respective journey's since. ❤️ Love how expressive you are emotionally :')
IM0 around the time she mentions snow, the song starts emitting winter vibe although it had an autumn vibe before when she mentioned autumn in the beginning
I just got married yet I sob to this song because I feel HER heartbreak and remembering being gaslighted in past relationships. It is the most beautiful song I've ever heard.
If Taylor was watching I think you having a kitten running around would only make her love this more. But really, it's such a talent to keep the audience's attention going in a 10 minute song when the attention span of the modern world is so fast.
One thing that amazes me the most about this song is how she keeps going back to topics of the beginning, like her memories are playing back in her head and she's stuck with it, how traumatizing was this relationship to her and how she shaped it perfectly well in a pop song. On the bridge she mentions the old scarf he kept, the same that were mentioned in the first verse, the way Jake put the blame on her "you said if we had been closer in age maybe it would've been fine" and she says "i get older but your lovers stays my age", how the narrative is so well constructed and has no gaps. In the end, the fade out is not just to show how the relationship and the person is fading away from her life, but also word painting of how it left scars that are repeating in her mind, she definitely remember it all too well and probably will never forget how she felt like. This is her masterpiece and I think we all can agree with that.
This song hits me every time and now with all the extra stuff I’m a mess and goosebumps and tears and all the feelings…. Fave lyric: every time you double cross my mind….so damn good
"You kept me like a secret but I kept you like an oath." Most amazing line and your face doesn't react one bit. How on earth do you keep your chill?!?!
been a long time since I'm watching Blake's videos and it's the first time I've seen him getting soo emotional over a song ... All too well is just that song for everyone I guess 🥺
I think vocally is what gets me the most. Her delivery takes me there to the point of breaking but then I don’t because we begin to accept at the right second

Taylor: Fuck the patriarchy!
Blake: Nice 😃
Lol
Taylor’s ability to be specific, yet universal, is her superpower
no bc the way this song just ripped out everyone’s hearts and tore them to shreds-
She has a better voice, more control, and clear enunciation - Love IT!
Totally!
That’s so true. Some of the old songs I like them more now
honestly, i think everybody is completely understanding as to why it was difficult to talk at length about this song. ive never gone through a real relationship or a breakup, and this song still made me tear up, and im not even an emotional person.
also, one of my first thoughts at hearing the fade out was "haha blake HATES fadeouts.... i think he'd LOVE this one"
Same, there's very few songs that make me tear up and this is one of them
Sameeee
the best glow up is watching the lyric video for this song and seeing Taylor recording this with a smile on her face
ikr it’s such a weird thing that i’m watching her recording it happily but i’m dying watching and listening to the song
people are saying that anyone who has experienced a breakup will feel this in their bones, but I also think we should talk about how this can apply to friendship break ups even-I know some of the lyrics are exclusively relating to romantic relationships but as someone who has experienced many broken friendships, I can definitely relate to this too and it holds a special place in my heart
Well said
I thought I was only one feeling this way. 😭 I relate this with my broken friendships too.
i was feeling the same. Having a broken friendships also relatable with the song.
I feel the same thing
Friendship breakup is one of the worst feeling. And you’re right I think this song apply there as well
When Blake said, "I remember this song," it felt like he also remembered the pain he once felt. I hope we're all okay haha Taylor does things to us lol
it’s okay blake we are all crumbling here, this is her best song, has ever been
I didn't know I needed an attractive and knowledgeable dude with an eight week old kitten reacting to my favorite song of all time. Life truly does weird things.
Right? We truly do live in a society. 😂
A cat in a video about Taylor couldn't be more appropriate 😍🥰️
To think that she was just 21 or 22 when she wrote the entire ten minute version. The talent this woman posessed even at such a tender age.
This version definitely hits anyone hard. I understand how difficult it is for you reacting as the lyrics itself will left you speachless...including me who's experienced this kind of emotions. Thanks for this video. Looking forward to other videos from you.
When Blake said, "This takes you on a journey." And I was like , yes it does everytime I listen to this song . 🥺
Fr it’s like a trance. Very few songs do that for me
It's difficult to keep my attention for a 3 minute song sometimes, but Taylor did this perfectly and it doesn't feel like 10 minutes go by at all.
You remember all too well.
Thanks for sharing. Speaks to how powerful song is.
I appreciate that you mentioned that the specific details in her writing actually makes the song more relatable. I feel like the conventional wisdom is that a pop song has to be general to be relatable but she proves that's not true.
SIDE NOTE: i literally can identify jack antanoff production ANYWHERE because of you
Right?!😭😭😭
The chimes and horns and fade out makes this sounds like a fairy tale or a book you are reading- it gives it such a dreamy vibe
This has production by Jack Antanoff written all over it, and I'm here for it
I love how descriptive this song is. It's songs like these that you can really tell what Taylor's roots are because this sort of narrative storytelling isn't seen very often outside of the Country genre
Blake reacting to All Too Well (10 Minute Version) with a cat in his lap is certified Taylor s Version
She's the best.
nothing more on brand than listening to Taylor Swift whit a cute cat
Where can I find it?
where can i find it? would u mind to drop the link?
.
taylor actually reached out to jake gyllenhaal and when asked in an interview she said that thats how he responded.
