Description: In a climate where claims of being the greatest of all time rage in every sport, it was our honor and pleasure to sit down with someone who can make that claim with little dispute. Taking the chair of reflection was none other than Road Warrior Animal, without a doubt one half of the greatest tag team to ever grace the squared circle.
As with his wrestling career Animal pulls no punches as he comes out firing on all cylinders! He talks candidly and openly about the current state of the business and why he feels he has never been brought back by the WWE. His frustration shows through about how he feels underutilized and to a certain degree disrespected by the powers that be in the WWE. His emotional retrospect of his brother Road Warrior Hawk are as memorable as they are touching. He talks about the downfall of Hawk and the circumstances surrounding it. He walks us through the rise of the famed tag-team in all parts of the globe.
This is your opportunity to walk in the shoes of a man who would rise to the highest possible plateau in our beloved business. Feel like you are in the room with us as we take an unscripted and personal journey inside the mind of a man who was told he would never make it. A athlete that would gives us the memories of our youth and still have the honesty to share the tale. Yes we debate a lot about who is the greatest, but with this man, this team, the answer is pretty clear.

Who is "Sags"?
@@chadsknnr One half of The Nasty Boys. Brian Knobbs & Jerry Saggs
Did he say he's from Philly???
O Dot Yeah, I think so. I always thought he was from Detroit, though . . . .
This channel's awesome!!!
I still got an LOD pillow case from early 90s. I remember walking up to the merchandise table, knowing my Dad didn't have a lot money. With so much different merch, I'm glad I chose LOD. They'll always have that special spot in my memory/ heart. Thank You Pop, Thank you Wrestling...
This is awesome 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
They sold pillow cases at the gimmick table? that's awesome.
Road Warriors when they came out of the locker room coming out to the ring, the crowd went crazy, they definitely were one of the best tag teams ever.
The best tagteam in history handsdown.
They'd come running out slide under the lower rope and take care their opponents in less than 3-5 minutes.
Wouldn't say Best but "Most Over".
Them and Demolition- i loved axe and smash
Not my era but I loved these guys I remember back when they fought mnm that’s when I first got my glimpse of greatness
This guy can tell a story and he is funny. Rip Animal. I miss late 80’s early 90’s wrestling days.
Just putting this out there. Road Warrior Animal looks like he could be Chuck Liddell's big brother!
Love it Reodor!!! Chuck and Animal=2 Legit Bad Asses!!!!!
I thought the same thing, Iceman Jr.
If they ever did a movie on animal and hawk, chuck liddel could play animal in a movie
He does look a little bit like him. .I had no idea Animal and John Laurinaitis are brothers until about a year go.
@@peteandrepete528 , I thought Animal was his dad ?? Isn't John the NFL player ?
I’m 38, I watched LOD all my life. These 2 guys when their music hit the fans went crazy. Definitely miss watching them.
Me too bru
Whats a rush
Facts! The minute that intro dropped, everyone went crazy
RIP ANIMAL thank you for the memories
RIP Animal. You and Hawk were the best ever. Very sad you guys are no longer with us.
LOD is still my favorite tag team. RIP Hawk. Much love to Animal.
THE GOAT
Road warrior's
Dinosaur wrestling
@Johnny Bravo I gotta go with The Road Warriors, but Demolition had the best theme song in all of wrestling.
hart foundation #1 for me
I'm glad I was a wrestling fan back in the 1980s & 1990s. I sort of lost track of keeping up with wrestling after the 2000's, but from these stories I hear from various wrestlers, I definitely appreciate what they have done for fans. Like most wrestlers once you hear about their stories, most are genuinely cool and approachable guys.
Yea I liked it too. It was a real bummer finding out Hawk and Animal were gay.
@@rockscousteau Waat daa faak 🤣
They weren't gay they were married to women and had children.
That's shitty deal knowing they weren't taking care off the way they should have been. Appreciate all you did for the fans. You are both immortal and will never be forgotten. All the best
RIP hawk, you were one of my fav wrestlers, love animal and his stories
Animal seems everyone has this image of you at your biggest. And fail to realize we all get older. Most wrestlers of years ago are slowly dying off. Be thankful that the remaining wrestlers are still here. Sharing their lives with us.
