A big take away for power armor is that even if a set you like isn’t technically as good as others, always go for the one you think is the coolest or speaks to you the most. The differences between the armors really isn’t too crazy
I am using the T-51b PA, and I know it is not the best one by far, but I really enjoy its cosmetic and iconic value towards the franchise itself. That version in perticular is really iconic.
T-51 is great. Don't let anybody tell you otherwise. T-51 is the best power armour in the vanilla game except for ultracite. There's only 4 sets that are better and they were all added later. Strangler heart (Which is just ultracite with a small damage buff), T-65, Hellcat (for the set bonus), and Union (also for the set bonus). It also looks the best and has a great skin that you can get for free. The nuka cola skin for T-51 is IMO still one of the best looking skins in the game.
@@crystalz-h1dX-01 is also great. It doesn't have to best damage resistance stats but who cares? It looks fantastic and you can do all the content in the game comfortably while wearing it. No reason not to use it if that's your favourite.
infinite fusion core tip: get the legendary perk "electric absorption" (it'll only work with electric absorption) and sit in a place with a lot of robot enemies or enemies with laser weapons and while they shoot you, there is a chance you will restore health and fusion core energy, but make sure not to sit there too long, because if it doesn't trigger you're probably going to die.
Bethesda is in need of a few overhauls in 76. One of them is power armor sets. All of the power armors with set bonuses are just superior to the rest and it creates a situation where there is a defined beginner, middle, and endgame set. Excavator while leveling (non legendary). Then once you unlock hellcat you'll use that for the entire middle of your characters gearing, rolling legendary effects to get decent rolls like overeaters or some weight reduction. Then once your hellcat set is solid its just grinding out stamps to get the union armor, which will require some rolling to replace your hellcat. They really need to go back and give each of the power armors their own set bonus so that there is a reason to use them based on playstyle. Give the X0-1 the same thing as hellcat but energy, give secret service explosion resistance. Theres many ways they could breath life back into power armor to get people to want to work on collecting the sets again, and not just add new ones via power creep.
@@user-nb4ou7on5q They wouldnt be the same, if like I said, you have them unique set bonuses that lean toward a playstyle. They would inherently have their different levels of protection, like they do now. A large part of the PA community dislikes the fact that visually they are limited in appearance because the latest and greatest PA usually arent compatible with paint jobs. Having a visual option would open a lot of doors for people.
Erm does anyone else just stick with the excavator the entire game because of that +200 carry weight? Its more value than anything else could offer (besides backpack obviously)
When I first started using power armor I rolled a set of Overeaters T-60. T-60 doesn't have the best base stats but it was very effective. I'm currently running around in a set of Overeaters Union and the poison resistance and carry weight boost make the game a lot more fun.
I really like the T60 aswell. I spent hours collecting and turning in technical data to earn the T60 BOS Elder skin. Of course that is back when few skins, and other PA was available. These days I would say Union is the most practical.
Last year for a new character I modded a level 15 set of raiders. I was mind blown 🤯 how good it was. With welded rebar chest not only was I taking very little damage but melee enemies were killing themselves attacking me. It was the same when I got excavator at 25. 😁
I found out about the Excavator Power Armor & its carry weight bonus as well as the fact that the quest to unlock it ALSO unlocks the power armor workstation PLAN for your CAMP a while back & so I went & did the quest, and I've been using my excavator armor since. I will probably switch over to the Union power armor as soon as I figure out how to get the plans for it, though (probably use the frame that currently has my full ultracite set on it, which was the first power armor frame I got, for the Union set). I will say one of the other bonuses for the excavator is that its coloring is similar to the Foundation Settler items' coloration, and since I'm mostly siding with the Settlers, that works out great for me.
You’ll get the Union PA plans from Expeditions, either as a random weekly drop from Pitt Expeditions, or buying them from Guiseppe in the Whitespring Refuge with the stamps you get. The next update is set to bring the prices down to 120 stamps per piece, so get grinding.
Yeah I’m pretty sure even t51b was supposed to be like composite material which was better at blocking energy weapon damage. Hellcat but with 2% energy damage reduction maybe?
@@nano60Yeah T-51b is great against energy damage, it was used to power through the Chinese Pulse Field to secure Alaska in the Battle of Anchorage. Along with It being the lightest Power Armor out there to handle within. It's air tight too so working in highly radiated areas shouldn't affect the operator badly. Those are just some ideas on how to specialize T51b
I’ve been a stealth commando for years but since I got a matching set of T45 with bolstering ap refresh weapon weight reduction I’m having a lot of fun as heavy gunner.
Excavator is a total top of A power armour and a absolute daily PA for probably 70% of players especially players who started in the early days, dome later players have never done the missions for it but that extra weight plus add calibrated shock and motion assist sooooo good
