i have been baking these cakes for 6yrs now, started with a simple recipe, moved to more flashy ones with breadcrumbs and supposedly better wines etc, trust me when i tell you guys simple is best. The best balance is between the sweetness from the sugar and fruits versus the slight bitterness from the wine and browning/burnt sugar, find that balance. This recipe here and her method of having everything ready separately will make this easy for you and produce delicious cakes with balance of ingredients, the yield is also perfect as you don't want to be in the kitchen for only one to two cakes, follow along perfectly and then experiment. This is a great video and thanks for sharing to the benefit of so many.

That’s awesome, if you like it heavy and traditional use 5 cups of blended or chopped fruits, I prefer to chop in a processor, if you don’t have one then blend in sml batches in your blender, that way it doesn’t blend too smooth which can result in a pudding like cake
