Very thorough and informative. I've been researching 2nd Gens for quite a while now. My next sports car purchase is definitely going to be one. Given that yours is a 2001, do you know if it falls within the first half of 01 or the 2nd half of production? I ask because I've read about Chrysler changing the fuel filler/tank in the 01.5+ models, which would eventually split/crack where the neck meets the tank. The repair requires procuring an older style tank and cutting out part of the trunk to perform the replacement which kind of sucks. Anyways, I see you are in Jersey, I am in Connecticut. if you ever want to meet up to talk cars or do a collaboration, let me know.
Great video. I purchased my 01 gts last year with 5400 miles on the clock. Just love it. Question, interested in an aftermarket exhaust desiring a better note with more sporty noise but without deafing as I plan on spending plenty of time in car and on extended trips.... I will not add headers, want cats. Do u have a recommendation. Thanks
there are a lot of good exhaust videos on youtube if your not sure what system you want. i personally like borla or belanger cat back sound. corsa is kind of raspy and doesnt sound right in my opinion. the cat back systems really make the car sound better over the OEM one. if you dont want it to be too loud just make sure it has the extra set of mufflers just before the exhaust tips, (some systems have just a straight pipe at the end). mine is set up that way and its not annoying at all but it sounds good when you roll on the throttle.
Thanks for ur reply. I have listened to many on the web but hard to find the interior sounds as well. My fav so far is the video of gray gts with billyboat. Said no headers but no comments on Cat situation. From what I have read BB is on the louder side but this vid sounded so good and interior db seemed fine until full on...which is exactly what I would like; moderate db while cruising and opens up with throttle. When searching for my gts I drove a 98 without cats, side muffler and an aftermarket on the back...now I do like sound, but I could not converse with passenger at any throttle other than idle. Again thanks for your videos, best I have seen on web. David
Michael Norris I'm actually not sure which company's system it is. It has no marking or numbers on it but it is a very nice well build system. It looks like a corsa but I'm not sure.
It’s something you should look for but it’s a well-known thing and I would not be overly concerned about it just check the door jam and the rockers for it
@@EnthusiastsGarage thanks for the quick reply! This car has the bubbling by the driver door stanchion, roof by front windshield and rear spoiler. So it's all contained to that one panel. Unfortunately, one of the only non-removable panels.
if you want to know what makes an ACR different check out my ACR features and aspects video. with the final edition cars, they were all red with white stripes they had red stitching on the steering wheel and shift knob along with a dash plaque.
About to go look at my first Viper, 2000 GTS, does anyone any recommendations for inspeting? Im looking at having Lemon Squad do the PPI but in terms of when I am there looking at it for the first time, anything I should be looking out for? It has 14K miles.
these were street legal cars, they all did and were federally mandated to have wipers from the factory. a few people took them off but a stock car will have wipers.
@@EnthusiastsGarage I think the values have plateaued for awhile, so I will wait to save a larger downpayment. Plus I still need to learn how to drive stick.
The RT10 had a separate small key that allowed the small window underneath the simulated rollbar to fold in and you could reach in through that and open the door.
you really know your viper, man.
Jackman thanks, lots of years of research.
than u Sir ! Large amount of information, presented with a clear, precise delivery. Starting my search for a gen 2 GTS > this was big help
Just got a 2001 GTS. Pick it up Thursday in Cali. Can't wait. Its the Blue with White strips.
good luck with it
Garry, are you enjoying the GTS? i am looking for the same car.
That is the one I want!
Congrats! Favorite color combo!
your probbaly never gonna see this comment but if you do then i gotta ask how was the ownership like?
My dream car
Man, these are literally as close to a Cobra as one can get without a trust fund. I'm surprised they're still relatively affordable.
loved it dude, thanks for the video, just picked up a barn find acr
cool, the ACR's are starting to noticeably pick up in value. a low mileage one is coming up at mecum harrisburg in august.
Enthusiasts Garage agreed this one isnt a low low mile car
96 RT/10 Black silver stripes….NJ. Thanks for the informative vid.
Very good overview. I'm going to watch every single viper video you have once I buy mine
Great video! I can't wait to put this buyers guide to use for myself!
Sad than don't have the 220mph like the max speed in the speedometer

i have an early 2001
Good info, wish I had come across this before I bought mine
Did you get screwed in some way? I'll be looking for one soon myself and am doing as much research as possible so I don't get screwed.
The gen 2 is the coolest Viper ever made, and no other car comes close.
Awesome video! and gorgeous car!!!
Thanks for another informative review 👍🏻🐍
You Have such a Great Car Sir

Great video.. well done.
Great overview! I am about to consider getting a Gen 2 ACR myself! What aftermarket exhaust is on yours?
Michael Norris I'm actually not sure which company's system it is. It has no marking or numbers on it but it is a very nice well build system. It looks like a corsa but I'm not sure.
I thought it might be a Corsa. Thanks for your uploads. Checking them all out now!
Great video
How do you keep the Viper logos on the valve covers so clean? What products do you use?
I tape off the red part off and lightly sand them with a sanding block.
Nobody really talks about the paint bubbling that can occur on some of these.. Should it be something to be overly concerned about?
It’s something you should look for but it’s a well-known thing and I would not be overly concerned about it just check the door jam and the rockers for it

Very helpful! What are the main differences between a 2002 ACR and a 2002 Final Edition car besides the wheels?
if you want to know what makes an ACR different check out my ACR features and aspects video. with the final edition cars, they were all red with white stripes they had red stitching on the steering wheel and shift knob along with a dash plaque.
Enthusiasts Garage outside of that, I believe they are the same mechanically with ACR's of that time, right?
ACR's had different suspension, wheels, belts, intake, and some cosmetic bits. a few had the delete package.

I like and I subscribed. GOOD video.
Good video but I spotted something not correct with your ACR you have wipers! I'm looking for a 2002 final edition ACR. Keeping it stock.
these were street legal cars, they all did and were federally mandated to have wipers from the factory. a few people took them off but a stock car will have wipers.
Great video and great car.
Very nice video!👍😁
Should I take out a car loan for a Viper?
totally up to you. it might be harder to get approved and the apr might be more than a new car but you should be able to get it.
@@EnthusiastsGarage I think the values have plateaued for awhile, so I will wait to save a larger downpayment. Plus I still need to learn how to drive stick.
@@TheCoolOwen don’t wait too long as values are slowly on the rise and finding a good clean car at a good price is getting harder.
How do you open the door on an 97-02 RT/10. They have the electronic door handle but no hatch to open to reach in?
The RT10 had a separate small key that allowed the small window underneath the simulated rollbar to fold in and you could reach in through that and open the door.
@@EnthusiastsGarage I knew about how to open the GTS but I never herd how to open the Gen 2 RT/10...until now! Thanks for info!
Good Video. Very informative.
Great video!!
Beautiful Gen II !
I just want anyone idc if its a regular rt/10 or gts i just need one in my life just any color thats not red or blue
Good man thank you for telling who asked you
You’re selling the Viper?!

What is the clicking noise?
407ForRent I believe it’s from the external microphone
Enthusiasts Garage Thank you subbed👍
Le Ma? That's funny.
Yeah that's hood is $15,000 to replace! So don't buy a hood with a broken corner!
What is a cream puff eninge?
