This album got an entire generation of kids into death metal.
Slipknot is not generally considered to be a death metal band, but if you really listen to the riffs on this album they drew tons of influence from death metal records.

As for the reaction itself - thank you for making another Slipknot one, and I hope there's many more to come. My favorite album used to be Vol 3, and I'm only recently getting more into "Slipknot" and "Iowa", so this episode was awesome to watch. I'd recommend "No life" as their early work, it's mind-blowing.
I didn't mind the Joey focus on this one, and you gave Paul an honorable mention, so as for the fans - you ticked those boxes, sadly both now deceased.
Also, if you've made a video for Unsainted we'd love to see it, I think Jay has adopted the Slipknot style and is now creating something new with it. I do hope Joey was proud of the work he did for them, because I think he nailed it. Although... I would've preferred 'Nero Forte', 'Not Long For This World', or 'Solway Firth', each of them a musical journey.

Geebz done did it again! I absolutely love the look of disgust when you heard that nasty pre-verse hat roll. Joey's legacy will never be gone! He was a huge inspiration as a young drummer and people say they can hear it in my style. R.I.P. -#1-

One of the things that make me enjoy this channel so much is that even if you refer to yourself as an old composer, your every reaction to the music you listen to is like I'm watching a young kid getting to know new stuff, and that reminds me of a younger version of myself all the time, even when I'm on my late twenties. Music is endless, we simply can't get to the bottom of it, and that is wonderful, it makes music really special, and being able to witness your reactions, even when you understand whats going on, you get how to make those sounds, you are able to comprehend the patterns, the craftmanship, yet you still react to it as a young kid, it's what makes this whole journey priceless.

Its been several years since I listened to disasterpiece and what better time than now, I did forget just a dismasterpiece it was it made me feel like a kid again for a few minutes and isn't that why we have our favorite bands/songs, and this one is one of mine. Beautiful song great reaction thank you for dusting this one off for me.

Really appreciate you covering this and for the shout out to Joey (RIP). Since you mentioned the bass work, I think its also fitting to give a shout out (RIP) to Paul Gray. He passed a few years ago and was another founding member of slipknot. On this track he was doing a lot of the backing vocals and was slipknots bassist. Great job as always! :)

thanks for taking the time to pay some tribute to joey. I grew up on his metal drumming, and it leaves some real pain knowing he's gone.
If you're looking for something outside of metal to check out, might I suggest the ska band Mad Caddies, my favorite personally is from their 1998 album Duck and Cover. Check out Macho Nachos, Econoline, or Medium Unwell from it, such great production from that era!

I reccomend you go back and watch some of their live performances from their early days. These guys went absolutely insane on stage. It's hard to describe the energy, particularly in their younger days, they emitted in their live performances. I've seen them literally beat the hell out of each other during a show. They were very visceral experiences to see them live