I for one am grateful animal for the time out of your life to entertain the world. And the greatest memories. Thank you
This video was uploaded 2 years ago, so I imagine it was shot a short time before upload.
Man. Animal looks so healthy, happy, and alive. It's shocking that he just passed. Not to sound heartless, but when Hawk passed away, it wasn't a huge shock at the time bc I remember reading and seeing (when he was on TV) his struggles with alcohol and drugs.
Life isn't fair sometimes.
Rest is power Road Warriors. Your names shall live on forever.
healthy? nothing says healthy like a huge giant greasy, sauce drizzled pizza sitting next to the guy who is crushing the whole thing himself. Real healthy for sure.
"You got a 500lb ass in your face, you can't move it. "
Gold
Thank you for speaking my mind! 🤣👏👏👏👏👏👏👍✌🙏
Man, Animal is such a sweetheart. Always love a good Haku story.
The Legion Of Doom!! My all time favorite tag team!! Full face paint, eating pizza and shooting the shit! Made my day.
WHHHAAAAAT A RUSH. One of the greatest tag teams of all time. Epitomy of tag team wrestling with a wicked finisher.
The Fox 88 Knocking heads off with that top rope clothesline.
Worked out, bench, with Hawk in Omaha once. He was So fkn strong! He warmed up with my current max and pushed me threw 4 more sets, I hit 350lb that day. Great time! I was beat!
Me and friends used to work out all the time hoping one day we would be as big and strong as Hawk and Animal. It never happened 😞
Animal is cool dude, I met him personally. He loves sharing his experiences
Flair has a ton of stories about Haku... the toughest guy he’s ever seen...
these guys were the shit in the 80s..love it..beasts
i pretty much guarantee if you ask anybody to name 5 tag teams past and present rod warriors/legion of DOOM and REAM 3D are there every time they deffo need to be in W.W.E H.O.F . Same as Chyna and Chris Beniot but thats a bit iffy lol
They got inducted in 2011
*Road Warrior Animal was of the most yoked and best proportioned wrestlers I’ve ever seen. Awesome guy*
After hearing a number of these stories, one question continues to occur to me: What idiot sees Haku in a bar and thinks, "Let me mess with that guy!"?
A doofus really into pain?
You said it .(an idiot!)
Someone who doesn't want his eye...
Well you answered yourself. “After hearing a number of these stories...” well, those guys didn’t hear any stories.
@@auralplex So they found out the hard way👊
Always loved Animal.
And, of course, a couple more legendary Haku and Andre stories.
Loved there spiked shoulder armour. Legion of Doom greatest tag team ever.
Which ones the metal ones from the naw days or the rubber ones when they wrestled in the wwe?
@@charlesmack6235 both

Them legendary
Steiner bros of the late 80’s/ early 90’s hands down most innovative and best tag team of all time!
They are the best tagteam ever !!!! Hands down.
I can't believe that king Haku is still wrestling. Seen him on new Japan pro wrestling. I swear, that man is stronger than an ox.
That Haku is a different level of human specimen 😂😂
Dude still makes a mohawk look stylish with only 4 hairs on his head.
The interviewers haircut is not much better
😂😂😂😂
Lmao
@@gracom1977 it's because it isn't a cut...😁🍻
14 hairs..but who's counting
The Road Warriors/Legion Of Doom....
In the top 5 of GREATEST TAG TEAMS OF ALL TIME!
Seeing Animal and Hawk get legit pissed in the ring was priceless at The Cap Center back in the late 80s. Jobber hit Hawk with a real shot ... Hawk gorilla pressed dude ...threw him out out the ring and his leg hit the rail, snapping his leg. Back when they had the blue railing.
Pure Racist Bully that got knock out stiff twice once in Japan by John Parrella 1992 and Too Cold Scorpio in Korea 1995 ....
Death retired from his normal job and now sells insurance. He had a near Haku experience.
I was not a WCW guy at all... but I loved the Road Warriors! Absolute bad ass dudes!
Remeber when the Barbarian teamed up with the Warlord..That was badaass..
The Powers of Pain.
Powers of pain good old days
I enjoyed the meng and barbarian team more - faces of fear. Powers of pain just looked like a road warriors knockoff, which it was. Faces of fear haku and barbarian meshed perfectly.