I’ve been using a mixed PA set at it seems to work fine- excavator arms, X-01 chest piece- I do plant on changing it to hell cat when I unlock it, T-60 helmet and legs cause they are the only cheap calibrated shocks I could find thanks to watoga
I bought the plans for ultracite last night for 25 caps each from a vendor and the dude showed up and gifted me the full set it looks amazing..what an absoloute G! So as a thank you i purchased the jet pack from him for 500 caps lol
I started using Ultracite, then hellcat and finally got T-65. I have never had to repair ANY of my PAs. I like the T-65 but I wouldn't put the excavator in tier A because it has no jetpack and the strangler armor just looks stupid to me.
Really you can’t go wrong with any PA. Go for the one that looks cool or gives you the best quality of life. Personally I run Overeaters Hellcat and I love it. But I’m going to start rolling an Overeaters T-60 (Turtle you forgot! 😊), just for the aesthetic. Even though, on paper, the T-60 doesn’t have the best stats or extra effects, it will still keep me alive in any situation. With the right build T-60, or any other PA set, will make you virtually unkillable.
Now that we can be a somewhat effective unarmed power armor build what power armors are good for unarmed builds because I checked that T-51b deals a lot more damage than Hellcat both with Tesla Bracers
I use t65 torso and legs with hellcat arms and helmet. Gives you the benifits from high damage resist plus 6% or up to 10% if you only keep the t65 torso
T-65 Overeaters set is my preferance. gives a solid mitigation % and has highest base stats. Use funky duds for poison resist. Never have to worry about poison unless I stand in it.
Was excited about using power armor and a pepper shaker for about a month in the test server then they inexplicably took uny off PA and explosions off pepper shaker, haven’t thought about using either since.
Hey turtle, I have a question about excavator. I wonder if you have tested this or if you can think of a way to test test when using excavator and radiation rumble do you get more or because it doesn’t tell you the number like it does when you’re mining or regularly, so do you get four instead of one each time you grab it or off the wall and do you fill up the arm or reserves faster to move the event along? Do you know or can you think of a way to test us? I tried using excavator during the event and I can’t really tell.
The only one you didn't mention is the one I will use on my third character: T 60. I will roll a full assassin's set as it will be a fully explosive build and done I will have a build. :)
T65 is not worth for 6900 bullion. I recommend that you rather grind for Union PA with total 720 stamps (they nerf it), 1000 stamps including jetpacks. With Atlantic city update "Tax Evasion". I could spend like 2 - 4 days for getting the whole union parts because it does give you 15 stamps per match.
Yeah, I pretty much put all the power armor with set bonuses in Astier. They all have a function if you want their carry weight then it’s a excavator if you want die mining if excavator if you want damage reduction it’s hellcat if you want to poison resist it’s union, if you want your helmet not to get scrapped every time you’re in a hurry, then you wanna strangle her heart. The other thing strangler hurt does really well is Agro everything inside your AOE will come running at you pissed off if it if it’s that type of critter, and if you just run through an area, you will wake up ghouls everywhere. Rick walker does this too, but on a much more limited scale, but they are weeds. Much smaller for plague Walker but if you’re not in power armor, yeah no play walkers an option. It also will wait things up but it won’t. For instance, wake up the whole club I was just by running in the front door moving around.
Lately I've been wearing stock excavator power armour instead of my usual deep pocketed combat armour set. It weighs so much less and doubles the full set carry weight bonus. Only thing is since (I think) my only equipped power armour related regular perk card is the one where power armour parts break 60% slower I have to go nude most of the time. The core drainage is real if you don't encounter energy damage for a while.
Bethesda should rephrase "damage resistance" into "armor rating". Its very easy for newer players to get mixed up with actual resistances as it is, lol.
My main character I've run uses excavator just because I like the carry weight and its more than tanky enough for any situation at my lvl. Only downside is no jetpack option. 2nd option I use is the hellcat.
You’re definitely not wrong that no jet pack option is a minus, but Marsupial mutation with Strange In Numbers Perk usually does the job for me 95% of the time.
I play Junkie with full health and low health (depends on how many stims i have on me :D ) and my daily driver for Full HP is T-65 with tesla chest and for low-life i play Strangler heart with emergency Protocolls.. both sets are full weapon weight reduction because i carry almost every heavy weapon with me haha.. i missed the season with the union PA, so i´m still grinding for that.. but union with full weapon weight reduction will be my main PA With my PA sets and perk´s i can do every boss in the game solo with ease.. so yeah.. being a PA user is great. i almost never die haha.. and the junkie-bloodied mix does very good damage. Earl solo in about 7-8 minutes, same for queen and the rat.. all bosses with JunkieFFR GatlingPlasma (ultracite cores). only chem i use for the bosses is psychobuff. no need of anything else

