Andre visited a hospital in Baton Rouge in the early eighties. He spent hours in the children's ward with kids climbing all over him. I had broken my femur in 6 places chasing a ball into traffic (I wasn't a bright child...) Andre spent a long time at my bedside asking how I broke it. I have never forgotten the kindness and compassion in his voice. I understood that, even when I was 8 years old.
that’s crazy i saw this. i just made it home (SC) from baton rouge bout an hour ago
Dude that's awesome!! Thanks for sharing brother
@@brianevans6423 I tell it as often as I can, to remind people of the way people used to treat each other, before the internet came along and made everything ugly and tarnished all of our heroes
God bless 🎉🎉🎉

I love how everyones stories align. Andre never changed for anybody he was so himself all the time. Rip Boss
Right. A great guy and a very massive man!
I met Andre back in 72, I was just about too turn 6, in Chicago! I looked straight in his knee and jumped behind my dad. He took the time to get me too calm down, and not be scared of him! I was a fan from that day on! He was an amazing person
I heard he did not like the Giant schtick all the time. He hated being hated. I'm sure that would wear any person down if in real life you were a decent person.
I gave chief Jay Strongbow a handjob back in '79

A real giant doesn't have to prove anything to anyone. It's self evident. Short, small men tend to be nasty. Giants are usually gentle... Unless, of course, you deserve it. Andre was a gentleman and a well earned legend.
@@shamusfarmerit really depends because giants are rare. Most men are average build of course everyone looks small to a giant
Was lucky enough to be standing a few metres from Andre at a show at Festival Hall Melbourne in 85. The size of the guy in the flesh was incredible, amazing human being.
Wow, that’s awesome...👍
I saw him in Spokane, WA., in 1990. It was when he injured his knee so he didn't wrestle that night.
I was right on the isle when he walked by. TV never did him justice.
Wow, it would have been something to see him in person.
Yeah I miss Andre the Giant for the best man
I have an Andre story. This has to be around 1990. My mom was with her girlfriend and we were going to pick up her girlfriends mother-in-law at Newark airport. I was 5 years old at the time and of course my mom knew I was going to be bored so she told me I could bring some of my toys with me I remember I brought some of my wrestling figures. I'm sitting on the floor in the terminal and this was back when you could go into the terminal to wait for somebody next thing I know I hear a thick French accent and he said "you like pro wrestling?" I responded "I love pro wrestling." He than asked who was my favorite wrestler I responded Hulk Hogan not realizing who it was. Then I just heard the chuckle I looked up and there was Andre the man literally sat there on the floor with me and played wrestling figures with me until he had to go. Who knew that many years later after that chance encounter I would spend 10 years of my life as a professional wrestler. Thank you Andre until we can meet again in that big wrestling ring in the sky.❤❤❤
Andre sounds like the ultimate person to hang out with.
Sounds as if all he wanted to do is have fun in his short life. He'd be the perfect wingman i reckon!
@Bourg Productions Bullshit. That never happened!
@Bourg Productions That's why you should be white.
@Bourg Productions the burden of proof is on you since you made the claim
Only if you drank and Andre.liked you.
Andre is the reason wrestling became so popular, he's beyond a legend. One of a kind
Truth 🎉🎉🎉🎉
In 1975.
I lived in Plattsburgh New York and was in 5th grade at the time and loved Professional Wrestling.
I saw Andre the Giant that year wrestle Serge Dumont when Montreal’s Wrestling Federation brought a Great card of Wrestling to Plattsburgh.
My father and I were sitting in about the 7th row right above entryway to the fan favorites aisle where they go out to the ring.
Andre wins his match in a little more than 10 minutes.
Such a thrill for me seeing Andre Wrestle.
But little did I know that I was in for a bigger thrill that night.
Because on his way back to the dressing room.
As Andre was approaching were my Dad and I were sitting.
I reached out my hand and Andre reached up and shook my hand before disappearing backstage.
I’ll never forget that moment being lucky enough to shake Andre The Giants Hand as a 13 year old kid.
Just Incredible.
Ive never heard a bad word about Andre. From in the business or anywhere else. Everyone said he was the kindest man ever.
Jake looks really healthy!! Awsome to see that.. God bless DDP!!!!
Saved his life, no doubt. Scott Hall, too.
DDP changed quite a few lives. He found his true calling.
Have you seen him lately? He looks like shit! I think he could use a hit!
@@GeraldGreenfield-gn9dcoh really? That sucks
@@GeraldGreenfield-gn9dc Lots of mileage on them tires...
It's awesome the amount of respect they had for Andre. They all catered to whatever the hell he wanted.
Uh, would you tell him no? I don’t think anybody had a choice but to give him respect lol
Andre is sorely missed. Genuine class act.
Andre had such a hard life. Guy lived every minute like it was his last. These stories are fascinating. I saw Andre when I was a child at the cow palace in San Francisco. Roy Shires promotion. Andre was just the greatest spectacle you could see as a kid in the 1970s.
Andre had a hard life, indeed. Everything was custom-made for him: his shoes, the leotard that he wore in the ring, his wrestling trunks. Andre had to book 2 seats for his next flight, and he couldn't use one of the lavatories while in flight. They look more like tiny phone booths. Andre would take a dump in the bathtub, because there's no toilet in the world that would've taken his huge rear end.
Poor bloke was in unbelievable amounts of pain his whole life…
Was mocked and made fun of daily…
He said that he wished he could live just one day being “normal sized”…
But, by all accounts, (unless he didn’t like you) he was kind, friendly - just an amazing human being
Bravo to Animal for wearing the face paint
r.i.p Animal :(
A real professional
Rip
It's a tattoo
I thought it was hawk that died
I could listen to Jesse Ventura's wrestling stories all day long
👍
Listen to Will Sasso doing a Jesse Ventura impression, comedy gold!
Jonathan Saenz James Adomian does a good one too
Andre lifted him up and Jesse is colossal 😨

