  • Today I tested a 2016 Dodge Challenger SXT to see if it was worth buying over the much desired V8 R/T. Although it may have its setbacks I believe the v6 was able to prove itself to be a worthy car in my book!!

Absolutely, for a car you can buy in the low 20k range new. It's has 300hp, good gas mileage, comfortable, nice interior, with plenty of room, and it does very well on the highway. Good all around car for the money, plus you can fit family or friends in it too.

Most people who prefer hemi/V8 probably can't even handle the car.. if you live in congested areas I dont feel it's all that necessary to push all that power down the street ... I can see if you lived near the desert or somewhere secluded where you can actually take the car to open up the engine.. Otherwise you can expect a lot speeding tickets.. hopefully no accidents and or fatalities... it's nothing wrong with having a V6/base mod engine.. especially if you like to chill and drive

I’ve had a ton of GREAT outlooks. #1 it’s better to buy a low option V8 than a high option 6. It’s harder to put power in than it is to put in creature comforts. #2 everyone that buys a 6 ends up getting the 8 and wasted there time. #3 if you need a daily .. buy a daily. This is where the V6 shines. Day to day. It’s the perfect combo. I bought mine brand new in 2016, I got 29.6 mpg from Portland Oregon to Reno NV and we made a ton of bathroom stops. It has every option, it’s big, never feel cramped. It’s still fun AF to dog race on highway.

But at the same time, I am not the biggest sports car enthusiast I have much to learn plus for now the only ones that will be in my cat is my girlfriend and a few friends. I'm 23 and have never owned one so I believe it would be a good start for me. Honestly, my friend just recently bought himself a 2018 Challenger v8 T/A and riding in that a few times with sports mode on I do not mind buying the cheaper SXT v6 to start with and feel the differences between the two.