I'm not sure if it was supposed to happen or not, but I deployed a completely bare power armor frame when doing the quest for the Excavator set and it had a full set of Ultracite already equipped, despite me only being level 30 and not too far in the original main quest.
i have a hellcat overeaters with all with ammo weight reduction, carry weight is not an issue for me its when i get out of the power armor that sometimes i cant move lol.
Oh, man! I absolutely hate Armor-Piercing Daily Ops mutations even more than Cloaked or Reflective Skin. What’s even the point of using PA if you’ll get downed with one, two, or three shots, regardless? To hear my new Hellcat armor will mitigate at least some of that is ridiculously helpful. Thanks!
I have not done anything to get stamps for union, but I did make a sad and started dye making it legendary but I just I keep trying to switch a way to hellcat or even the excavator for the benefits they provide, but I can’t get away from the fact that I keep wanting to scrap my helmet, so I keep going back to strangler heart
I hope you've been saving your stamps. In the next update the cost for all the union pieces are discounted to between half and 1/3rd the cost they are now
This is a problem for me also. I usually have to be the one hosting the expedition and even then it takes up to a half hour to get even 1 person to join. Most of the time its just me and one other that do the whole run
@@baconation2637 Yeah I haven't spent many stamps but I don't think I have that many either. I just have been joining expeditions as I have seen them. They're fun but the quests to get there are a barrier I don't cross often.
Also turtle, even though it’s not listed anywhere, as I’m sure you’re well aware when you jump in a set of power armor, your AP use is better if anything prove that some more that well, nothing proved us more than the recent state of automatic weapons like the shredder in the chalk chainsaw, home and auto wax out of power armor navy uses atrocious, but when you jump in power armor, you get about three times as much use out of them before you have to stop and recharge a P
I found something interesting Turtle with the new update. The PA does not longer say Acid Damage but Poison Damage instead. And I think they tweaked the value but I don't know for certain as I never crafted it since I am a T65 user. Can it be confirmed? Will it better now in your ranking?

