I always thought the Atom Cats were a cool concept. A bunch of greasers that treat power armor like a hot rod or a motorcycle.
Heh. I would use the Starlight drive-in theater as a place to store all my power armor. Have them all lined up like a bunch of parked cars.
honestly it feels realistic, we've seen old world culture emulated before with the Kings so the idea of hot rod culture but for power armor feels like a realistic potential group.

guess thats also because fallout 4's and 76's engine doesn't play well with cars so the devs basically made the power armor like a car

Fallout 2 had that in Reno.

Makes sense. The Navy base on the island isn't exactly a secret and you can find a few suits here and there. Surprised nobody's snagged the Vim! ones yet in universe, honestly.
@@RedShocktrooperRSTIf I'm remembering correctly, there's only two Vim power armor sets that generate on their own, the rest you have to craft yourself. One is inside the Vim factory, meaning it's surrounded by super mutants, so it makes sense why that one hasn't been scavenged yet. The other one though is just sitting in a truck in the middle of the road, fusion core and all, so yeah not too clear on how that one's still there.
@@ClonedGamer001 The factory wasn't always occupied by Super Mutants, plenty of time before they showed up for some Vim! factory guy to snag it.
@@RedShocktrooperRST Well true, but apparently they've been there for a while, and it's possible something else was living there before that was problematic for regular humans but easily dealt with by super mutants (like ferals or something). I also don't think that one has a fusion core in it by default if memory serves, so that might have something to do with it.

Funnily enough the Advanced Power Armor allows you pee while wearing it and has a filter that converts it into water that can be redrunk.
Can't wait for the update that makes the user solar powered. Been waiting 200+ years

That's so cool that they thought about what would happen if you rescued Preston while already wearing PA
If you do it right you can get the power armor on the roof without going through the building, just do some parkour from the church I believe and you can grab it, you do need to get a fusion core before but that's not difficult. I did that without realizing I could on my second playthrough.
@@trashman2110 Under the Red Rocket in the irradiated cave with radroaches you can find a fusion core. Another one is in the robot recycling at the north edge of the map between Olivia and Sanctuary. That's also a spot where you can find another set of power armor (t-45) at the crashed vertibird. Both are really easy to grab even at low level.
I think there’s dialogue if you holding a minigun too but I’ve not tried in a while so I’m not 100% sure
There's also a set of power armor near a crashed vertibird near red rocket as well.
@@ArtyKibbles2190 If you have a minigun in your inventory you can mention it to them. It has to specifically be a minigun, however. Which is a bit of a sham given how crap the minigun's scaling is.

despite all the games faults, fallout 4 did the power armor honest. Much cooler than it just being a tough armor piece like in NV of fallout 3.

Not to mention you don't have to throw away or store your main outfit just to wear power armor.
I just dislike how quickly the armor runs out of juice. Also the ingredients to repair the higher end power armors are annoying.
I do like the concept of power armor durability for balance and immersion, so you can maintenance your armor. But damn I wish it only costed steel to repair.

You can extend fusion core duration with the nuclear physicist perk. Although, that requires your character to have 9 points in intelligence.
And I'm assuming why stronger power armors are more expensive to repair is for balance reasons or to give other power armors a chance to shine.

I just got the new X-02 armor and was so happy about it, and I started dying of laughter when the diamond security guard said "Hol. lee. shit. now that's some power armor." I felt like a badass lol

I love what they did with power armor in fallout 4 but I wish they made you earn it.
There are some that make you earn it; like the X-01 power armor, since it's the strongest power armor in Fallout 4. I guess the others are easier to obtain because they're not as strong as the X-01.
In new vegas you had to complete several quests to get power armor, it felt so good. If they did the same thing in fo4 it would be the most orgasmic thing in the world
@@birdiementlegen226I got a full set at lvl 37 by having nick unlock a door for me. After shelf xp farming and 14 intelligence I got to lvl 37 in around 10 hours. Not earned at all
@@birdiementlegen226even once you have x-01 the other variants have their niches. T 51 is the easiest to repair so if you are gonna do a lot of traveling but not go anywhere especially troublesome it’s nice to have armor you can repair with the trash you find along the way. Most of the legendary armor pieces are t 60 so for special bonuses that’s the go to and X-01 is the raw stats option
I mean it does make sense though not needing training considering Nate was in the us military

One thing i noticed is that if you give a companion a power armor without fusion cores, they still run, tho don't give armor parts as they will break from damage but for Danse, you can give him a helmet and it does not take damage.

