    Another tip, try your microphone. If you get toxic people, block them or turn off Chat in Settings>Audio. If you are new, and there is a high level in your group, they may likely help you. An even though the loadout isn't great, you can just change it once you see a punch card machine. so it's not even a huge deal. i started at 20 too. played enough fallout games to know the "struggles" of leveling. It's down to personal preference. And anyone that says things like its "distasteful" is just and opinion. Play how you want and don't let others sway you.

    @Kiereze 8 месяцев назад +84

    A big tip I can give from recent experience is to pick the scrounger card in luck. Level it up to max rank and you'll find 80% more ammo on enemies and containers. The ammo you'll find is tied to the gun you're using. So if you need 5mm, kill the enemy with 5mm. I'm a heavy guns power armor build and I mainly use the flamer. Every enemy I kill drops 10-20 fuel, containers sometimes give me as much as 80-100 fuel but usually around 35-65. What I find is I'll leave my base with 200 fuel and after killing a bunch of enemies I end up with 800-1000. I sell the excess for 1 cap per fuel at my base and I still never run out of ammo. Did the same with 5mm before swapping to flamer, ended up with 13,500 5mm rounds lmao

    • @DreamingCyclist
      @DreamingCyclist 8 месяцев назад +1

      The scrounger perk doesn't seem to be necessary if a new player starts with a sniper build. A Sniper build works fine in The Forest and if you're using Sneak hits you'll be swimming in your ammo type; I had about 2,000 45 cal ammo by level 20 of a pipe revolver sniper. You can build an inventory of an ammo type that can be used later for The Fixer, a Combat Rifle, a Lever Action Rifle, and the Submachine gun if/when you change away from a sniper build.

    One thing to note about claiming a workshop is that claiming will turn Pacifist mode off and other players can take you out to take over your workshop. If you're going to just claim and run off with the plans, remember to turn Pacifist Mode back on in your options menu.
    Fast travel to team members is free but there are other locations on the map you can free travel to. Your camp, the Rusty Pick, the Raider, Brotherhood of Steel and Settler main bases, the Whitespring, the Rose Room and Vault 76 can be fast travelled to without spending caps. You can use these free travel locations to cut down on the cap cost to travel to quest locations.

    I agree with doing a fresh dweller as well. Mostly because as you said you need to learn the game. But also, you'll more than likely will also gain more gear, resources, and plans. Because even at level 2 you'll be scrapping stuff and learning mods. On a side note. Old players like me always put stuff in that donation box. Above all other donation boxes. Especially if I hit my daily caps limit with shops. I'll dump all kinds of stuff in that box.
    As for where most players will end up selling, I would bet they go to the saw mill these days and you can sell stuff there. And I would personally tell new players to never buy from the medicine and ammo vending machines. That stuff is overpriced crap. More than likely new players with shops will sell stuff for cheaper. As for death you do technically have a negative when dying. You lose all your buffs and have to put those back on.

    Thanks for sharing, bud. Been playing for about 20 hours now and I'm having a blast. I picked the first aid card at the start because I didn't know sprinting used up AP.
    Had a funny first interaction with a level 1057. I was in a basement at night looking for stuff to scrap and hear this heavy stomping sound coming from upstairs so I hide in a room. He walks down the stairs and opens the door while wearing power armor and a laser minigun so I do the panic emote. He laughed and gave me a shielded vault suit and 100 stimpacks. So I gave him a nuka cherry cola. We gave each other a thumbs up and he went on his way.
    I'm having so much fun with this game and I thought joining groups meant you needed to be around them at all times. Pretty cool you can just do your own thing and teleport to them for free. I was avoiding that cause I thought we had to do quests together or some shit. Just joining a group for the benefits is nice.

    I would also suggest that you save your in game atoms from atom challenges if you do not plan on getting fallout 1st , you can earn enough in game atoms to purchase the season pass in very little time . Just save your atoms from the season after getting the season pass for the next season pass also.