Turn light, I could swear that it was only ranged ballistic damage not mainly ballistic damage. Can you confirm that it works against all kinds of ballistic damage
Because of all the perk cards, food/drink, chem, and legendary effects/buffs that help you with health, damage resistance, and most importantly damage dodging or whatever you can really choose whatever you think is the nicest or whatever one you like the most. For me i use excavator for the 100 carry weight boost. Also if you hate power armours because they’re clunky and because of that slow ass landing animation GET BIRD BONES it makes power armour actually enjoyable and not annoying
Excavator, the box truck of power armors. Working on collecting legendary hellcat pieces and hoping the stamp reduction of union happens. Recently just started yeeting stuff in my stash so I am not one SBQ/Earl fight away from being over encumbered.
There’s another hidden affect also turtle when you’re in power armor your AP usage goes down even without any kind of perks trades are or mods. Your AP use goes down take a bench made set of power in with no legendary affects run. Your chainsaw, count the seconds that it runs, then jump in your power armor and do it again, power armor of any sort and I don’t. I’ve never tested to see if it’s the chassis or the pieces but when you’re in a full suit of power armor, I guarantee you your AP use is less, in addition, to the other hidden traits, the radiation reduction the damage reduction, the general tankiness

I have t65 overeaters bloody build and it’s the best thing I’ve ever had only things I die to is imposter and poison only because gattling plasma doesn’t give you immediate healing because of spinning barrel, I almost have a full set of hellcat overeat, I can’t get union atm wasn’t here for the scoreboard. Thank you turtle for clearing up why you don’t like t65 it just doesn’t have any added bonuses like union
I use power armor with a balance on look and usability. Heres my list (of ones that ive used). () = looks. [] = Usability. 1. T65 PA (by far the best looking power armor imo, it manages to be a hulking brute while also being clean and sleek looking. The thick layered pauldrons, uniquely shaped helmet and flat front chestplate are my favorite aspects) [while this doesnt have any spectial effects apart from its overwhelming stats, its asthetics are enough for me to use it more than any other PA] 2. Hellcat PA (the second best looking one imo, whe im in it i feel like im wearing an m1 abrams. It has a shroud like the X0-1 but it looks more rigid and robust. The breating tubes on the helmet gives a tactical vibe and the helmet in it of itself looks like it could take a tank round) [The damage resistance is really useful and honestly i really want a similar bonus for thw T-65, maybe like melee resistance or energy resistance?] 3. Union PA (in my opinion this power armor really doent do it for me. It looks like a rusty tin can. I get what theyre going for, but it tries too hard to look menacing with the sharp edges. But then the helmet looks like a toy helmet.) [ I cannot deny the power of the PA, poison resistance is really great to have and the carry weight is a bonus on top] 4. Excavator PA (this set holds a special place in my heart, it was the first power armor i completed and man was it a power trip to use this bad boy, they nailed the asthetics of it being a mining set. The neon yellow parts and flood lamps really insinuate that it was meant to be used in dark areas) [statistically probably the best super early game "
They need to re-add union power armor back into the game. As a player who recently picked the game back up again keep hearing it is good but its not available so I am using excavator for the carry weight instead with funky duds legendary perk at 2*.
I personally just like xo1 just cause the glowing eyes are cool but I think the ultracite power armor should get a buff and a unique power armor effect with all the pieces equipped especially with how hard the mod plans are to get

There’s literally no power armor that’s better than another based on resistance is even that 800 resist you can accomplish in strangler heart for radiation will not help you against radiation if you did not have the 90% radiation reduction, I mean when I do radiation rumble, I can still only go through channel of the arm tunnels Maximo might do it after everyone but I could maybe go through two without removing my radiation and dying even with R800 resist accomplished with the legendary first card, white rats and the strangler heart, radiation, resistant radiation resistance, or any resistance is really don’t mean anything past about 300 or 350 so every power armor is good for that Well like turtle says if they don’t bring anything else to the table, so power armor set bonuses in my opinion are all last year if they provide a set bonus, then they’re S tier
X01 & Hellcat - both OE/Vanguard/+a few pieces with less explosion damage. I think I'm going to retire the exit one for the union. I have a full set sitting on the side but I don't use it because the mods are too expensive still.
You get an entire set of lvl15 raider armor after finishing quests at the top of the world. This reward does not scale with level as I was told. At my lvl 60 it was still lvl15 pa parts
I haven't switched my main guy from T65 to the Union. I should but haven't. I tried, on an alt, to use Hellcat and my test made me go back to the Union he was wearing. It didn't provide enough protection to defend against my test target, the Sheepsquatch Assaultron. It basically deleted me instantly where in T65 I could stand toe to toe with a vampiric Gatling Plasma. Yet instantly taken out when in Hellcat. I don't even think he slowed down.
From what I recall it’s laser is energy so it’s special affect wouldn’t help, if you have that legendary perk which absorbes energy for to charge your fusion cores maybe
I never had issue with poison or fire late game in my T65 3* armor. and 12% ballistic damage mit doesn't matter when you're not taking damage to begin with.
I carry an overeaters set of excavator armor with a jet pack as my daily PA. I don’t have a PA build but it works great for when I need rad protection or for mining.

