    Definitely a fast plane. Crashed mine and waiting on the fuse to come back in stock so took the motor out and installed in my Eflite F-16 Thunderbirds and hit 122.8 in level flight on the Spektrum GPS unit. Your video gave me some reassurance that the Spektrum GPS is fairly accurate. Great vid!!
    UPDATE: Replaced fuse and installed a Freewing 2210kv motor and a 100amp Eflite esc also repainted to a Blue Angels paint scheme and hit 126.3 top speed straight and level flight with a 3300mah 100c Yowoo graphene battery. This jet has enough thrust that I have started flying a Gens Ace 5600mah 80c pack and getting 6+ minutes of flight time flying mixed throttle. Jet handles pretty much the same as with the lighter packs but almost doubles the time in the air. Jet has become my go to edf and coupled with a Spektrum AR637TA receiver I’m using the Spektrum gps telemetry module and no longer worried about setting a timer with having pack voltage telemetry by splicing the power wires and plugging into the voltage input port. Currently switching my non Eflite fleet over to this receiver since it can give pack telemetry regardless of what brand esc I use. Not having to worry about hitting low voltage cut off has made flying SO much more enjoyable by removing the guesswork and fear of power loss especially on an edf. Can’t beat having speed, altitude, and pack voltage callouts on a switch to keep from having to look away from the plane and then find it in the air again to physically see the telemetry screen. Keep it up fellas!!

    The field must be freshly cut for you F18 to get off that easily. We have 375ft and my F18 took all but 3 inches of it. My club president just got rid of his after it would not get off the grass too many times. You're right once it got up she flew great and yes a good head wind is must to get this bird off grass even with flaps. But all and all a great flyer if I got it off the strip.😏🛫

    • @RCPlaneReviewer
      @RCPlaneReviewer  2 года назад +2

      It actually gets off the ground decently with out it being freshly cut but we fly off
      Like a centipede mix.its got the power to blast through it. Our field is 600ft and drops down 17ft so that helps too!! But it is a food flyer..definitely not a beginner jet!

    I had one of these and while it flew well (and sounded good), it seemed well under-powered. It would not rotate off grass without flaps, (or 200' of grass) and it felt mushy in turns at anything below 60-70% throttle. I guess I had a dodgy one. (it was a v2 also). - I wound up selling mine.
    I may have to get another one and give it a try.....(especially after seeing the new Maverick movie) 😁😎

    • @RCPlaneReviewer
      @RCPlaneReviewer  2 года назад +2

      Yeah mine here wasn't like that at all! Lots of power and lots of speed! No mushy turns just strong movements

      @@northernrcflyer not at all it rotates off 1/4 grass with no problems. I used a 5000mah Hrb lipo

    • @matttownsend3069
      @matttownsend3069 Год назад +2

      I have both. The Eflite definitely looks better and is quite a bit bigger but is much harder to fly than the FMS 70mm. The FMS also lands much easier than the bigger Eflite which can stall in turns and on final if you lose too much airspeed. Imo there’s a much bigger pucker factor flying the Eflite and the FMS is more enjoyable to fly for that reason.
