I think a multiplayer-focused Charlie Kane would be interesting. His deck building could be cards that target "investigator(s) at your location". And maybe he has an ability where he gains resources whenever he plays a card that affects OTHER investigators. So it always gives him the incentive to support his team and gain resources for it. They like his leadership and give him money to keep supporting them more.
I would play the hell out of a Charlie Kane like that.
Funny how many of these predictions have come through so well.
Potential Charlie Kane cards:
Havana cigar (asset), Smoke filled room, Firm handshake, Payoff (weakness), City limits - police allies are free at any Arkham location
Is that Charlie Kane in the Charisma artwork? Looks like, and also starts with the same 4 letters.
I want a character that can dual wield weapons to boost their fight when they have two weapons out. I am not sure of the lore on who that would be. Design a weakness time something called cocky or overconfident where anyone can take it at minus 1 experience so buying it gives you an experience point. You get plus one to all skills. Anytime you fail you put a resource token on it. After 3 fails you flip the card and you get minus 2 to all skills. After its flipped you need 3 successes to flip the card back. At the bottom of all of that you have to test after each round based on the amount of tokens on the card fail and you take 2 horror.
In Arkham Horror (2e), Charlie Kane's deal is paying to prevent the terror level from rising. He's also one of only a handful of investigators to start with an Ally. I do like your ideas of how to have him interact with allies, but I think I would like his abilities to be something like this: Main ability - can spend resources to reduce the difficulty of a Parley skill check by 1 point per resource spent. Elder sign ability - can spend a resource to remove 1 doom from the current agenda.
Charlie Kane, Class: Neutral+Fortune cards. You may put into your deck assets of any class but you may only play ally type. Ability: As a free action during your turn, you may play an asset from your hand and give it to another investigator in the same location that shares that assets class.
I also loved Eldritch and I’ve been curious how they would implement Lily Chen and her boosted abilities.
Monterey Jack has a great story in the Investigators of Arkham that ties to Egypt which I would love a themed expansion of.

Wilson Richards is really the investigator I look forward to see. He is my favorite in all the Arkham games.
I would like a neutral character, who can take specific traits from every class up to level 5. Just as an example what I mean: Guardian weapons, Seeker relics, Mystic spells, Rogues tricks and Survivors fortunes. Of course, in practice this would be too extreme, maybe a couple of traits per class, but more niche ones would be better. And maybe any level 0 ally on top of that.

In Eldritch, Charlie is on eof our players absolute favourite character. He loves buying shit for everyone and then, when everyones got all their stuff, he gives away an action every turn.
Charlie Kane should have two abilites.
1) Assets cost one less to play, to a minimum of one. (This will increase 0 cost Assets, but encourages you away from them)
2) Once per turn Fast, give control of an Asset you control to another investigator in your location.
I would make him Rogue with Survivor off-class.

Also Norman Withers-Style building for #4 would be awesome as a Seeker that starts with his mind intact and then turns into a Survivor because he's slowly losing it