When you think that all these guys commenting on Andre's size and power, are all huge strong guys as compared to the rest of us, it's even more amazing!
That’s true! A lot of us forget that these guys are normal big guys that you wouldn’t mess with in a bar.
He was truly a giant among giants
@@ChanoCYBER9Avila i wonder how big the big show would be beside Andre
Especially Manny. Cause he's beat everybody up in wrestling! 😂
imo - Working on a farm as a child (and all the way through puberty) meant his 'adult form' had natural Farmers strength as standard!
Add to that his giantism, especially the increased density of his bones. Meant Andre was (in his prime) a true Goliath.
It is actually rare, in the modern age, for Giants to get that early work life experience. Meaning, while they are giants, they don't have the raw strength and size/thickness Andre did.
Andre was near the weight of a Grand Piano. Just imagine locking up with someone who, if they 'dead weighted' on you, drove 600 pounds into your frame! And thats using no strength whatsoever, just dead weight!
It's lovely that everyone says Andre was just a great, sweet genuine guy and the fame never changed him❤
Andre stories are the best stories because you know they're all true.
Black Bart sure can tell a story!! Reminds me of an old hillbilly I grew up around all my life. These guys paying tribute to Andre is awesome!
@ 8:50 That Ted Dibiase laugh never gets old.
It got me all giddy and pumped up like I was a kid again, lol.
Andre in his prime was amazing . In a world with big men, Andre was amazing.
Absolutely! These guys are juiced up on steroids and he’s just being himself and throwing them like they’re used towels.
I miss andre 😢 these are wonderful stories! Andre is the only wrestler I never got a chance to see in person out of my all time favorites! If I was older I might have met him .He came to my home town arena before I was born or when I was a baby. He signed autographs and shook kids hands after a couple matches. I know someone who met him there. R.I.P BOSS
My dad saw Andre back in the early 1970's fight 3 dudes that were six 2 and about 250. My dad said Andre picked up 2 of them at once like they weighed 5 pounds.
this never happened dude I was one of the guys and we beat the hell out of Andre
@@alberttwangle893
My 81 year old mom would beat you up. LOL
@@alberttwangle893 listen to the Jesse Ventura interview. Andre picked Jesse lie he was a Rag Doll
It’s a match. Not a fight. Understand the difference.