I personally would’ve put all the power armor that has set bonuses in Estera because they all have their place union. Do you let you carry more and protect you from poison hellcat gives you more ballistic car damage medication on top of you already have strangler heart you don’t scrap your helmet, your Agro everything which for some is a good daily driver if you’re you know farming especially in an excavator you you cannot argue with four times a day or or 100 X for Carey weight and it doesn’t matter what the resistance is on any of them are for daily play gameplay it’s making very little difference if their T 65 levels or excavator levels I wanna place 245 and raider in the eighth here because those can be got now and level 10. All the rest would’ve been in 08 here I mean meteor, including T 65 it’s outrageously expensive to make it doesn’t bring anything to the table except exceedingly high resistance is that aren’t really adding anything to the equation I mean diminishing returns started around 300 I can run around without armor on at about 300

For me i have been using Excavator Power Armor mainly because best carry weight boost i tend carry a lot of stuff so this helps a lot

Excavator is a total top of A power armour and a absolute daily PA for probably 70% of players especially players who started in the early days, dome later players have never done the missions for it but that extra weight plus add calibrated shock and motion assist sooooo good

I’ve been using a mixed PA set at it seems to work fine- excavator arms, X-01 chest piece- I do plant on changing it to hell cat when I unlock it, T-60 helmet and legs cause they are the only cheap calibrated shocks I could find thanks to watoga
I bought the plans for ultracite last night for 25 caps each from a vendor and the dude showed up and gifted me the full set it looks amazing..what an absoloute G! So as a thank you i purchased the jet pack from him for 500 caps lol

I like the look of 51b on one of my characters. X o1 too but for serious stuff it’s Union/Hellcat of course.
I started using Ultracite, then hellcat and finally got T-65. I have never had to repair ANY of my PAs. I like the T-65 but I wouldn't put the excavator in tier A because it has no jetpack and the strangler armor just looks stupid to me.
Really you can’t go wrong with any PA. Go for the one that looks cool or gives you the best quality of life.
Personally I run Overeaters Hellcat and I love it. But I’m going to start rolling an Overeaters T-60 (Turtle you forgot! 😊), just for the aesthetic. Even though, on paper, the T-60 doesn’t have the best stats or extra effects, it will still keep me alive in any situation.
With the right build T-60, or any other PA set, will make you virtually unkillable.
Overeaters hellcat is my main set too 🦛💪🏼
Now that we can be a somewhat effective unarmed power armor build what power armors are good for unarmed builds because I checked that T-51b deals a lot more damage than Hellcat both with Tesla Bracers

