What did tracy smothers do
Who is Doug Gilbert
@@brandondowdy4220 Smothers was big in the smaller regional promotions in the 80s and early 90s, mostly in the South. He was in a tag team in NWA/early WCW with Steve Armstrong (they were known both as The Southern Boys and The Yung Pistols).
@@brandonconley1341 Doug Gilbert wrestled in regional promotions (Lawler's Memphis Wrestling, NWA Wildside) from the early 90s to around 2010. He did one WWF show, the 1996 Royal Rumble (was eliminated by Vader). He was the "Dark Patriot" IN ECW who feuded with The Patriot. He's also the younger brother of "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert.

My dad built one of Takers custom bikes back in 2002, my dad told me just a couple weeks ago that him and taker went on a 6 hour bike ride. I can only dream of doing that. My dad said they would talk at red lights about stuff in this town or that town but that was it. Then taker pulled off and kept going and my dad has to turn and come back home.
Iam a big fan of taker can you help me meet him?

He mastered the psychology of wrestling, He showed his knowledge in ECW, he's not a yes man or ass licker to work for Vince back then!
Undertaker is the only top guy I've ever seen that nobody talks shit about. No one seems to have any beef with him and it's something especially incredible in this business and especially for the top card guys. Mad props to undertaker and even more respect to Mark Calloway.
Its crazy how much respect that man has in the locker room
Glenn Jacobs too. Not seen a bad word about him.
doug gilbert was just talking shit about him in the video
tracy smothers had some negative things to say about him.
He's a hells angels smothers said it and Gilbert was telling that taker changed after he got successful personally like the character but back when he was undertaker he made severalreference to being a hells angels even had merchandise wishes is just offensive to me since I've grown up during the biker war in canada

The streak should never have been broken it was the day I had enough of wrestling,
Matthew Dearden yeah yeah I’m sure it was Matty
I don't think the Undertaker wanted his career to be defined just by WrestleMania
@@ericthomas917 He could have kept the streak and "retired." Then do documentaries, specials, podcasts and one off appearance not surrounding Wrestlemania.
To me.... WWE died for me that day. Now its just business corporation..not for the fans.
He chose to have brock end it
Raven is right. Taker should've remained an engima. Taker embodies the concept of death hence "dead man walking". The idea that "death" can be defeated is anti climatic

@@ericthomas917 Probably true. But since like 2009 Undertaker has been wrestling pretty much just once a year at WrestleMania. I think the only people who wanted the streak to end are Vince McMahon and Undertaker. Every fan, every wrestler, every talking head wrestling personality wanted the streak to continue on forever.
Taker could be 27-0 right now instead of 25-2. Does WWE lore even remember the Roman Reigns match? lol