When I was a kid I was excited to watch the road warriors
The legion of doom were the most exciting tag team ever. Loved the road warriors then. An still the best tag team that wwf ever had. Thanks for all the great memories hawk an animal provided me an thousands of fans. You guys were the best wwf had to offer. Luv you guys.
Animal seems like a stand up guy. Very genuine.
I love how he's wearing his road warriors face paint. #legend
i could listen to him all day... RIP
The Warriors had "Iron Man" as there entrance music in the 80's....... nuff said.🏆
Their
Great entertainer, great storyteller. RIP
road warriors my favorite all time tag team.. I never knew Animal was from Philly.
When Animal said Im from Philly I rather take care of the problem right there and now..
true Im from Philly thats how we are. no bullshit..
I asked him where in Philly but he never answered. I believe he lived her until he was about 13 or so.
that bite of food out of nowhere during the interview, Animal must of been starving lol
Rip road warrior, Andre and Piper 🙏🏻
"If Andre didn't like ya, he'd put you in the middle of the ring, sit on you and Fart in your face!" 😂🤣 LMFAO! Lots of love from your home of the Twin Cities! Fantastic interview! ❤
Rip Road Warriors thank you for the awesome childhood memories
Back in TheDay, you could tell that Animal was the More "Level-Headed" of the Team.
Love how he’s sitting there telling a story with full face paint
Wrestling stories are the best. You don't get these lines in regular stories: "You got a 500-pound a$$ in your face." "I'm going to eat your eyeball." (From a Terry Funk interview): "Then I saw there was a knife stuck in my leg. I was wondering how it got there."
The Andre story 😂🤣😂.. I've heard a lot of wrestlers talk about him, calling everyone "Boss". I've Got to find more stories and Animal telling them.
Had my pads as a kid. That entrance music started, boom! Goosebumps EVERY time.
The Road Warriors were easily the most intimidating and authentic tag team in wrestling. Monsters. They would run into ring and hurt their opponents.
british bulldogs would mop the floor with them
Title Match continues to knock it out of the ball park!!! Thank You! i Met Animal a handful of times and he was a real dude!! Tell it like it is!!!! All u have is your word!!! I could listen to this all phuckin' day!!!! WCNXRadio.Com
Animal is such a nice guy !! I've met him before . Super cool and would take time to say hi to anyone !!
Lol that last quote... I could just see Andre sitting on someone's face and giving them a blast....
The closest I got to meeting Animal was his son @ the Arnold Classic. He looks to me just like his dad. Only thing missing was the face paint. I was able to share with him that I am a fan of The Road Warriors, & got a picture taken with him. 👍😀👍😀👍😀👍😀
Andre the Giant could drink the best of them under the table and not even flinch that man was truly a unique specimen and from what I've heard through the years and watching him up until his passing that he was a very gentle guy haku I would be scared to drink with that guy lol
7:20 Haku fight.
Don't skip the whole clip is great.
I find the behind the scenes drama much more interesting than just wrestling js great interview!
I'll ALWAYS and FOREVER be a Mega Fan of the Road Warriors!!
Please, please please move into the "next phase" of merchandising And sell MORE Road Warriors stuff... I'll definitely BUY merch from the "greatest Tag Team of ALL time!!" (Hawk & Animal Forevermore!!) 👊👊👊👊👊
*HAWK & ANIMAL!!* 👊👊
*THE LEGION OF DOOM!!*
*LEGENDARY APOCALYPTIC WARRIOR'S OF DESTRUCTION!!*
*THE ROAD WARRIOR'S!!* 💯💀💀💯
I remember Joe and Mike when they were Huge and owned the Golds Gym in Plymouth, MN. They used to drink at the Iron Horse in Crystal. My Buddy Wayne Prozinski introduced me to them. He knew Hawks Girlfriend, Judy P. I Wrestled after they did in Florida. Kurt Henning was Waynes Cousin from Robbinsdale. Jesse Ventura had the "BodyShop".
King Haku was a
Savage on the streets , he could take care of business . The same with "The Rocks" grandfather High Cheif Peter Maivia was another good streefighter who took care of business .
Living off a bag of pretzels and a jug of milk for a week! That is dedication.
Not a wrestling fan but love hearing these old wrestling stories
One of my favorite tag teams. The good ole days.