I use t65 torso and legs with hellcat arms and helmet. Gives you the benifits from high damage resist plus 6% or up to 10% if you only keep the t65 torso
Excavator is S+ tier with calibrated shocks if you don't have fallout first because of the ridiculous stash weight limit
I use the Ultracite PA as I have a legacy PA piece with a jetpack mod for one of the arms.
That is the real s-tier power armor
T-65 Overeaters set is my preferance. gives a solid mitigation % and has highest base stats. Use funky duds for poison resist. Never have to worry about poison unless I stand in it.
Was excited about using power armor and a pepper shaker for about a month in the test server then they inexplicably took uny off PA and explosions off pepper shaker, haven’t thought about using either since.
Hey turtle, I have a question about excavator. I wonder if you have tested this or if you can think of a way to test test when using excavator and radiation rumble do you get more or because it doesn’t tell you the number like it does when you’re mining or regularly, so do you get four instead of one each time you grab it or off the wall and do you fill up the arm or reserves faster to move the event along? Do you know or can you think of a way to test us? I tried using excavator during the event and I can’t really tell.
The only one you didn't mention is the one I will use on my third character: T 60. I will roll a full assassin's set as it will be a fully explosive build and done I will have a build. :)
what about T-60? I did not see it in the video. Would it be Tier B like T-45 and T-51?
Yeah the top of b-tier, just under the Ultracite. Solid resistances but no fancy bonuses
T65 is not worth for 6900 bullion. I recommend that you rather grind for Union PA with total 720 stamps (they nerf it), 1000 stamps including jetpacks. With Atlantic city update "Tax Evasion". I could spend like 2 - 4 days for getting the whole union parts because it does give you 15 stamps per match.
Yeah, I pretty much put all the power armor with set bonuses in Astier. They all have a function if you want their carry weight then it’s a excavator if you want die mining if excavator if you want damage reduction it’s hellcat if you want to poison resist it’s union, if you want your helmet not to get scrapped every time you’re in a hurry, then you wanna strangle her heart. The other thing strangler hurt does really well is Agro everything inside your AOE will come running at you pissed off if it if it’s that type of critter, and if you just run through an area, you will wake up ghouls everywhere. Rick walker does this too, but on a much more limited scale, but they are weeds. Much smaller for plague Walker but if you’re not in power armor, yeah no play walkers an option. It also will wait things up but it won’t. For instance, wake up the whole club I was just by running in the front door moving around.
Lately I've been wearing stock excavator power armour instead of my usual deep pocketed combat armour set. It weighs so much less and doubles the full set carry weight bonus. Only thing is since (I think) my only equipped power armour related regular perk card is the one where power armour parts break 60% slower I have to go nude most of the time. The core drainage is real if you don't encounter energy damage for a while.
Bethesda should rephrase "damage resistance" into "armor rating". Its very easy for newer players to get mixed up with actual resistances as it is, lol.
My main character I've run uses excavator just because I like the carry weight and its more than tanky enough for any situation at my lvl. Only downside is no jetpack option. 2nd option I use is the hellcat.
You’re definitely not wrong that no jet pack option is a minus, but Marsupial mutation with Strange In Numbers Perk usually does the job for me 95% of the time.
I play Junkie with full health and low health (depends on how many stims i have on me :D ) and my daily driver for Full HP is T-65 with tesla chest and for low-life i play Strangler heart with emergency Protocolls.. both sets are full weapon weight reduction because i carry almost every heavy weapon with me haha.. i missed the season with the union PA, so i´m still grinding for that.. but union with full weapon weight reduction will be my main PA
With my PA sets and perk´s i can do every boss in the game solo with ease.. so yeah.. being a PA user is great. i almost never die haha.. and the junkie-bloodied mix does very good damage. Earl solo in about 7-8 minutes, same for queen and the rat.. all bosses with JunkieFFR GatlingPlasma (ultracite cores). only chem i use for the bosses is psychobuff. no need of anything else
Been playing this game since launch and have only ever used excavator PA. Its hard to die with 3000 stims.

Union PA is pain to get Bethesda should change stamps to gold bullion vendor or at least get stamps from a specific event

I'm not sure if it was supposed to happen or not, but I deployed a completely bare power armor frame when doing the quest for the Excavator set and it had a full set of Ultracite already equipped, despite me only being level 30 and not too far in the original main quest.
there is a bos quest that gives you full set
i have a hellcat overeaters with all with ammo weight reduction, carry weight is not an issue for me its when i get out of the power armor that sometimes i cant move lol.
FYI I’ve found raider power armor pieces as low as level 10!
It's fun to give a level 10 player a full set of level 10 raider power armor and few cores. Somebody make my day with that once.
Oh, man! I absolutely hate Armor-Piercing Daily Ops mutations even more than Cloaked or Reflective Skin. What’s even the point of using PA if you’ll get downed with one, two, or three shots, regardless? To hear my new Hellcat armor will mitigate at least some of that is ridiculously helpful.

I have not done anything to get stamps for union, but I did make a sad and started dye making it legendary but I just I keep trying to switch a way to hellcat or even the excavator for the benefits they provide, but I can’t get away from the fact that I keep wanting to scrap my helmet, so I keep going back to strangler heart
I have Excavator and Hellcat PA's, and now it's time to take Union PA :D Looks awesome and gives bonuses what I want

If you start an expedition team, it generally fills up quickly. Once the stupid boring quest requirement is gone, you'll see many more.
I hope you've been saving your stamps. In the next update the cost for all the union pieces are discounted to between half and 1/3rd the cost they are now
This is a problem for me also. I usually have to be the one hosting the expedition and even then it takes up to a half hour to get even 1 person to join. Most of the time its just me and one other that do the whole run
@@baconation2637 Yeah I haven't spent many stamps but I don't think I have that many either. I just have been joining expeditions as I have seen them. They're fun but the quests to get there are a barrier I don't cross often.
You can do it four times in a row too if everyone has their battery full
I tested the strangleheart PA - stood next to the cockroach for 10 minutes. His HP hasn't even decreased.😢
I only wear power armor that looks cool. The stats are merely a bonus for me.
And the armor I wear occasionally is Hellcat, Ultracite, and T65.
same - only use this 3 sets... - and for mining if needed the excavator power armor...
Also turtle, even though it’s not listed anywhere, as I’m sure you’re well aware when you jump in a set of power armor, your AP use is better if anything prove that some more that well, nothing proved us more than the recent state of automatic weapons like the shredder in the chalk chainsaw, home and auto wax out of power armor navy uses atrocious, but when you jump in power armor, you get about three times as much use out of them before you have to stop and recharge a P
I found something interesting Turtle with the new update. The PA does not longer say Acid Damage but Poison Damage instead. And I think they tweaked the value but I don't know for certain as I never crafted it since I am a T65 user. Can it be confirmed? Will it better now in your ranking?
Best power armour is t 50 set. For one simple reason it can be painted to a nuka cola set! 😊

