    Very good overview and helpful reminder. I’m finding the really interesting edge to be building on multi-party synergies like Calvin with Mark to solemn vow his Sophie damage or Jackie and Jim/Mateo to better leverage song of the dead or elder sign. I think Innsmouth will really lean into this since you can do tricks with blessing or curse but the whole team needs to do it to produce enough of those tokens. Very intuitive categories and good illustrations, thanks!

    The content from your channel has been so helpful for me understanding and enjoying the game. I just wish you had more POVs around true solo (not two-handed) play. Maybe you guys just don't play that way that much. I'll check out your solo playlist for sure, but just an observation.

    39:17 Worth noting here (because of Daisy specifically and because of Research Librarian offering card selection for high-XP cards, and because it's realllly weird) that the Archaic Glyphs upgraded versions are not Tomes. They are only Spells. The level 0 version is an Item/Occult/Tome, and it loses all of those traits on upgrade in what I have always assumed was a deliberate slap in the face to people playing Daisy through Path to Carcosa as it was being released.
    (My actual guess is that they had yet to consider assets taking up more than one slot, like Flamethrower/Enchanted Blade.)
    (Losing the traits is also double-bizarre because the "Guiding Stones" flavor makes it sound like the investigator should still have to have the physical object on them to use it.)

    All I know is if they made this into a high quality PC game, with the same quality and standards of Legends of Runererra, I would probably quit playing Legends of Runeterra and play this.

    Coup de grâce* ("grass") ; by not pronouncing the final S sound, Brynn said something like "Coup de gras", which in French would mean "Fat slap":P Like, slapping the enemy with your own fat:D

    I really dislike adding Burning the Midnight Oil with xp. I think it belongs in the core deck, even over Inquiring Mind.
    I also like to have a couple of 1x Tomes in Daisy, especially as the Librarian can fecth Old Book of Lore, which gets all the rest of your tomes very fast.

      Tbh, I think it was just a slip of the mind when I was writing the decklists and I just kind of justified it on the spot.

    There's a number of issues I have wit this game. One is deck building. Being forced to use bad cards so they can be upgraded to be functional is annoying especially since those cards are holding the player back from succeeding in th first place. Second is card economy. There are some really nice cards, but obviously not all can be put into one deck, and the largest single killer is resources. There's not enough cards to gain a resource edge unless you are playing green. There's also not a lot of ways to draw more cards from the deck, specifically to look for cards since drawing may result in another obnoxious feature that has variable difficulty, that being the character specific treachery cards. those that do offer some card draws or card searches are primarily for a specific color made even less flexible because of their intended character play style. Lastly experience points per scenario isn't fixed, and can be inflated with the use of very specific deck types. Another variable to make looking at the end resulting deck difficult to figure out.
    The game isn't just about winning, but winning with as much experience as possible to keep up with the difficulty ramp of future scenarios.
    Also, if you guys are still around making videos about arkham horror - is there anything to fix the scenarios that are lacking? Some scenarios are all combat, and some have almost no combat.... how to build solo decks around those? Are there even characters tat are just not suitable for sepcific scenarios? Are there characters from each color that are great solo, and who are they? (i know some that a stupid good at one thing)
    It's pretty disparaging to be completely hosed by a game because there was no way to build around it.

    Just wondering if you guys have any deck building ideas for beginners using one core set and only the first box of Dunwich(not the deluxe one for some reason?)? I like Rex and Ashcan Pete, possibly Roland?

      Also, how do you utilize the tomes? The lvl 0 ones do not seem that great.

      I don't know if you've seen these, but we have guides for building an investigator with 2 cores and their cycle. While your collection may be lacking what we have in this video, there's guidance there for what the investigator should be doing and it may help you find replacements for cards you don't have.
      Ashcan: ruclips.net/video/ywK55kwv4X0/видео.html
      Rex: ruclips.net/video/HDwxFvMGVe4/видео.html
      Roland: ruclips.net/video/cxT8YaoPOMc/видео.html
      As for tomes, they are hard to take advantage of in a smaller collection unless you are using Daisy. She has a great time with tomes.
      Hope this helps!

    Hey, looking at your upgraded Daisy deck: 8 allies and no Charisma, most of whom you'll want to keep around. Seems like too many allies to me. What am I missing?

    • @PlayingBoardGames
      @PlayingBoardGames  2 года назад +1

      We're running the card Miksatonic Archaeology Funding, which grants two additional ally slots for Miksatonic allies. This gives those extra ally slots we really want!

    The pyramid is color coded Survivor->Guardian->Seeker->Mystic. Illuminati confirmed?
    Starting off with a small card collection, there's not many choices to be had. With a growing collection, I netdecked hard, and from them figured out some of the concepts included in this video.

    so funny listening to you pronounce Pnakotic. It's a bit like pneumatic, it has a silent P. So phonetically it is Na-Kot-ic. Hope that helps

    agnes baker for the fights and the troll, and ashcan pete clues and killing stuff with failed rolls. rocking pete the dog plus 8 fight or clues and can ready dog with a discard. deck set up to fail you will be getting clues as you fail fucking monster off and having a good time. all the ive only done the first 3 missions gathering, midnight mask true test. and the big boss monster, it was hard with harvey walters and jenny barns. and the decks have great card advantage and using resurses. why make gathering so easy, then midnight mask so hard and annoying stalling you and getting in your way. the last mission way easy set up wait monster out then kill him throw the girl at it.done.

    Either you didn`t explain it well or purpose and function are basicly the same.

    • @jacobb5484
      @jacobb5484 3 года назад +7

      Purpose is what you want to be doing. It is mostly conceptual and helps decide if there's any special investigator or key card, It would be something like "I want to investigate as a mystic while stacking will", "I want to play a Lola Hayes tarot deck" or, "I want to solo Carcosa"
      Function is how you'll be achieving these goals and avoiding failure. It is more concreate and usually is related to a number of cards in your deck. it would be "I'm gonna include Lucky for risk mitigation", "Finger Print Kit & magnifying glass for clue gathering", "Clairvoyance to use my high wisdom..."

    Super vague, examples of the cards you are referencing is critical for understanding. There is none of that here.