Elreypachuco Jesse Ventura is a Mongol. Not a Hells Angel.
Raven is 100% completely right. Situations like that are why it's nearly impossible for a lot of people, especially older fans, to care about wrestling anymore or at least the WWE. If you had to trace back to the root cause of it all, it's probably when people within the business stopped protecting it. If they don't care then why should we, you know...
Hopefully it will get better when Trips starts running it, I just cannot watch what raw and sd do to their talent.
There was no turning back to that once the internet came along. Everybody knows it’s a work. I’m fine with guys not being forced to stay in kayfabe in their daily lives and be able to make a few bucks doing interviews so long as the wrestling product is presented as legitimate on tv and events. If people saw Kane walking down the street in a mask and setting things on fire they’d rightfully call the police.
@@MrRyan-wu4jx Well that calls into scrutiny someone like Bray Wyatt prior to his current gimmick when he did make interview appearances and take selfies with fans... that just kills the gimmick's credibility if you can so easily walk up to him and ask for a photo.
If the impression it leaves on you is "wow this crazy cult leader sure is personable and nice" then don't do such an outlandish gimmick in the first place if he intends to not hide himself while traveling on the road so a handler can take care of all his traveling arrangements for him.
Undertaker protected the business by not showing himself in public, Paul Bearer was his actual manager that handled all the travel arrangements for the two of them. Taker never even got out of the car to pump gas.
Kane wore a mask and no one knew what he looked like for a good while so he had that advantage before they ruined his gimmick. All the shit with the fire was just hokey theatrics taken too far. Certain guys used to use fireballs a lot in the old days but when you attach such a thing to a giant in goofy red spandex that was supposed to be a burn victim, it really kills the edge it used to have.
But Kane and Taker got a pass for portraying what are actually very hokey gimmicks on paper because they're tremendous talent who can carry it off in as believable a fashion as possible. Most "character" gimmicks fail because they're too silly to get people invested in them unless the person in question is REALLY good that talent is few and far between.
We all know it's a work but they shouldn't be constantly reminding you of that fact if they want you to really care, internet or not. They have a whole generation conditioned to perceiving it like it's a normal TV show with actors playing parts and that's not how wrestling was ever meant to be presented. Given their steadily declining ratings over the last 20 years... clearly a lot of people feel the same.
You don't have to agree with me, I very much am presenting a biased perspective that itself is considered antiquated by some but my reasoning for sticking to it is simply, "I know what I like." You can like what you like, if you dig how it is now, more power to you. Sorry this was so long. :)
@@robintst agree with everything. Its shit nowadays. The only people who like it now are kids. When it was great and the ratings were huge in the late 90s and early 00s that's when I was like 12 13 years old and all teenagers and young men upto their 30s and 40s loved it. Its completely unwatchable nowadays (WWE) apart from checking in on what legends like Taker are doing when they make an appearance or great wrestlers like AJ Styles is upto storyline wise its shit and barely watchable. I skip through most of the highlights now and that's sad. I would rather watch AEW and other companies when I know I am going to get some bloody great wrestling matches.
Alan Rizkallah I think that wrestling is more of a sport more than anything. So they should stop with these Gimmiks and focus on making titles mean something by having no 1 contenders and earn their spots..Rather than losers getting title shots and winning...Also it's always the same 2-3 people holding a title.
Unpopular opinion but I always felt like it was a shame that Taker’s career started to be reduced to the streak the longer it went on because it wasn’t that much of a focus at first. The man’s done so much that it always felt weird to me that the streak was the thing on peoples’ minds more than anything else. He’s more than that.
That being said.... never understood why Lesnar had to be the guy to break it. I’ll never come to grips with that part.
I’m happy to see with the Steve Austin interview and the Last Ride documentary starting soon that he’ll be getting the credit and recognition he deserves close to his retirement. They’re breaking down his Deadman persona because the end is near. Survivor Series 2020 wouldn’t be a shock.
@@CarloisBuriedAlive as much as I would love for the Undertaker to retire sooner rather than later, he NEEDS to retire at Survivor Series 2021 to really cement his legacy. 30 years of rising from the dead, before the character makes his way to his grave at the show that started it all.
Lesnar didn’t even wanna break it either

There's other interviews where he's pretty clear he's the greatest human alive and everyone owes him. My trainers worked with him. I knew ALLL about him before we ever had this youtube stuff. He's garbage.
What he fails to understand is Taker is all about respect. If you're supposed to come in the day before for no good reason Taker is gonna have an issue. Its about respect. If you don't show it to he or the business he's got nothing for you.
There many great wrestlers but only a handful of legends.. Undertaker was and is a legend. There will never another Undertaker.
Sucks WWE writers didn't know how to use Raven. Loved him in ECW
its cuz of his gimmick as Johnny Polo. A lot of his colleagues like Atom Bomb 4 instance weren't too fond of him.
In ravens case it was vince vince saw raven as a mid level talent i watched 3hrs of ravens interviews last night and Johnny pollo was paul heymans idea raven came up with the raven character paul didnt like it untill he saw it then paul could relate to raven and dreamers character ive never herd of a wrestle r who dodnt like raven he used to ride with austin and pillman on wcw they did a steve austin podcast n it was awsome listening to them 2

