Man these videos are so nostalgic for me. Used to watch Sam's videos religiously when I first started cooking. Fell out from watching anything for the last 2 years. It's damn good to be back. 🤘🤘🤘
Had some leftover grilled chicken so made up a caprese filling with the chopped chicken.. put the filling in a Cresent roll ring ...delish with fresh pesto and prosciutto. Yum
Fantastic. I should bust this one out at our fams get-together this summer. They'll think I'm a genius, unless they watch Sam videos, in which case they'll commend me for stealing from the best. Either way, I get to eat this.
Sup Sam, I usually have a version of what you make, BUT chicken caprese sandwich, I got nothing lol, awesome, I'm making as seen before even substitute anything 👊
Been making a version of this for years. It's amazing, but gotta do the tomato / basil / cheese add to the bread. I add one thing he didn't, and that's a Balsamic reduction. Adds a lot of flavor.
Nice to see the stuff added to the outside of the bread. I started adding cheese/herb flavoured bread crumbs to my normal grilled cheese sandwiches and it adds a nice little flavor and additional crunch. Just dust them on after buttering the bread. Good stuff.
Sam, I love that! I planted icicle radishes to mark slower plants, and had so many I did not know what to do with them. I turned the radish greens into a pesto and prefer it to Basil. Might be worth a shot! (Growing Rambo Radishes for the same thing now)
1:05 wtf do you people find chicken that clean and good looking!?!? All the chicken I see is gross and slimey and has fat and veins and sinew and blood spots all over it.
I made almost the exact same sandwich at my work, the only real difference was we broiled the tomato slices that we drizzled with the oil we used to braise garlic cloves to make "roasted garlic". Third pan filled halfway with garlic cloves cover with olive oil, 350 oven until garlic is golden brown and not bitter. Used that oil for a lot of recipes.
Homemade pesto rocks, I'm making as Sam did before I substitute lol, but was in Palermo Italy and had pestos they made it a meal, favorite was with toasted pistachios, and toasted cashews, some they even put little pepper flakes, some had mint, so incredible..
That looks great, thanks for the recipe! I was going to say salt the tomatoes, but you've got the prosciutto on there plus the aiiolii, so no matter. Will have to make this. Take care, you are appreciated!
Well, I don't have many of those ingredients right now except sourdough, cheese, tomato and fresh basil. so grilled cheese with basil and tomato it is!
Sam, you have to do Chinese salt n pepper chicken! There's a great restaurant near you that I would recommend you sample, it's rigt there in San Diego. You kinda touched on it in your irish bag dinner. But I think you should really check this one out. I've only been requesting it for five or six years.
Sam, That sounds amazing! So i've got a request from a child born from another mother. My absolute favorite dish is Beef Stroganoff. I usually use sirloin. But lately I've decided to go off the reservation with the dish. So said what the hell added some andouille sausage. Said even more what hell and added peas to it. Anyhow would love to see what spin you could put on the dish.
I'm not sure if whatsapp person on the reply was any of your staff. Anyhow I know you all have got to be busy bees and I'm a needy lil B***H at the moment. I only thought of that dish as it's different from what I'm used to seeing you make.
That sanga is so awesome I just HAD to subscribe !...... FINALLY.... ( was it the SUBSCRIBE! thingies all over the screen? )..... I'll never know........ LOL !
Okay, you decorate that sandwich with the mozz & stuff like that, and yet at every occasion you probably tell you wife, "I can't wrap this present Honey, I'm all thumbs". Yeah, get him girl!!!!
You out did yourself with this one. I wasn't hungry until I watched this. Thank you so much for all your videos, cookbooks, and I loved your television show back in the day. You are a great cook and funny too, perfect combination to learn from. You taught my family to grill romaine lettuce. It is one of our favorites. Have a nice day.
Max and Chance and the slow-mo Food Porn! This sandwich was pure beautiful food porn! I usually use a simple olive oil and roasted garlic powder toasted, with Russian dressing (ketchup and mayonaisse) on the inside. This means that a lovely sliced steak goes well, but chicken does too!
Dude. My dream is to get a backyard with your setup and only cook your stuff. So yummy. I’ve done Tri tip snd beef cubes your way. Ughhhhh maze Innnnnn
Pretty sure that capraise salads get a bit of olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette.. Would’ve drizzled that on the chicken before the cheese. Not much. Just a wee bit.
The cheese-tomato-basil thing on the top and bottom of the sandwich is the real shit. It just lifts the whole sandwich up to another level. Tiny detail, but amazing.😮👌🏻
If you have a little ceramic dish, substitute regular garlic for confit garlic. It's that much better! And you have garlic infused olive oil that you can use as well