Hi Turtle. I'm sorry you don't say "Excavaytchor" any more. I even renamed my set with your pronunciation. I always have carry weight problems, so my go to is still the Excavaytchor! It's plenty tanky with Funky Duds, and yes, I have a legit jetpack torso.

Issue for me is that I'm so reliant on backpacks and weight reducing prefixes I'm not really able to use any power armour other than the excavator
I hate untradable gear, so I stick with Ultracite and Excavator. I want to be able to trade my gear with others/change builds easily/etc.
Turn light, I could swear that it was only ranged ballistic damage not mainly ballistic damage. Can you confirm that it works against all kinds of ballistic damage
Hellcat with emergency protocols and a jetpack on the helmet for me.
Because of all the perk cards, food/drink, chem, and legendary effects/buffs that help you with health, damage resistance, and most importantly damage dodging or whatever you can really choose whatever you think is the nicest or whatever one you like the most. For me i use excavator for the 100 carry weight boost. Also if you hate power armours because they’re clunky and because of that slow ass landing animation GET BIRD BONES it makes power armour actually enjoyable and not annoying

Excavator, the box truck of power armors. Working on collecting legendary hellcat pieces and hoping the stamp reduction of union happens. Recently just started yeeting stuff in my stash so I am not one SBQ/Earl fight away from being over encumbered.

Some will put the strangler heart PA in S tier, because of the poison dmg and the best PA for pvp. The rest is about right.
I feel union is the best Pa in game but I’m rocking the t-51b purely because I love the nuka cola skin for it.
There’s another hidden affect also turtle when you’re in power armor your AP usage goes down even without any kind of perks trades are or mods. Your AP use goes down take a bench made set of power in with no legendary affects run. Your chainsaw, count the seconds that it runs, then jump in your power armor and do it again, power armor of any sort and I don’t. I’ve never tested to see if it’s the chassis or the pieces but when you’re in a full suit of power armor, I guarantee you your AP use is less, in addition, to the other hidden traits, the radiation reduction the damage reduction, the general tankiness
Power armor drains your fusion core when using vats. If u don't have a full charge fusion core it will be depleted faster.
Thanks turtle for explaining the line "there is no useless power armor". For me it comes down to esthetic that is the raider power armour. I really like the looks. Tired of some people saying "throw away raider power armour.
I have t65 overeaters bloody build and it’s the best thing I’ve ever had only things I die to is imposter and poison only because gattling plasma doesn’t give you immediate healing because of spinning barrel, I almost have a full set of hellcat overeat, I can’t get union atm wasn’t here for the scoreboard. Thank you turtle for clearing up why you don’t like t65 it just doesn’t have any added bonuses like union