The Princess Bride!....Great movie!
Love , I have Loved Pro Wrestling since I was old enough to walk!...As a little kid watching all my heroes!...As an adult all those guys are true heroes true warriors!...True human beings that sacrificed a lot for a lot of people!...Thank all the Pro Wrestling guys and girls out there!...Love you Brother's and Sister's!!!
One of my all-time favorites, and to hear the cast members’ stories of the giant are something else.
I grew up watching Andre wrestle and always enjoy hearing the stories about him. RIP!
Best line of the vid was when Flair said "you look like a ventriloquist dummy sitting on Andre's lap. lmao
And I think he did a pretty good impression too
I saw Andre the Giant in a bar at the Dallas FT Airport back in the 1980's I rode next to George "The Animal" Steel on an airport shuttle.
Dallas airport was a real hub for pro-wrestlers back in the day.
In comparison next to Andre, how was big was George Steel next to him?
@@hcaballero57 He wasn't very big by comparison. I recall he was wearing a suit and tie.
@@soulman71901 truthfully almost everyone looks small next to Andre.
I cant get enough of the Andre vs. Blackjack "friend" fights! They are too hilarious.
I met Andre the Giant in 1998 and shook his hand, i was awestruck...then my friend told me i had just shaken hands with Rosie O'Donnell.
U wrong😂
Andre passed away in 1993. Guessing you typed in the wrong year accidentally (a mistake I have been guilty of). Unless you met him 5 years after he died. Scary!
I think he drunk so much because of the pain. RIP!
Yes he knew his life would be short so he lived it to fullest. However, just think what was going through his mind as a human and knowing he won't stop growing 😢he will be in pain. Just imagine. He had to be within himself kinda depressed and scared. I love Andre ❤. He made wrestling before Hulk Hogan and Rick Flair. Andre the Giant is the Larry Bird and Magic Johnson of wrestling. He saved wrestling like they NBA. Michael Jordan took it to a new level like hulk Hogan and Rick Flair did but Andre the Giant is wrestling. He is in Heaven
You are sadly missed but NEVER forgotten boss rip brother Andre🙏🙏👍👍
One day everyone who ever encountered Andre The Giant will be gone and all we will have are these OG’s stories 😔
It's amazing the respect everyone has for him
Saw Andre fight in the 70s in Montreal Canada. Lifetime memory!
Andre the giant was the biggest fan of pro wrestling ever especially of the guys on his good side. Is also one of those decent human beings around kids I've ever met
3:52 Animal’s Flair impression was spot on RIP legend.
I can listen to Andre the Giant stories all day😄
Everybody’s got a price for the million $$$ man! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
SO. EPIC!
I looked through the comments to find this. Yes!
I met Big John Stud in his prime. I was 6 years old. He fed me and my dad steak and beans. Guy had a whole pot to himself. Lol
Met Andre, Bundy, Big John Stud, and Heenan at a gas station on my way to an event in Landover, MD. I was like 8 years old so they were all gigantic
The Million Dollar Man spiel, was icing on the cake.
Best comment ever, "Thought he broke every rib in my chest"
Picked up the bed an tipped it in mid air we go party boss lol
R.I.P. Joe, as his and my late great friend and tattoo artist knew him. I introduced “Animal” and his pal Scott Leius, Minnesota Twins) to Nolan at a tattoo convention. I was working the tattoo shop table and was approached by Animal, who was not in makeup. He said, “I’m Animal, and this is Scott Leius.” I said that I knew he was Animal; though I had no reason to know that. I just knew... (I did not know Scott Leius on-sight...)
Animal said that he and Hawk were big in Japan, and he wanted an artist to put kanji on his gigantic arm. Thus, later, Nolan worked on Joe a number of times in St. Paul. He and Nolan had many conversations in the chair. We just left them alone, let them be client and artist... Joe gave Nolan a spike from his outfit, autographed a photo; always a gentle, polite man.
Both are gone now; Nolan first at age 80.
To the commenter who stated that Animal’s face decoration was a tattoo, it obviously wasn’t...
Joe’s son played football. Joe was, as Nolan was, just another spectacular human being with a mostly normal life.
Andre the Giant apparently was also just another person. We may have outstanding characteristics...or not...but we all live and we all die.
It is what we do with our time and our efforts which leave legacies and, perhaps, fond memories...
Spend your time wisely! As Nolan frequently stated, “Life can be too short, but it can’t be too wide!”
12:25. LOL, can you imagine Andre waking you up like that? Love these Andre stories, he was something else.
I wish I had the chance to actually meet Andre. What a great person he must have been, no matter what his size.
Okay boss we fight now😂
My Dad worked at a tv station in Raleigh NC in the 70’s and got a chance to direct the promo shoot for him a few different times. Dad said he was always a wonderful guy. He got a picture with him and Andre had his fist on Dad’s shoulder and it was bigger than Dads head. Dad said he had to delay the taping for a bit and asked if he needed anything. Andre responds “I would love you forever if you could get me some beer”. He gave dad $40 and told him to buy all he could with the money. Dad went and bought about 8 cases and he said that by the end of the day, about 2 hours later, he was working on the 3rd case. We used to have an empty can of his. I live about an hour and change from where his home is in NC. Driven past it many times. RIP Andre
To put it in perspective, every one of these men saying how unbelievably strong and massive Andre was, are people who would absolutely tower over us and easily tear us apart.
Exactly. Andre was in a league all by himself
@@TitleMatchWrestlingBad news Brown claimed he made Andre back down twice
Ted could easily have been an actor with a laugh like that
Love listening to these stories!
Could listen to the Million dollar man stories plus he was my favourite heel
He was definitely up there. I could never pinpoint what it was about him, maybe he just had natural character to him.
That story of Mulligan punching Andre is insane. Who in their right mind would be dumb enough to punch Andre the Giant?!?!
He wasn't in his right mind lol he was drunk.
Mulligan.
@@gustaafargoanbeside being drunk Mulligan was 6 foot seven and once KO Harley Race with a punch.
Mulligan was a man himself, it's just Andre is otherworldly. Andre was a a wonderful human. He so much wanted to be just a normal person normal size. Imagine living in a world not made for you. Motel beds. Airplane seats are tight for me, damn agony for him, cars, chairs, clothes,. And yet he didn't complain. He is the all time G.O.A.T. No debate needed. RIP Boss
Heenan slapped Andre at Wrestlemania 6.
Love hearing Jessy “The Body” Ventura tell stories. Especially the the moments that left him speechless.