It's damn good to be back. 🤘🤘🤘
Great idea Max and gorgeous execution Sam.
That little trick with the cheese tomato and basil in the pan is great!
There is a description for that "little trick". It is called "preparation". Quiet you.
@@guyfawkes578 you ok?
@@olojondro73 If you are asking if I am ok...one asks with proper English. "Are you ok?" I am delighted to be of assistance.
@@guyfawkes578 Sick.
What the Fawkse are you talking about...
I make a very similar sandwich but the mozzarella, tomatoes and basil in the pan is pure genius. I will be eating this a lot this summer.
Had some leftover grilled chicken so made up a caprese filling with the chopped chicken.. put the filling in a Cresent roll ring ...delish with fresh pesto and prosciutto. Yum

Looked double delicious 😋
So nice! But use your new seasoning on the tomatoes!
Genius!
Does anyone know where he gets the chicken from?
WOW!
"there is not one thing I would do differently"
Damn it!! I don't have any of those ingredients at the moment. And that's all I want now. 😂 that's going on the menu. Thank you!
Sam- That is a Masterpiece of a Chicken Caprese Sandwich! I like the idea & have to make this. Bravo!
Great idea Max!

Sam is the Man!
Was really excited to hear sam say “it’s leaking, it’s dripping, it’s soaking wet” guess Sam isn’t a Yin Yang Twins kinda guy
Shake it like a salt shaka
Sam, this looks amazing!!!!😊😊😊😊I am definitely trying this!
Take care....your friends in Lakeland FL.
Salt & Pepper on those Mealy Tomatoes would be nice.
Omg this looks so good, I’m making it this week. Thinking I’d add some balsamic to mine🤤
Would love to order this at a great sandwich place. 😎
That’s a killer sandwich!!!
Please do the Chivito al pan from Uruguay, it will be interesting what kind a twist you do to it!!!
The end with the cheese and tomatoes in the fry pan, exxxxcellent!!!
You’re the only reason I enjoy cooking, I wish I got to your channel even sooner. Thank you so much
It’s better late than never
@@bewareofsasquatch 🤣
Legend. But I wanted to see Max try it! Also, I will be adding a tiny bit of chili flake somewhere. I am definitely making this one!
Looks amazing! So beautiful with the tomatoes and basil on the bread. More like this, please!
absolutely beautiful ! thx STCG!
That looks SUPER. A great idea with a homemade tomato soup. I'm doin' it... 😋
Damn Sam, been watching you for a long time I really think this might be the best Sammy ever made
I'll admit that looks pretty damn great... you might want to add that to your restaurant menu.
Sup Sam, I usually have a version of what you make, BUT chicken caprese sandwich, I got nothing lol, awesome, I'm making as seen before even substitute anything 👊
Sounds fantastic! I will try this! Great idea Max!
Think I got a new favorite summertime sammich! Thanks, Gents.