I currently have Union and a custom hybrid of T-51 and Hellcat limbs. It’s got very comparable defenses to my Union but has a lot of extras.
I use power armor with a balance on look and usability. Heres my list (of ones that ive used). () = looks. [] = Usability.
1. T65 PA (by far the best looking power armor imo, it manages to be a hulking brute while also being clean and sleek looking. The thick layered pauldrons, uniquely shaped helmet and flat front chestplate are my favorite aspects) [while this doesnt have any spectial effects apart from its overwhelming stats, its asthetics are enough for me to use it more than any other PA]
2. Hellcat PA (the second best looking one imo, whe im in it i feel like im wearing an m1 abrams. It has a shroud like the X0-1 but it looks more rigid and robust. The breating tubes on the helmet gives a tactical vibe and the helmet in it of itself looks like it could take a tank round) [The damage resistance is really useful and honestly i really want a similar bonus for thw T-65, maybe like melee resistance or energy resistance?]
3. Union PA (in my opinion this power armor really doent do it for me. It looks like a rusty tin can. I get what theyre going for, but it tries too hard to look menacing with the sharp edges. But then the helmet looks like a toy helmet.) [ I cannot deny the power of the PA, poison resistance is really great to have and the carry weight is a bonus on top]
4. Excavator PA (this set holds a special place in my heart, it was the first power armor i completed and man was it a power trip to use this bad boy, they nailed the asthetics of it being a mining set. The neon yellow parts and flood lamps really insinuate that it was meant to be used in dark areas) [statistically probably the best super early game "
Does T60 just not exist in youtubers games? Because I keep trying to find a comparison between that and rhe X01 and no one ever mentions it
They need to re-add union power armor back into the game. As a player who recently picked the game back up again keep hearing it is good but its not available so I am using excavator for the carry weight instead with funky duds legendary perk at 2*.
I personally just like xo1 just cause the glowing eyes are cool but I think the ultracite power armor should get a buff and a unique power armor effect with all the pieces equipped especially with how hard the mod plans are to get

Unfortunately my daily used power armor is excavator because of the weapons/ ammo that I carry around daily
End it easily get you over the threshold of the diminishing returns on resistances. There’s literally no power armor that’s better than another based on resistance is even that 800 resist you can accomplish in strangler heart for radiation will not help you against radiation if you did not have the 90% radiation reduction, I mean when I do radiation rumble, I can still only go through channel of the arm tunnels Maximo might do it after everyone but I could maybe go through two without removing my radiation and dying even with R800 resist accomplished with the legendary first card, white rats and the strangler heart, radiation, resistant radiation resistance, or any resistance is really don’t mean anything past about 300 or 350 so every power armor is good for that Well like turtle says if they don’t bring anything else to the table, so power armor set bonuses in my opinion are all last year if they provide a set bonus, then they’re S tier

X01 & Hellcat - both OE/Vanguard/+a few pieces with less explosion damage. I think I'm going to retire the exit one for the union. I have a full set sitting on the side but I don't use it because the mods are too expensive still.
My fave is when I get a good spawn with weapon weight reduction lol
You get an entire set of lvl15 raider armor after finishing quests at the top of the world. This reward does not scale with level as I was told. At my lvl 60 it was still lvl15 pa parts
I haven't switched my main guy from T65 to the Union. I should but haven't.
I tried, on an alt, to use Hellcat and my test made me go back to the Union he was wearing. It didn't provide enough protection to defend against my test target, the Sheepsquatch Assaultron. It basically deleted me instantly where in T65 I could stand toe to toe with a vampiric Gatling Plasma. Yet instantly taken out when in Hellcat. I don't even think he slowed down.
From what I recall it’s laser is energy so it’s special affect wouldn’t help, if you have that legendary perk which absorbes energy for to charge your fusion cores maybe

I never had issue with poison or fire late game in my T65 3* armor. and 12% ballistic damage mit doesn't matter when you're not taking damage to begin with.
Can you do a segment of mix matched power armor? for newbies grinding from lvl 1 :D

I carry an overeaters set of excavator armor with a jet pack as my daily PA. I don’t have a PA build but it works great for when I need rad protection or for mining.
Excavator cannot use jet packs.
That's why it has higher carry weight.

I personally would’ve put all the power armor that has set bonuses in Estera because they all have their place union. Do you let you carry more and protect you from poison hellcat gives you more ballistic car damage medication on top of you already have strangler heart you don’t scrap your helmet, your Agro everything which for some is a good daily driver if you’re you know farming especially in an excavator you you cannot argue with four times a day or or 100 X for Carey weight and it doesn’t matter what the resistance is on any of them are for daily play gameplay it’s making very little difference if their T 65 levels or excavator levels I wanna place 245 and raider in the eighth here because those can be got now and level 10. All the rest would’ve been in 08 here I mean meteor, including T 65 it’s outrageously expensive to make it doesn’t bring anything to the table except exceedingly high resistance is that aren’t really adding anything to the equation I mean diminishing returns started around 300 I can run around without armor on at about 300
