Yes, u did a good job baking this cake. This is the best one I have tried to make so far. The only change I need to make for myself is to use smaller baking pans, because when I use the deep pans it takes longer and I don't how much time I need to leave it in the oven.

My first time ever making Black Cake. I used your recipe and a wave of nostalgia ran through me after the first bite as if my mom was the one that baked it. I shared it with some family members and they too loved the taste. There was 1 family member that mentioned that it was good but needed to be a little darker in color. But like you, I too don't like my Black Cake too dark so I used the same browning measurement as you did and explained to that family member that they can have it darker the way they liked it WHEN THEY BAKED THEIR OWN.
