Promoted listings is a rip-off! If I took my car to my mechanic and he told me if I would pay him 10% more he would fix it better, I would get in my car and drive away. You are already paying eBay to sell your item and then they want to charge you more to sell it better!

We were promoting everything at 10% but, we felt like we weren't getting the exposure we should be getting so, we dropped back to only 2%
I haven't been promoting the new listings and the relistings and my sales have been as good as they have been all year. Not sure what I'm going to do moving forward!

I had never promoted any listing until a month ago I tried 100 items at 10% and only one of those items has sold. I always used to end five listings and sell similar every day until recently I then started searching all active items that are ending today and end those items and sell similar and our sales have been significantly improved too. After hearing you say you started I did it in a bigger way than I was some days are 20 items sometimes they’re 70 but much better sales.

I have been doing "relisting" for several months now. And I have been making steady sales. I tried promoted listings and so far, it hasn't changed what I have be doing. I started doing sales on RUclips ( I have a show tonight with Tiffany's Cool Finds!) and that has helped my bottom line! Overall sales have been good.
New tablet is here and this is the last straw with them... Never again will I pay good money for a cheap Chinese piece of junk...even though I got it from the Lenovo surplus store... Too much I hate...not enough to like outside of YT videos...
As far as promoted listings go, only certain items make sense to promote. If the otem is rare or not many for sale, promoting makes no sense. If the market is saturated with say a video game, then it makes sense to promote and get yours to the top. I did promote for awhile and it seemed to help, then it just stopped being helpful so now I don't promote anything. I do however, end and sell similar every day, that for me, works.
There is no bloody way that Halloween hotel cost $42 to ship. Are you serious? Fedex or USPS ground would have been HALF that price. Come on. What a ripoff! I would have told you to keep it.
Another BOLO... This is a Weird Al classical crossover CD that's long been out of print and finding it under $100 is a steal... This recording of Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf paired with Saint-Saens Carnival of the Animals with Wendy Carlos at the synthesizer is averaging $500 a CD... When Al comes to town...I'm getting it autographed... BTW...I found this on another auction site and bought it for $55...please feed and shipping... I finally have my Weird Al holy grail that wasn't in LP format...and worth around $250-- 325...double if autographed...

I recently just got my seller rating back to above standard so I have been promoting. So far it has helped. I has helped me clear inventory which is my main goal right now. So if it takes giving eBay and extra 3 to 4 bucks so be it. I may pull back on the promoting once I feel like I've cleared the things I want out. I actually carry a VHS and DVD with me when garage and estate hunting. I test them on the spot and haven't been burned since

i have sold mary kay never had a issue on ebay
I have been promoting at 10% and I just don't feel like I'm getting the traffic I should be for that promotion.
I have almost quit promoting and my sells have improved since I have been doing the relisting. I may just relist every couple months instead of promoting so much.
That is a great idea on promoted listings. I have been all in on promoted listings, but it looks like maybe I need to experiment for a bit and see if they are really helping or maybe I am just feeding the eBay monster unnecessarily. Thanks for a great video...and that Mary Kay was a great score.
I still recommend promoting. It's just with all this ending and relisting it has spiked my sales enought that I haven't been promoting. I will go back to promoting soon!

don't you get charged for promoted if someone goes in your store to look at a promoted listing but then buys a non promoted listing I think you still get charged as a promoted one I don't promote anything

Just started my 5th year. Everyone grows at a different pace. You may grow much quicker!
If you ever signed a Mary Kay consultant agreement, it is a violation of the terms of that contract to sell on Amazon, eBay, or any other site… even if you are no longer a consultant. Other wise not a vero to my knowledge. Some mary kay is retired and brings good money. Never had an issue here.