Its funny because in the prydwen you can see somewhere a iniate and a knight testing power armor where the knight is in power and the iniate is shooting its chest with a lazer pistol

Fun fact: if you save the minutemen in power armor and with a minigun in your hands, sturges will have more unique dialogue

i remember back in 2016 when i was moving all my suits on my settlement to my garage in sanctuary Strong went from "you are now new leader" to "human weak asf"

I'm an oldfart who remembers when FO3 was BRAND NEW, no DLC's at all...and this was one of the biggest flaws.

One of my settlers took my power armor when Raiders attacked up. I later set him up as a supply line - thinking he'd leave the armor. I found him traveling, still wearing it.

Fr. People give Preston way to much hate. He has some of the best lines. Like his laugh at the end of that treasure hunting quest

5 second's later power armor is heavily damaged 3 limbs are missing the helmet and chest are flashing red and you barely managed to beat the 1 raider with a 10mm that did this
I gave a power armour set to curie once. 20 seconds after she got it, she engaged a nuka mirelurk. 2 seconds after that, the leg pieces were gone. What in the actual fuck ?

I just gave Nora a Set to take on the Gunners and the Courser at "Hunter/Hunted", but her's got mostly destroyed while mine recieved minor damage.

I can’t tell what’s funnier, Cait’s can opener dialogue or the raider “You’ll run out of batteries sooner or later!” dialogue.
Funny note: if you're strong enough, that doesn't matter. In another game some NCR troopers used suits with the servos stripped out because the Republic couldn't maintain them. "It feels like you're wearing a Brahmin, but it provides great protection".

the power armor also helps with willpower and that is because I get very angry after smelling my own piss for three hours straight in a big sweaty tin can.
Diamond city security are some of the chillest dudes in the game and I mad respect em.
I love how you can gain affinity with Danse just by wearing power armor lol
Walking around with Danse with both of you towering over everyone with power armour will never not be hilarious
Nuclear Physicist perk is OP. I duped like 200,000 fusion cores. Fusion core ejection has NO COOLDOWN. So I just walk into an area with enemies drop about a dozen and leave like a badass.
Paladin danse is one of the best companions, change my mind
easiest to get a good friendship going aswell, do bos quests and he'll like it, climb into power armor and he'll like it aswell. you can literally make danse like you by just climbing in and out of armor

love the t-51 and raider power armor just wish it could be upgraded to keep up a little bit with mid game stuff, it just looks so good
Playing arma reforger really changed my outlook on the brotherhood and ncr, it’s really cool being a private and seeing the president of the ncr roll up 4 deep with bos members by his side and him in a nice suit and you’re standing by knowing your ether going to war or we are starting the war.
Edit: might not be canon lore wise yet but it is fun seeing those two groups together. The enclave are also in a alliance with us so our bases have like 3 army’s in them sometimes but rare
I honestly wonder how fallout 5 (whenever that'll be) will handle the power armor. Cuz this feels like the peak for the armor.
Considering how badly they screwed up the series I'd be ok with FO4 being the last.

All of Nick's lines, Piper's 3rd line and Danse's 1st line are my favorites. The raider mentioning batteries and the DC guard ar the very end are very cool too.
I absolutely ADORE the concept of Power armor.
Fallout's is cool, but i will always adore the Iron Man armor and 40k's Space Marine Power Armor
Wolfgang has a reaction too, he reacts if you wear a vaultsuit or powerarmor
side note my personal preference is T-45 helmet with T-60 Chassis X-01 legs and T-51 arms, with either Military Paint or the CC Minutemen Paint(Cavalry chest with Patriot for everything else), about half of it can be looted from Clint in Quincy

If you get in a BOS suit infront of a group of syths(after destroying prydewn) the sythn courser will tell you to be carefull wearing that you might be mistaken for a brotherhood

Dialogues change when u use the X-01 and ur prone to fight anything.
Not kidding, but it doesnt happen having a companion, it happens with the npc's.
Some Lancers of the Bortherhood rarely say u look "familar" (wearing the X-01), this never happens using any other power armor suit.
The vault 81 residents would just say u look scary with the helmet.
And the armored corporal gunners would admit they cant do nothing aganist u in that power armor.

Residents in Far Harbor give some good dialog too. Like they are the only ones who know what it is.
Missed X6-88. He likes the sole survivor getting into power armor, and says things like "Time to bring the pain," or "Feel free to take point while you're in that thing."

This is why starfield will never be as good as fallout 4. There's no power armor(yet).

Lore wise the T-51b has life support and a recycler inside, ye, yes we know already, It's pretty disgusting but it saves your life ok, moving on, the T-45b & T-60 dot have that instead they have either a small septic tank that can be swapped out like ammo mags, while the Enclave & Institute series has the same as the T-51b's