Undertaker said on Stone Cold's podcast that he doesnt remember the match with Lesnar because of a concussion. I strongly suspect that they didnt intend for him to lose, that he was just so out of it that he lost by accident. Which would explain the shocked looks on Heyman and Lesnars faces when it happened.
its said th with him about the at McMahon told Taker he wanted him to lose to PT Lesnar at Wrestlemania and Taker just said ok,,didnt try to fight with him about the streak or anything..that should tell you what a company man he is right there
@@robmiller931 And that could be them covering up that he lost by accident. I don't really know, obviously, but I suspect Taker wasn't supposed to lose to Lesnar, and they came up with that story so no one would know.

Young Davis 90 I don't mind the streak ending but I think they fuck it up into areas one is having a part-timer beat him and 2 is have him lose a second time. If you're going to end a streak then that should be Undertaker's retirement match and it should have been against someone special.
So Brock Lesnar isn’t special ? Who was believable to end the streak honestly ?
Should of never ended it at all. He should of when taker was ready to retire walk out on his last win.
The Streak should have Never Ended

Rest in peace Tracy Smothers
He must be a great dude because in 25 years I haven’t heard anyone say a bad thing about him.
I agree with Raven not only on the Undertaker’s streak shouldn’t have been broken but with a lot of popular wrestlers jobbing towards the end of their career. It’s one thing when you pass the torch another when you job.
with regards to what raven said. I agree with him, and I think I know why it happens. Vince doesn't want any superstar being bigger than the company when they leave. he tried to do it to Austin too and Austin said he's not gonna job. they're doing it slowly to Cena as his career is winding down and that's why they had Taker lose too. to me it seems that Vince does this every time.
The undertaker is one of the greatest wrestlers in history and no one i repeat no one can top his entrances music i used to be spooked as a kid when the lights suddenly went out😁😂😂
Love the undertaker. What a legend.
UNDERTAKER GOAT enough said
Raven is correct and he is a genius.

Justin Ogle -I agree. To be honest, he’s my favorite wrestler.
“I’m going home get out of my way” 😂
And they got out of his way lol
It's like a movie scene
Got to agree with Raven on the streak. There are ways for Taker to still be jobbed out to give the next generation a rub without breaking that streak. Eventually they will have to treat something or someone as "sacred." Not meaning that they are/or whatever it is would be above the business but people like and admire stuff like that. Records are lasting memories and when they're finally broken, it means something. Say they left the streak in tact and then over the years found another Mega Star that they could then put on a path to "chase the streak." Depending on what kind of business it does, decisions could be made from there whether it made sense to leave it or break it. I think Vince missed a lasting opportunity though. Taker is the embodiment of Death. NOTHING outlasts or beats Death. It is a gimmick that likely will never be replicated and he killed the one thing that could've made it entirely unique.
It was Marks decision, for him to lose. To put over his friend Brock. Lesnar didn't even want to do it at first, and Mark convinced him.
Never heard of Doug Gilbert until I saw this
The Dark Patriot!
Why you think he was the only one who kinda badmouthed Taker?
@@garyhunter667 because Undertaker either didn't remember Doug (which would be hard to believe considering who his brother was)... or Doug felt slighted that he thinks he helped Mean Mark along at the start if his career and then gets treated as a nobody by the guy when he sees him at the top of his game.
I also agree with Raven about the streak. Taker should have retired undefeated
Shouldn't have lost the belt to Brock Lesnar at the very least. That guy sucks.
@Doctor Octagon Yeah you're not wrong. Brock is a fucking beast of a human. I just don't care for him too much is all. Overeem's TKO of Brock was sooooo satisfying!
Doctor Octagon No insult but Cain Velasquez will surely rape Brock Lesnar.
He should have hung it up with HHH at 20-0. End of an Era match ending, then he could have retired officially at Survivor Series (where he debuted in 1990)