Hawk & Animal were my favorite tag team of all TIME !
I have never seen any people here in this website who ever didn't agree that Haku being the most toughest person, the one you would never want to get angry or mad at you.
Got to meet animal with Hacksaw Jim Duggan and they both were just awesome. They asked me questions, instead of me asking questions and what 2 great guys they were at a St Louis Cardinal game.
Are they living in the STL area?? That's pretty cool haha being a birds fan and road warriors fan.
Duggan, Animal and the St. Louis Cardinals?
Sounds like my childhood all over again.
Vince was as trustworthy as a used car salesman.
@mike fightfan really? got to bring politics into this? SMH
Cheap A$$hole he is.
Was? He's still a piece of shit.
That's any business man.
@Tuco The Rat shady business deals with the middle east
Road warriors aka legion of doom were one of my top favorite tag teams
Miss these guys RIP Mike hagstrom aka hawk. Met Mike at my buddy's house once in north Minneapolis he was huge!!!
Never knew he was from Philly. No wonder he was a beast.
I said the same thing...lol
Andre and haku were two guys you definitely would not have wanted to rub the wrong way, they were the most feared in the heenan family for a reason
I grew up watching N.W.A.And Road warriors were the greatest Tag team of all time. Steiner Brothers close second. Then Rock-n-roll express. Then Midnighr Express. .
A Philly guy! Had no idea until now.
I read it in his book and asked him online what part, but he never responded : (
It breaks my heart that we lost Animal too, so soon. 😢
Could listen to these stories all day.
So sad that he passed...hope he got up there and they asked his name and he said "Tell em Hawk!" Though they all know who The Road Warriors are. R.I.P Animal!
That mohawk has seen better days.
Lmao. Yo ass funny af
Ya that shits on its last stand...
😂😂
Low blows bro 😆
It honestly looks phenomenal to me.Absolutely Phenomenal!
Never knew Jerry Sags was a legit bad ass. My favorite of the two Nasty Boys.
He almost killed Shamrock
WHO could pick a fight with Rick Martel? One of the nicest guys in the business...
Mannn… it sucks to hear they never got paid what they were worth! By far one of the most menacing & popular tag teams ever!
Animal heart they were awesome. Trained at the same gym they did back in the mid 90s the Gym in Plymouth
"We snack on danger, dine on death!"
--Wrestlefest arcade, early 1990s
Still one of my favorite (if not favorite) wrestling games ever, I loved that game. All the wrestlers were cool, DiBiase & Roberts had the best move sets IMO. 👍
"We bury every gerbil faced geek we face! Aaahhhhhhwhatta rush!!"
Fav skill set team: Jake Roberts/Mr. Perfect, fav OP team Warrior/Hogan. I loved that game! 👍
So many memories just came back
At that time everyone wanted hogan and warrior on same team lol
this is awesome I just started going back to the real wrestlers of the day🖒🍻nice🍻🍻🍻
True American Bad Asses aka The Road Warriors..first time I saw them was Florida Championship Wrestling and thinking wtf these are the 2 biggest scariest guys in Wrestling..true class act...RIP Hawk
around 4 min by then hawk flipped out. Then he eats takes a bite of his sandwich. LOL
OMG that is one of the funniest stories I've ever heard, two thumbs up your funny animal, I'd love to hear more stories about Andre, I mean boss
RIP VADER
Legend has it his own sons have never seen him without the face paint
It’s funny that Animal was the thinker of the two, and Hawk was the brawler.
There is a footnote here that many seem to miss - Ole Anderson named them The Road Warriors - People love to knock Ole, but he, in his prime, did come up with a lot of good ideas
Thank you for the memories Joe !!!
That was a great interview, Joe and...whatever your name is.
favorite tag team of all time The Road Warriors
Man legion of doom were my favourite tag team wrestlers ever! Remember going to Wrestle mania 8 in london and seeing them come out on Harleys to the ring, fucking brilliant!!
"HAWK flipped out" casaully takes a bite hahaha
Animal...always my fav, he needed so much more for hype from the tag team!
Haku/Meng... I can't believe, looking back, how much he was just a jobber to the stars! How many major titles did he actually hold? Toughest SOB on the planet and WWF & WCW just jobbed him constantly.
