I’m in love with this game as a “new” player. I played when it launched in 2018 but got bored of it because of the no npcs and bugs. It is legitimately 100 times better and feels like a true fallout game now. Loving every minute of it.

Same boat as you. Played it at launch with a friend and the game was just not it. It was just bland but now that it’s been a few years and with the show popping up I sparked my interest to give 76 another shot and I’m having fun ngl
You know what I hate...I realized I can upgrade my backpack when I hit lvl 47...had the same +5 carry weight backpack since lvl 2.😅

I get that Strong Back is hated but as a Newcomer, it's been a godsend. Having 200+ WT makes inventory management SO much easier and, unfortunately, makes the game mostly enjoyable.

I've found Food & Aid items to be a serious culprit to WT. The amount of, dare I say, useless Food/ Aid I end up w is insane.
It's to a point that I've been throwing them ALL away. It's easier than risking the Rads/ Debuffs.
@@Mikhailnoise it is not that for me, i am having hard time with food becose i afk a lot haha, i need to get up and do some work by the time i come back i need to eat and drink again, as for the rads i just use rad away, i find plendy off that becose off perks, i use a lot off steampacks that why i am trying to fallow a guide now too maby lesser my need for steampacks.
Hoarding ammo was the main culprit for me especially running scrounger. I cleared up about 100 weight storing ammo types I wasn't using

I played this game A LOT a couple years ago.. I had all kinds of rare plans and put my fair share of real money into the game. Unfortunately that was all on Xbox, and have since moved over to pc. Since nothing is transferable.. I have found myself starting over (after debating for days if it was even worth it). This video is the perfect refresher I needed to figure out wtf I want to do this time around, so I can get it together and stop sulking over my old account. I appreciate the video!

look up d2jsp its a trading site for games. you can ether trade item for item or trade items for "fourm gold" and then spend the gold on other items or you can buy the gold. but if you have a ton of great gear and items worth gold people will buy it then you can use that gold to buy itens for your OC character. ppl use it for a few games i did for diablo 2 and i remember seeing fallout 76 posts

The order of the tadpole quest is a ROYAL PAIN in the arse to finish, i did it way back in the day before the people came back and took took a long time to finish.

Do the daily ‘Stings and Things’ from the mr handy at Dolly Sods Campground. You have a daily chance of getting a badge as a reward

And codebreaker is an easy 3rd (potentially requiring 3 lvl ups, but otherwise very very easy)
For the pictures of animals I been doing events and for whatever reason the meat pile on the ground counts the upper side of the camera will tell you what’s in the frame. It’ll be an empty field but honey beast, gulper, moonshine and scorch boss have most of them.
I've just jumped into this game with my wife and your guides are gold for us right now. Definitely going for shotgun build!

There is a max on xp per kill and it's 4k per mob. It's really only an issue during double XP though. TY for the video!
There’s a nice perk where you hit an enemy with a weapon and it has a chance to be partially repaired and when doing wave events you can completely repair some weapons that have higher fire rates

Resource management is key in this game. I played it like older Fallouts and struggled. Once I focused on managing my weight better, it all clicked.
Another great video, you can see how much you're learning as you progress, I have a couple of other tips for you...
Maxed out legendary perk cards give you a ÷5 boost (one for each star, then a bonus for.maxing it) and its worth getting the intelligence maxed out. You're spot on though, the other cards depend on your build and style of play. I personally run S.P.E.I.A.L all maxed out, so I can run more normal cards
Doing the above will allow you to bin Strong Back and get specific carry cards like Travelling Pharmacy, Thru Hiker bandolier etc, which give far better benefits. But for beginners, yeah, Strong Back is good for straight up carry weight. Try looking at doing your scout badges for additional carry weight for your backpack too
Also, your advice for Ammosmith also applies to the Hard Bargain card you had equipped 👍

Yea I played 76 back in the day up to like level 81 and so much has changed. Coming back after 2 years almost feels like a new game.
Somehow termx always post the game I am playing, I played this game for maybe 3 days at release but I think I'll give it another shot.

@@ItzTermx I just started again after having a level 300ish get corrupted or something after the transfer to steam, had to sadly delete it. Not sure how many of my weapons were godly, but it was sad to see them go. Either way, I'm having a blast starting from scratch.