Taker's streak shouldn't have ended. He's an awesome guy and should have retired undefeated at Wrestlemania.
Jerry Laaaaaawler... if I find you. 🤣
Guys he was using a metaphor saying taker was truly one of Hell’s (as in the place) Angels, because of how tough he was. Taker was never a Hell’s Angel.
Right! Only the interviewer thought it was seriously legit lol
I was thinking the same thing. I remember reading that he had some beef with Lesnar because Lesnar had slated The Outlaws which Taker was a member of. I don't believe he ever has been a part of a gang, he just loves bikes.
Anthony Dyson yea man thats all it is, he’s just a huge bike lover who looks like a gang member
Yeah, it's a fairly common southern expression that predates the club but around 100 or so years. It's in books. WW2 fighter squadron had the name too because of the expression. People are people. They think they know. Right now, someone is reading this reply to your comment getting ready to argue against us because "They know a guy who" or some shit. Just a figure of speech. D'Hotness McAwesome fr bro it’s literally just a figure of speech. But its 2020 you know. People get mad about any and everything.
Raven is 100% right. You have a guy like Undertaker that has had a gimmick that was protected for 30 years and booked consistently strong since day one and then you chance all that legacy he built up to job him out to flavors of the month and unproven new blood? Just makes me think of taking something invaluable and tossing it to a pawn shop for a few hundred dollars.

Taker should have retired with the streak unbroken, whether he wanted it to end or not.
'Gettin' smart with Mark at the bar' is gonna be a podcast, just a matter of time
Im here more concerned about the Lawler rant lol
He should have absolutely stayed undefeated at ‘Mania. Even Roman didn’t get a rub from beating him, Lesnar was a monster way before and didn’t benefit from the win at all. Mark has always been a loyal company man, and very respectful of the business
Brock only won because taker suffered a concussion early in the match and they switched the ending on the fly. He even stated on stone colds podcast he didnt remember wrestling

Taker the GOAT...
I agree with Raven. One of the worst decisions was ending the streak.
Undertakers rope walk is legendary GOAT
I could listen to the good ole country boys talk all day long. And Raven hit the nail on the head. Protect your character.. Protect your gimmick.. Protect the business. But it's said that it was the Undertakers choice to end the streak with Brock.
That bart guy needs to let stuff from the past go... that non 2 week notice from jerry is going to end up killing the guy lol
Doug is like that guy that expects things from people. He probably gets upset his mom don’t buy him Christmas gifts still. Being friends is one thing. but going years apart with no contact to showing up n acting like you are owed something is stupid. People grow apart life grows apart. I don’t see people I don’t talk to anymore and expect anything in return. If he wanted something he should have stayed in contact and addressed his issue about 30+ years ago.
Plus, in those days, Taker was ALWAYS in character. He was all about kayfabe.
Raven is the only one on here making sense
Doug seemed pretty full of himself, acting like Mark should of groveled on the floor and shined his boots for giving him a ride to somewhere he was already going. I think that's the only time someone's acted like a twat when a convo about the undertaker has taken place
Here is my assumption... I think this is one of those guys that if go to buy a drink and are short on $.25 tax they cover you then act like they gave you $1000 for the next 10 years so when taker seen this guy so many years later he was probably thinking " oh great, now I have to deal with this asshole again"..that's what I assume based on what I see of the 2 personalitys
I just assumed Taker was getting in character pre match.
Even the way he retells it doesn't sound particularly rude, it just sounds like he was either A: getting into character. Or B: Mark just doesn't talk all that much. He's always struck me as a pretty private person
He probably told everyone about takers situation , which is why he got the cold shoulder 🤔.
The internet simply will not let Undertaker be the bad guy in any story. It just isn't allowed. If he would have said "... and Undertaker was like "Hey, man! How are you?!", nobody would be attacking Gilbert at all.
Ok, my favorite part of all these shoot compilation videos is Black Bart 😂😂😂 this was supposed to be about Taker and hes shootin on Lawler 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Taker wanted to give back and push a young guy. I would imagine.
If he wanted to push a young guy that wouldn’t be a problem. But having it be lesnar is honestly an L because he didn’t need it.
My Mom drew a perfect Undertaker from a Magazine Cover and did a Kane Mask Painting. We took them to a show back when I was around 8. My sister dropped the Kane Painting over the Balcony in San Jose. I had to go to the bathroom shortly after and went to a different one than she expected so got worried and had a random dude try to find me. Turned out to be Crash Holly's Brother. He was able to not only retrieve the Painting but also too the Framed Undertaker Drawing (Post Size) and got it signed by The Undertaker for her. Was definitely a cool "you grabbed the right dude" moment.
She later became a Wrestler in APW in the Bay Area and even wrestled with Gangrel. Not bad for a fat woman in her 40s at the time.
The main man Tracy Smothers seems like such a nice guy
With the streak I have two thoughts: Either he should have remained undefeated, or have his one loss be his last match. The last ride of the Deadman.
The guy from Memphis has to realize that he’s always in character so perhaps he was responding that way to not break character. I could be wrong
Brian Delgado, Doug Gilbert is the wrestler’s name. Maybe ‘Taker was in Character or He truly didn’t remember Doug Gilbert. Both are possible.
Well to be fair nobody is a saint, but overall that doesn't make him a bad guy, prob just caught him at the wrong moment