    Great video perfect for myself and my gf to watch just as we get our bearing! We had the pleasure of meeting two seperate high levels and their teammates who gave us plenty of clothes, mats, and even built us little starter bases. I’m sure it’s just as exciting for the og players to see the influx of new players due to the show!

    I’m a big time fallout 4 player and have really struggled with 76 and kind of gave up on it. This video changed my mind 100% I was doing a lot of shit wrong that is new to me. I will say with the exception of one guy who was like I’ve level 100 who killed me and stole my base everyone else I met was so nice and just started giving me all kinds of valuable stuff.

    As a new player, I highly encourage pacifist mode (in the settings). Although there are lots of friendly players in Fallout 76, you do NOT want to get into a firefight with those who are down for PvP at a low level. You will get guaranteed 1-2 shotted since experienced players often have a build set up while you're learning/chose a mid tier preset at level 20.

      I tend to specialize my characters. For ranged characters, I carry 2-3 ranged weapons. For a melee character, I tend to carry 4-5 melee weapons and shotgun for crippling.

    one tip i have is get every special to at least 3 before you make your build. i do this because most perk cards peak at level 3.
    this means that even if my build doesn't use a certain attribute, i can still slot in a maxed perk card for whatever i may need at the time
    it also ensures that you're well off on those fronts. having 1 str means you get weighed down a lot, and 1 int means you level up like a turtle

      Usually you can't go wrong with shotguns or rifles in the beginning with no outside help. And modded pipe weapons can do you well for a long while too. Weight saving perks (Thru hiker, pack rat, travel pharmacy, sturdy frame, etc) you might want to prioritize. Action boy/girl, blocker, inspirational, scrapper, good with salt, green thumb: those are good all around choices for any build. One point wonders like concentrated fire and born survivor are great early, and don't necessarily need to be maxed to get good use out of. Adrenaline rush at 49 and Gun Fu at 50 are also good 1 point perks.
      Ultimately play what you like and try not to pigeon hole yourself too much as far as weapon perks in the beginning. You'll come across a lot of fun weapons to try and swap out.

    Contextual ammo is actually a little more complex than simply matching the weapon you’re currently holding.
    When you attack an enemy, the contextual ammo will typically match the weapon that did the most damage. Take 1 shot at an enemy with a 10mm but then kill the enemy with a shotgun, then switch back to the 10mm before looting the corpse and you’ll more than likely get shotgun ammo, not 10mm ammo.
    However, there is also a chance that the enemy will drop other ammo types at the same time, including 10mm ammo.
    When you loot a box (ammo box, wooden box, tool box, etc), the ammo drops from that box are for whichever weapon you had equipped when you proximity discovered that box.
    For example, if you proximity discover a box while holding the 10mm pistol but you switch to a shotgun before you open the box, the box will more than likely still drop 10mm ammo, not shotgun ammo.
    That means that contextual ammo isn’t based 100% on the weapon you’re holding but instead it’s based on whichever weapon you were holding when you came within the discovery proximity of that box.

    One of my favourite things to do with my mmo brain is assemble suits of t-45 to give to new players. I don’t craft to save on mats so I just game the locations for hours at a time. Feels good to give a new player a suit of armour though

      New player here! Really hope I run into you in game cause I currently have an arm and a leg for my power armor lmao

    • @LouisKing995
      @LouisKing995 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@hankplays7606 Well once you reach level 25 you can do a quest to unlock the ability to craft excavator armour, and if you finish Rose’s (the raider robot) story line it awards you with a suit of raider power armour, those are both good early game options if you don’t have time to farm the the sets t-45 out in the wasteland. And the once you reach level 30 you can try and get yourself a set of t-51b, then level 40 you can try and collect a set of t-60, both of these you’ll just have to try and find out in the wasteland. Once you reach level 50 you can do the first brother hood of steel storylines at Fort Defiance to get a set of Ultracite armor, or you can do the new brother hood storyline to unlock a set of hellcat armour. Both really good end game armours. But I would till you hit level 50 before you do either of the brotherhood story lines so that the rewards it gives you are for max level.
      But also remember you can mix and match sets. You don’t need to have a the same set for the whole frame.
