I daily drove a Chevy for 28 years, daily driver! The only reason I sold it was I wanted a bigger truck. After 28 years and 1.7 million miles, it still had the factory power steering fluid in it, and the factory clutch fluid, other than changing the battery and alternator a couple times, I absolutely never had any problems with it.

Beautiful rig I have created a fascination with welding rigs since hauling some pipeline equipment for a local job. Carli makes great suspensions CJC off-road even has custom deaver sets for the rear for the added weight in the bed at all time. The kings from a pintop would make this rig ride day and night torsion sway bar is a great addition.

It’s a pretty truck, hope your luck gets better with it. My early 02 6spd has been great to me, 490k and still runs great. Have been through 4 clutches though. Maybe it’s the work I do, maybe it’s me. Sometimes we get lucky, other times, not so much. Nice truck, I wish you luck and well wishes in life and in your career.

I really like the truck. That bed is slick looking and seems pretty functional... I have questions about the gooseball placement, but understand it with all the other gear taking priority. I did wonder what the big bolts are back there... I did hear you mention the two 2" receiver mounts for a beveler, but are those just mounting bolts where you had to chop the frame or is there something that mounts there?
One thing I like about my short-wheelbase, single cab F-450/F-550 chassis cabs for the boat moving & hauling I do has been the wider front ends (with the associated turning radius) as well as the narrower rear end where the front tires track between the duals rather than with the inner. I kinda like the look of the P/U dually axles hanging out, but also appreciate the slimmer/tucked look of the CC where I'm less likely to clip objects in tight spaces.
On our new 2021 F-550, we modified a CM aluminum flatbed to fit a Ramsey 20k hydraulic winch and a 30k Reese 5th. It's got a couple cargo boxes in front of the tires for tools and straps.
I splurged on a Kelderman shuttle rear air suspension on the 550 because the 450 was a beast on the ol' kidneys. We haul a Brownell 10 ton highway trailer that is fully hot-dipped galvanized and scales out at 8,400 empty and the whole rig, loaded, has gone across the scales at 38k. The trailer goes down the boat ramps and submerged in Maine salt water 3-5 times a day during the spring and fall, so it's a maintenance nightmare... mostly the brakes and hub seals.
I've never been a fan of the aesthetic of the Ranch Hand bumpers, but I do see their functionality. I clobbered a doe with 450 and mangled the bumper, kinda like you did, without damage to any other panels, but haven't found a decent replacement that tucks in tight but also offers a rugged 2.5" receiver so I can move my hitch up front for easier trailer moves around the yard.

Thanks a lot! The 4 bolts are for my 5th wheel hitch. I pull my camper with this truck. My camper has about 2,000 pounds of tongue weight. With the weight of the welding machine, leads, tools and bottles all in front of the axle, the weight balances out nicely and the camper pulls great. I’ve pulled the camper over 16 hours away from home with no issues at all.

I love it when the time is taken to do the matching body line into the aftermarket bed(i just started watching this, not sure if u built or bought the bed - yet).
