Thank you for tuning in brother. That shaft size is causing me not to buy another one actually. Although I really do enjoy it, the shaft size isn't working for me. And the can is super long, I really like shorter cans for the weight. Thank you for the good words man!! For sure love his stuff and I'm happy to help anytime
Love you're videos,of course I have a xrt loaded with vitavon and gpm parts.after watching this video I bought the 5690 and max 5 g2 esc and I agree it is fantastic.keep making these videos I'll be watching.
Great video. Bit a better comparison would be using same esc paired with the different motors. Or xlx2 vs Max5 . Or max6 vs mmx8s but your vid was max5 vs mmx8s.
This exactly. Glad someone else caught this. I’m looking at the 1721 + XLX 2.. belt drives pull more current than gears due to belt drag. Heats them up more and run times are a bit lower also. Having extra power is best for belt setups.
Thanks for tuning in!! I definitely choose the XRT over the k8 everyday. Although the k8 is a good rig there are just many reason I like and love the XRT much more for bashing.
It definitely has more power. But i choose to use this smaller motor because it's a lot lighter and is still faster. The 1100 longer can is just more beefy by a lot. Torque wise. That's the real power. But the size is what i like more about the 1250
I'm currently building my traxxas XRT to use a hobbywing easy run 56118 G2 1100 KV and require the max 5 G2 due to the enormous size of the 1100 versus the original 1100. The length on this new G2 1100 is the same as a soda can.. we'll be using WFO RC 1.5 mod gears 30/35 spur and pinion . I had a Max 6 originally in this and I would have to unsolder 8 mm bullet connectors that are on the motor and that's just pointless. It's a sensored system now so it needs to run how it's meant to. If you use the blue tooth adapter with the hobbywing app for your phone. You can tune the turbo mode in it. Also, the max 5 G2 is capable of 12S with an 800 KV
XRT Ultimate here. What would you say is the best motor and esc combo for me? Prefer hobby wing. I’m very new to this hobby and prefer to keep it as simple and easy as possible. I do have a pair of heavy ass SMC 11300 batteries so I’m ready for more power! And what spur gear and pinion do you recommend?
Hello, I'd go with a HW 5690 1259 kv and a max5 And a PnwRcMadness motor mount and esc caddy. Feel free to pm me on Facebook and I can help you out more
That 1250 Hobbywing setup seems like the ticket not crazy hard on anything and like ya said abit lighter. What’s gearing on this one (ratio) Chris for gears or is this one your belt system?
Honestly amazing, my brother. What do you recommend for my traxas sledge? What engine can I improve and what Racing kit can I put on it to make it go faster?
Those big-block setups seem to get same top speed as stock, but whole lot more torque to hit top speed quicker. Does that seam accurate to anyone else? The throttle response and air control appears to be WAY better with both of these.
The zeee batteries you have are not good. If they drop that much in voltage they are under 3v per cell, this is killing the batteries. But look into your datalogs and you will find your answer...
I have the hw setup in my stock xrt and I’m thinking about upping the gearing some more. Currently running 32/13 and it’s definitely getting 50+ and the temps are about 130 after a full pack so there’s probably enough overheard to get to 60. The most shocking thing to me is that I also installed a spektrum 4985 1250kv in my Xmaxx and that with 50/18 gearing runs cooler. Is a bit slower but feels fine for the more wheelie happy HCG chassis.
You talk about an underpowered castle setup. Yes the MMX8s is sufficient in general for the 1721 but not with belt drive and certainly not compared to a HW Max 5. Max 6 would be a fair comparison.
My biggest issue with HW is the LVC. I’ve gotten used to the traxxas escs, where they give you a sharp speed cut and then give you ample time to drive back. I’ve never had to go fetch my traxxas esc cars, but almost always have to go fetch my hw powered ones. They need to adopt the system traxxas uses.
Totally understand your feelings on that. I don't normally run the lipo too lvc So I've yet to find that out, but I will see if it does the next time. Thanks for tuning in brother!! Have a good day
@@KamikRC you don’t drive as far from yourself as I do. I can put about an acre between myself and the car and the power cut is very sudden and short. All hobbywing and spektrum escs do this
@@dylanwhite6539 I do, I just don’t film it. That big field behind my house, I’ll go and go until I can barely see. But I’ve also got pretty good at timing how much I can run and hit lvc. So I’ve got that. But never had a problem like you’re having. Mine will hit lvc and drastically slow down then I just cruise it home.
@@KamikRC I’ve had nine different hobbywing escs, 2 spektrum and one ARRMA esc, all have about 20 seconds between lvc causing notable slowdown and total throttle lockout, which is simply no where near enough. Traxxas vxl escs have a very sharp power cut that’s easier to notice and there’s a solid 3 minutes of full throttle lvc time. Hell it might be even longer than that. 20 seconds is simply no where near enough of a warning. Doesn’t matter what settings I change, they’re always like that. Depending on where they cut I might get them most of the way back but there’s been plenty of times they’ll only make it half way. I’ve added voltage telemetry to my hw or spektrum esc models and bring them in before lvc even hits now.
I think i'd definitely pick castle over hw but those castle motors lose sensored capability in any type of real bashing. I've had it happen to 3 castle motors now so that price difference is sobering. I'd pick a tp motor over both hw and castle lol.
They are definitely expensive. They are just so smooth it's hard not to like them. But now hw has its new sensored systems, they seem to have plenty of kick and very smooth now as well. But the TP🚀😈
No exactly a fair comparison honby wong in running much smaller and lighter tires and it didnt have a belt drive so the castle is far better then the hobby wing ive had both and by far my castle esc and motors last longer and take more abuse
I’ve had the opposite experience with CC/HW. My HW stuff keeps going and Have yet to have a failure. While CC breaks first run. Over heats or just stops working. Literally same setups with fan’s and gearing making the HW setup faster and runs cooler/longer. I’ll never go castle again if I can help it. But that’s my experience, everyone is different.

What else do these heavyduty tires require apart from the obvious (upgraded servo) ?
Nothing really. The servo is a good one for sure
After having a kraton 8s do you think the xrt is better? I have a spare leopard 5892 1200kv.
Thanks for tuning in!! I definitely choose the XRT over the k8 everyday. Although the k8 is a good rig there are just many reason I like and love the XRT much more for bashing.

Is that tires on XRT belted?

I’m thinking a custom off road wheelie bar with some beefy bar wheels should help speed things up a little.
I would but I bash. But that does give me an idear🤔😂

You can't compare with different gear ratios, let alone the tire weight and height. Apples to oranges.