Sandwiches are great to have on the days you don’t want to spend hours in the kitchen cooking. Definitely trying this recipe! Looks amazing ❤🙌
Awesome video! It makes me feel guilty about the mean things that I said the other day.
Drooling 🤤 I imagine crisping up the prosciutto in a pan for a second would’ve been an awesome option as well
Nice to see the stuff added to the outside of the bread. I started adding cheese/herb flavoured bread crumbs to my normal grilled cheese sandwiches and it adds a nice little flavor and additional crunch. Just dust them on after buttering the bread. Good stuff.
Oh that is so gonna happen and I already know I will make a few with different cheeses. Thanks guys, great job.

I want that wooden spoon 😊.
Sammich also looks great!
Absolutely a great looking sandwich
The herb olive oil tip was awesome! Thanks.
That looks amazing
Mouth watering! I made something similar, with speck instead of prosciutto.
I'm not gonna say you guys need to make that spoon...but you NEED to make that spoon!

So, did Max love this??
I know I sure will, when I make one!! [Drooling]
Pretty slick move with the toasting thing. Never seen that before. Looks great.
i balsalmic glaze would really set this off!!
Sam, I am guessing your son asked for that MASSIVE FOOD PROCESSOR in order to see into it better ;) You know for the Camera :)
I’ve been doing something like this as a low carb wrap a lot recently. Chicken tomato mozzarella spinach and a pesto mayo.
That sandwich looks amazing. I'm making one this weekend. Good lord. Extra pesto of course.
Homemade pesto rocks, I'm making as Sam did before I substitute lol, but was in Palermo Italy and had pestos they made it a meal, favorite was with toasted pistachios, and toasted cashews, some they even put little pepper flakes, some had mint, so incredible..
I clicked on this video thinking I’d never make the sandwich but damn Sam you’ve got me salivating! 🤤 Time to reconsider lol
It's basil

That cheese/basil/tomato infusion of the bread is a brilliant move!
Great looking sandwich 🎉
Putting the basils, tomatoes and cheese on the outside of the sandwhich gave it such a nice look to it. Today I learn!
Daughter makes and sells homemade sourdough bread. I am going to make this very soon. Drooling boys. Hungry....😊😊😊
That is garlic mayo. Or lazy aioli. But not aioli

That was a cool-ass trick, cooking the veggies into the bread! Awesome!
I was like 'There's no way he's not taking two bites of this sandwich.' And at the last second, there it was. Damn, that thing looks amazing.

Bravissimo Maestro! Food is art is food! Many moving parts, one amazing Sammich! Yay!
That piano note was straight From Hard to say I'm Sorry by Chicago.
Looks delicious. Flavor explosion. The only thing I would have done different is lightly salt those flavorless greenhouse tomatoes. Nice recipe.
That looks Amazing!!!❤
Sam your a sandwich genius
U always seem to impress us Sam!!
Love the idea, but broil the inside to set the tomato and melt cheese before grilling. Yummy
Looks amazing! The leaving the tomatoes unseasoned hurts my soul a little bit, but it still looks super flavory.
Ok, You know that I am a Fan..
But This Sandwich Build is Over the top and Around again..!!
I’m fucking flabbergasted on the chance thing!!
Enjoyed this, Butt what happened to the cooking in foil series😢? How did it end? Did the food get cooked? The suspense...
Doesn't traditional caprese have a balsamic reduction on it?
Hey Sam
Make your own version of the New Haven-style white clam🍕
Cheers from San Diego California
Sam you out did yourself
That last step with the cheese tomato and basil I liked that

Skip the chicken. I've made it both ways and without the chicken the flavors really really shine through! Thanks again Sam!

Never been a fan of pesto, always made me feel like I'm eating a Christmas tree. This does look very good though. Amazing looking.
Looks amazingly delicious 😋
Whole new segment idea; What Do the Boyz Want to Eat?” 😂 GREAT looking sandwich 🥪!!
Oh GAWD! This is perfection right here! Mouth watering, Sweet baby Jesus!
MAX - compare the color grading in the video to the videos from 6 months ago. Skin tones are off recently. Sam lookin purple.
Although it’s obvious to the casual observer, the cheese (mozzarella ) that was put in the sandwich was never identified 😮