Andrew had been told by countless doctors throughout his life that he wouldn't live a long life so he did everything he could to live each and every day to it's fullest.

Love the Giant.. RIP. Andre.
This is a great comp. The ode to Terry Funk by Ted is cool, and I'm assuming that was Funk's reaction to it.
Why do I love Andre stories so much 😂😂😂
Because they sound like something out of a cartoon, but it’s not. A true one of a kind.
I was never a wrestling fan but have always been an Andre the Giant fan
Rip Andre much respect 💚
Dam Jake looks good god bless him hope he keeps going
My parents saw Andre on a flight to Acapulco in the late 70s. He took up two first class seats.
Given what Andre delt with, day in and day out, he may have been self medicating. You know he had to be in constant pain. Big Show could probably weigh in because he had the same disease but got help before it really kicked in. I've heard others say Andre could have gotten the same treatment but chose not to. I believe he was in so much pain and the loneliness from being so big, was why he chose not too.
I watched a show one time and they were talking about his farting and I guess Hulk Hogan said that he told Andre that he needed to quit farting on the air plane cause he was gonna make the plane crash Andre got a good LAUGH!!!!-
OMG 🤣🤣🤣
Great shoots from everyone! Aside from Andre though, I want to go drinking and fishing with Black Bart now for fuck sake! 😂
Dibiase had a good run in the WWF, but the Mid South Dibiase was terrific.
Me too. Mid South had awesome wrestling
Back in the 70s up to the mid-80s my dad was the Funks pastor in the panhandle of Texas so as a kid, I got to see all this stuff. Great memories from when I was a kid.
That's amazing! You had a first class seat to some great history. Thank you for sharing
It's always was WWF and always will be to me
I agree. To me it will always be World Wide Wrestling Federation

I was such a hulk maniac I hated Andre the giant lol..now that I'm older I appreciate Andre and all the older wrestlers of my day...
Big John Stud stole the stepping over the top ropes from Giant. That's supposedly why Andre did not like him
The million dollar man was a great heel.you know your doing your job when everyone despises you.
Very impressed with the "Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiasi.
What about the iron sheik? They should have interviewed him on Andre.
To be honest I've always had trouble understanding him
Sheik and Andre didn't like one another. There was a shoot interview where Sheik went into detail on why he didn't like André.
Seriously WWE needs to make like an animated series of these stories.
These stories are great! I love Cribbage! I beat a National Champion 3 of 5. Straight 3, killed him. He had been playing for 50 years I've been playing for over 30. He never had a perfect hand but on our 3rd game he dealt me a perfect hand. I love the Cribbage connection.
I had the pleasure and honor to meet Andre the giant and a bunch of wrestlers at WM 3 at the silverdome in 1987 then again at the survivor series' and at the Old Boston Garden
Man that's so cool you were at Mania 3. To be there for Andre vs Hogan had to be insanity

I was on the road with Andre back in 1988 and he ate nothing but bacon, eggs, steak, shrimp, corn, cheese, butter, hambugarm, chciken, cheese, butter, hotdog
Just wanted to have fun, play cards, and make people happy😁 sad he couldn't stay longer
My father was security at the old Philadelphia Spectrum and I used to go with him every month for WWF Wrestling and I remember him pulling up in a jeep Wrangler with no doors with Snuka and JYD
the stories of andre always warm my heart, the way he was with his friends and partying after hearing all the stories of him coming up getting picked on for his condition. loved that he celebrated every moment
