You are right. I suffered from exact same problem. My motherboard had a problem, I thought it is due to overheating but later found that it is due to PSU.

I learned about what is bad about cheap psu via hard way.
I bought my first pc with such psu in 2013, at that time, I was a dummy. Within 5-6 years, my motherboard, ram, graphics card(non gaming, Radeon 6570), UPS all is dead. 😭😭 I had to change basically everything(sold my old Processor too). Brand PSU is the real love. So silent. 😍
I upgraded my 10 years old pc, used same 550 watt power supply, it's actually new but old, i never used it. I bought it and then my computer went idle for a decade until i decided to upgrade, I saved money in power supply, cabinet and hard drive and used it for better specs.
I am using a HP 500 watt power supply made in USA for last 10 years , i've upgraded my setup back in 2018 and using it, no issues at all.
I say you should upgrade because you have used over 10 years

I have used my oscilloscope on the Intex 450watt power supply and I am getting ripples of more than 1v peek to peek(without any load). With a load of 20watts, the ripples drop 500mv peek to peek. These powersupplies are really shit. I use additional filtering capacitor on the 12v and the 5volts rails and the ripples reduce further to 50mv peek to peek. Now, I am planing to test the powersupply in the midrange to see if I get similar results.

Yes you are right, i shifted from coolermaster to ante 500w for now. When powercuts my pc get restart, even when I have inverter. Coolermaster never had problem

Hey IG, does it matter if I get a modular or non modular one ? Reason: I'm building a new PC after a decade & would like the most optimal solution for the PC. My choice (as per the power needs of the rig) is Thermaltake TR2 550V.

This topic is really good I see a lot of people using some ₹500-1000 psu which comes with rainbow colored wires in a tin type box and if that psu dies it dies with other components...... And if we choose to buy a psu for around ₹3000-4000 for deepcool Or evga they can give more efficiency in case of that tin box and for high pc we should choose good psu like corsair, asus, msi, thermaltake (toughpower series), etc
I bought cooler master power supply 500w back in 2010 and its still working. I never got and issue. 🙂

I am a computer science student and I am one of those tech enthusiastic girl. I am building a Linux gaming PC with rx570 and ryzen 2600(might OC), B450 tomahawk and 4 RGB fan with 2 LED strips. The Max load should be around 400w should I go with VS550 if I go with vs650, will a 1100va UPS suffice? Will a 650w psu draw 650+ loss at all time from wall or will it draw whatever my components draw(say 400w at Max load) + energy loss?
I literally got scammed from a pc shop , they told me that a cheap PSU will do the work and after 3-4 months my pc started rebooting itself after every 30-40 min of usage, I took it to them and they suggested me to purchase a ups.. then I understood they're scamming me and I changed many parts from my pc like I changed the PSU , I purchased new gigabyte p450b then I changed the Intel stock cooler and purchased cooler master h410 , purchased a new antec nx 210 cabinet for airflow and now it doesn't reboot even after I used it for 6-7 hours continuously.. I learnt my lesson from my experience.
I've seen many Corsair VS & CX series PSU to fail as well as Zebronics & Intex within 6 months to 1 year... obviously Corsair & Cooler Master has one of the best quality components still it fails...its hard truth...all depends upon on luck too...

One customer asked me(IT Technician) as advice for psu , I told him to buy a decent one(550watt 80+) for his new assembled computer,but he invested good money on everything except psu and went with cheap psu. A Radeon RX 580 needs 27 amps on the 12v+ rail and at least a 500w-550w power supply , usually with 1 - 6 pin and 1 - 6+2 pin PCIE power connections.
Plz change the Procecor at least go for Ryzen 5 3600
There are online power calculators you can use for calculating this..

Ble Screen mostly RAM problem, check your Ram useages....does Ram bottlenecking ?? If yes then upgrade your RAM to 16Gb , cause with amd ryzen 2600 and 1060 6gb, its better with 16gb Ram.
And yahh..use same ram as currently you have of 8gb.