I just love it when they interview someone about a specific person and they go off topic to settle a beef they have with someone else. Cornette is usually a master at that but this guy talking about Jerry Lawler cracked me up. He wanted to say something about Mark but just got stuck on Lawler... I agree with Raven. Undertaker was like the only thing sacred in wrestling. That streak should have never been broken and his exit out of pro-wrestling should've been kayfabe all the way. The dead man who came in from out of nowhere and left with an undefeated streak at Wrestlemania. It creates conversations for generations to come on how that one wrestler was above all of them. But no. McMahon has his head too far up pro-wrestling's ass to ever think outside of the box again.
I agree with Raven, it was one of WWEs stupidest decisions ever.. allowing Lesnar of all people but not just that letting taker lose!!!!!
The Fishy Life ! Who should of broken it if not Brock
It's wasn't wwe that chose Brock Lesnar to break the undertaker's streak the undertaker chose Brock Lesnar to break it not wwe

Take was the one who said he wanted Brock to be the one to end the streak. WWE picked Roman. So really, it was Undertaker who chosw his streak to be ended.
scott levy should be head of creative somewhere
I met undertaker once after a ppv such a top fella unreal
True Raven he should of never been defeated.. flawless, raven a wrestler we are fans
Raven is the GOAT
RIP Tracy.
I love these videos I honestly do. It's nice to see what other people think of their opponents, friends, and colleagues
Mark Callaway and Kevin Nash seem to be very similar, in that they're actually really good dudes, but will fuck you up in a heartbeat if you cross the line.
Well Kevin Nash wouldn't, tear his quads before could plus he only had 6 moves.
The dude at 3:16... wtf is that haircut XD
I'll ask you once you're his age and with that much hair on your head.
It's called the bowl cut.
@@AhsanKhan-eo8dv he has enough hair but it looks like they put a flower pot on it and cut everything that came out underneath

I WILL TRY TO BE AS MARK-FREE AS POSSIBLE WHILE I STATE THIS:
THE BIZ WILL REMAIN.....BUT TALENT COMES AND GOES
I watch these wrestling segments, and when anybody mentions the history of Mark Calloway it seems everybody forgets that before he was Taker, he was Mean Mark Eaton in the WCW in the mid-80's and at 7 ft, 280 lbs he was a put over. I just wonder why that's not ever added to his credit... When he came to the WWF as Taker, I knew exactly who he was...
Not many athletic people at that size gets unnoticed
I agreed with Raven, the streak should never be broken.
Sounds like Doug Gilbert is abit jealous of takers career
He is just pissed that Taker forgot him
Of all my favorite wrestlers, I think The Undertaker might be my favorite.
Pro Wrestlers On How Undertaker Is In Real Life - Plus black bart randomly calling out jerry lawler