@@saumya6470 Not sure if that's true. Interview doesn't exist on Jake's part. He was ok at time but now he doesn't seem so.
I think the “crumpled up piece of paper lying here” is a description of the heartache most of us have felt at one time in our lives. Great reaction, thanks!
the people have waited for this
that's trueree
it’s insane how this song which is so specific to taylor and her experience yet so many people worldwide relate so much to it
I think the specificities help you remember the parallels in your own life.
She paints a picture in your mind on what happened.
Then, your mind draws parallels on what happened in your life that conveys the same mix of emotions.
It doesn't matter that the specifics doesn't match because the emotion did.
This comment tho
Absolutely - that is gifted songwriting! When you can paint a picture with your words that makes people of all ages and walks of life relate in countless ways, you've created a masterpiece. If you haven't heard it, listen to "invisible string" off of..... Shoot. Either Folklore or Evermore. One of the last lines is "hell was the journey but it brought me heaven".... And it feels full circle.
right now we're witnessing Blake break in front of us as he listens to All Too Well. yea it felt like going through 5 different divorces for me too.
This song for sure hits hard even when you've never experienced these emotions. I for one have never been through anything like this but the song is so powerful and I feel the pain.
"It absolutely needs to be 10 minutes. You have to get all that out in it. It's perfect"
I agree with you 💯
“This one really hits” is just the Taylor Swift effect. Thanks for sharing your authentic self and reaction ❤️ I don’t really watch producer reactions but I come back every time to yours!
That “you call me up again just to break me like a promise” will ALWAYS hit me home 💓 even if I keep hearing it repeatedly
HI! I posted an acoustic cover of this song on my channel! it was such a hard song to sing:( so it would mean A WHOLE LOT if you check it out!!! 🍂🍂🍂🍂
My favorite channels are all reacting to Taylor and I’m here for it! What a day :)
I agree. ❤
the way you recognised jack,,,great minds :)
"And it would glisten as it fell, I remember it all too well" It's just my favourite, gets me everytime.
that's okay, Blake! this song is so intense and hits us! Taylor's such a songwriter!
when you said it sounds more pop. technically, taylor wanted the album to be more on a pop side but her ex label didn't not allow it. but now in the new version, she has the power to change it a bit to what it's supposed to sound like to her likings.
But her singing it now that she’s on the other side of the pain, may give it a different sound
i’ll miss screaming the old one with her but i do love this new one with extra lyrics and different tone to it all too well is my fav
I believe she is in the top 5 songwriters i've ever heard and i've heard a lot in my 68 years, including non 'pop' writers.
I agree!
Love how expressive you are emotionally :')
IM0 around the time she mentions snow, the song starts emitting winter vibe although it had an autumn vibe before when she mentioned autumn in the beginning
That kitten is paid to make this video wholesome
She is playing this song tomorrow on SNL... I hope you check it out. I think all swifties got emotional on this song
Seeing her sing this live is in my top 5 life experiences
You're not alone dude. Our hearts are breaking all over again. Also, love your kitty.
This song hits me every time and now with all the extra stuff I’m a mess and goosebumps and tears and all the feelings….
Fave lyric: every time you double cross my mind….so damn good
"And I was thinkin' on the drive down: Any time now
He's gonna say it's love
You never called it what it was" hits
"You kept me like a secret but I kept you like an oath." Most amazing line and your face doesn't react one bit. How on earth do you keep your chill?!?!
I thought this a few times, too!!
I found that line was one of the most sublime...
could I have the timestamp?
@@justjahh_ 6:51
I thought the same thing!
been a long time since I'm watching Blake's videos and it's the first time I've seen him getting soo emotional over a song ... All too well is just that song for everyone I guess 🥺
I think vocally is what gets me the most. Her delivery takes me there to the point of breaking but then I don’t because we begin to accept at the right second
this is such a beautiful review?? just to watch you listen and feel this song authentically and honestly was so lovely
This 10 mins version literally changed my perception about the 5 mins version ...
Oh, Blake … we all took that second … it’s amazing how she just takes you there where it hurts
I love how authentic your reaction is. I think you have experienced a heartbreak that made you think of your past and how Taylor was able to dug that from you. ❤
I’m impressed that you can so carefully critique the music and its production, yet be so unfazed by the lyrics.
Ahh Blake, can I hug you?
One of the things I appreciate most is your honesty and you being real in your videos. This is maybe hard for you to post but it isvery appreciated!
Blake you nailed this review/reaction! Thank you for being so honest with your emotions. This song is absolutely heartbreaking but also LYRICAL GOLD!! The line “ you call me up again just to break me like a promise, so casually cruel in the name of being honest… 💔😢Omg! Just PERFECT phrasing! The way her lyrics just make you feel like you were there!! Just AMAZING! It’s like she wrote a heartbreaking novel in a ten minute song?! WTH! This version has GOT to be nominated for a Grammy!! I also really appreciate how you commented on not just the emotional lyrics and vocals, but also how you felt about the musicality and the fade at the songs end as well. It was nice to hear a professionals insight. How appropriate that your doing a Taylor Swift reaction and you just happen to have an adorable kitten at your side! Lol! Just puur-fect! 😉 Thanks again for this great HONEST reaction great job!! 👍🏼
