I cried,before i got to the part about his beautiful wife passing,I judged and thought she left cause she couldn’t handle it.. These girls are so lucky to have the dad they do,so loving and caring.
As a special instructor for early intervention and camp teacher in Camp HASC, this video truly inspired me. Some of my own students who are adults now work in drug stores, live in group homes and are fully integrated into their communities. The idea of Mr. Sykes to open his candle factory truly shows me how far the value of the special needs community has come since I started my career in 1980. To see how well adjusted and happy Emma and Nicky are just goes to show that everyone has meaning in life and value in society. Mr. Sykes, your love for your late wife and your family shows so brightly! May you have many happy and productive years. This is acceptance at its best. Be blessed.

I was in and out of foster homes I had no friends I was a angry girl until I met James who had down syndrome he helped me so much never was good at making friends but the first time I met him he hugged me and never stopped he showed me unconditional love x
A wonderful loving story. I have always liked people with DS because they are happy, loving, respectful, gentle people. I have a disability and would love to live with a women with Downs Syndrome. This video truly inspired me. As does people with Downs.
My first thought was a picture in my head of the institutionalised type cast with the bowl haircut when I had my 4th child who has DS, he is 35 n0w and I wouldn't change a thing, I went on to have 2 more son's refusing tests as I would have loved another baby with DS, my eldest daughter had 13 rounds of IVF and got pregnant, she was told the baby girl had DS we were all delighted, sadly she died at 33 weeks and I was at the birth, she was beautiful, my daughter now has a typical little boy (IVF ) who is 4 but she wants to adopt a child with DS eventually.What a wonderful family, so nice to see positivity, lovely girls .
