If a chaos token is canceled/ignored entirely (e.g. Jacqueline's ability) then it is treated as never having been revealed. If only the effects of the token and/or its modifier are canceled/ignored, but not the token itself (e.g. Defiance) then it is still treated as having been revealed.

My fav memory about david renfield was playing the carcosa cycle and just shouting -you know who's- name to kill renfield at the right moment.

I agree on all the things you said about Jacqueline being great for new players. Assuming there's someone at the table who can audit how all the chaos bag manipulation works.

Use Azure/Clairvoyance/Ineffable to do well at the test, use Scrying mirror to predict a token, use crystal pendulum to give an exact prediction and draw 1 card and throw in Prescient to draw back one of the Azure/Clairvoyance/Ineffable used earlier back into your hands. Getting 2 clues with Clairvoyance, getting 1 random card and getting a spell back sounds like a really good 1 action.

Thank you for this guide! Finally got a Jacqueline Fine pack and it’s a game within the game, so many things to think about and remember!

Wither (4) is pretty solid if you are using chaos bag tech; I got a lot of use out of it in a Diana deck.

We have played 4 man TFA campaing with her and her ability is absurdly good. They will need to taboo it most likely. To use it only for her and not for other investigators.
Every time you had clutch roll you just use her ability. Was fun because we were playing blind TFA and thats very hards but otherwise too overpowered.

Loving these videos, really interesting to hear your thoughts on the cards. One thing I'm less keen on is the suggestion at the start of each to pick up a second core set. Whilst I know it's beneficial for consistent deck building, I would never recommend a second core to a new player (I don't own one myself, and have never wanted one). Id instead suggest they spend 20-30 on a deluxe and then buy the mythos packs, and only once really invested to consider a second core. I've never felt like I need the consistency, and if all I owned was a starter deck and the core set (which some players watching this video may), I'd maybe feel a bit weird to have a second core suggested at the start! Just a very minor thought (and obviously a topic covered a million times over in internet discussions). :)

It's why we suggest buying a second copy OR proxying the cards you don't have two of. If you wanted two copies of a Ward of Protection in your starting deck, making a proxy of that is very easy. And it will also make your deck more consistent. It's moreso to stress that two copies of cards will make your deck better, rather that players need two core sets immediately. I proxied my cards for a long time until I eventually grabbed my second core set.

would be great if you tell what card you would swap, or have the build change. Its hard to know what to swap out.

hey guys, loving all the content as i get into this awesome game!
    2 questions:
first, with cards like dark prophecy or voice of ra, where you reveal multiple tokens, do you do so all at once, i.e. 5 tokens out of the bag at once, or do you reveal one, return it to the bag, reveal a second, return it, etc.? the wording of her investigator card suggests you do all 3 at once when it says 'additional' tokens, but i'm not sure about the others. but the other cards are more ambiguous.
secondly, this is to do with trauma and it's mechanics. i understand that trauma goes with you throughout the campaign, but is it possible to heal it back or is it a permanent depletion of your max horror/health? example: you have an investigator with 9 mental, and you take one mental trauma. next scenario you start with 1 mental damage, so 8 mental hp. can you use a card to remove a horror and go back to nine? or is it forever at 8 max for the campaign now? if you can heal it back, does that remove it totally, or would the NEXT scenario still start at 8 again?

      Hello. :)
With cards like Voice of Ra, you reveal all the tokens at once without returning any in the bag.
For trauma, you can heal the starting damage or horror throughout the scenario, but your trauma will carry over between scenarios and you'll always start with damage or horror equal to your trauma.
      Hope this helps!

Can you use Scroll of Prophecies to draw and discard a weakness? Or does the weakness resolve itself immediately despite you needing to still resolve the rest of Scroll's ability?

Hi all! I just recently got my Jacky pack and I've been playing her as my first mystic experience as well, I know you can use her ability to draw 2 more tokens for her signature weakness, giving you 7, but a reply on ArkhamDB said you could also commit Dark Prophecy as well? (which would result in 11 token draw at the end of your turn to search for the superstar), is this legit?

When it gets to "Read the Signs" at 49:50 you guys say you get 3 clues for it. Which mechanic makes it 3 and not 2? I tried to figure it out with all the cards before but... no... why 3?

Question: If i reveal 3 token and 1 is a red token, i can cancel it. What about the other 2? Count both for the skill check?

  • @christianbay7614
    @christianbay7614 4 года назад +1

For combining revealing of token you have to choose which token gets replaced before you reveal.
So Jacqueline uses her ability: Says on the first token I use Olive: Then draw 3 tokens with Olive and choses two of them. Then Jacqueline reveals the remaining 2 tokens to a total of 4 and chooses 2 of them or remove 1 autofail token.