Just got back into the game a week ago so much has changed since I last played back in 2021 wanted to start from completely scratch transferred what I thought was, or could be useful aka scrap and weapons to sale for caps to players from my three characters into this new brand new character I wanna make a pistol build useing Gunthers big iron and this video guide was extremely useful in terms of helping me remember what is what and the perk building can’t thank u enough definitely watching u more! I'm not a beginner. Played on xbox when it first came out and with the series being a hit, people.started playing again. So I started on PC. Glad to know of some of the new stuff that wasn't there originally

flux are pretty easy to get, just involves farm nuked zones and you can nuke them. You can learn mods by just scrapping the same item. For example once you learn to craft ultracite gatling just make 10 of them and scrap them (you can equip the scrap perk for more materiales when scraping). Mods that you get with bullion gold doesnt work if i remember correctly.
For inventory I kept the starter leather armor with pockets till Service Secret Armor with pockets and a tip for materials are not getting larger stacks, just keep 150 to 200 of each unused material in you bank. And you can use another character to save your unused weapons you need help from a friend in order to get your weapons from the other character, less weight perks doesnt work in banks but you'll see numbers getting down till you put them so it's better to carry the items affected by less weight.
Adenaline perk is good but if you do maths, you'll see 1* is enough because you spent more stats for less damage added and for Enforcer it's the same case 1* is enough. There's several damage perks and defensive/survival perks so you'll need stats. And don't scrap animated perks these comes with the 5 cards bundles.
And its good to have new tubers, gl n hf.
I basically maxed charisma for the 15% XP boost for teams, sleep and eat/drink before you leave, and romance your camp companion for another XP boost. Once you get what you want, customize your special skills at any punch card station
Started playing this game again after the show and I've been enjoying it but it's hard for me to find a satisfying play style. Went from gunslinger to commando type build though I'm missing a lot of the perk cards needed for rifles to really shine, so my damage is kinda ass lmao

for starting players also, strength is for melee damage but more importantly it also increases your carry weight which is important because you CAN NOT fast travel if you are over your carry weight allowance, the game calls it "overencumbered". So I recommend max Intelligence and max Strength so you level fastest, and can carry the most.
Also do the Tadpole then Possum missions as soon as possible so you can get the badges and buy a tadpole backpack which gives 60 more carry and then the tadpole high capacity mod for the backpack that doubles your backpack carry weight so now you can carry and additonal 120. Also you can put "deep pocketed" mods on all 4 limb armors and the chest armor for 10 plus carry on each totallying 50 extra carry weight. Each point in strength adds 5 carry weight and some perk cards can reduce items weight so you may want to use the cards that go with your play style like reduce rifles weight if you use rifles.
Very Well Rested is from lunchboxes, open one and you get it for an hour plus another random small benefit

Strong back is a waste over individual item reduction. Also make use of the second build slot to create a alternative build just for crafting/repairing
On top of it - military fatigues or anything of that particular nature (full body under armors) can be worn with single item under armor

Worth adding for the underarmor part. Secret service armor is best for a melee build while raider leathers and harness are best for vats builds.

Before discovering this video i did about 100 runs of the morgan town airport killing all the scorched and server hopping, it was so brain rot but it was fast and i was desperate 💀
I recommend making a crafting selling build where you're automatically overweight. That way you can go to the train stations and sell your stuff and not be able to fast travel out until you fix it. I can't tell you how many times I've gone into battle in my crafting build and wondering why the heck I'm getting curb stomped. Plus you have all your crafting and selling cards in one place and you're not spending a lot of time switching them out.
I just found out about the order of the tadpole(L75) lol. Im so pissed i didnt know about it before. There is so much stuff in f076. Its almost over whelming. But in a good way.
for low level players also, if you hit an enemy once you get the XP from when it dies and the loot from it, so if you are surrounded by high level players, try to shot each enemy at least once so you get all the xp and loot when the other players kill all the enemies.
As a new player I have come to realize that every guide to everything to do with FO 76 boils down to "run west tek". Here I am being a noob having fun exploring the game and any time I wanna look up how to do something hoping it will lead me to something new and fun, NOPE its just always west tek. Havent even been there yet and already bloody tired of running west tek lol.
The issue is that NOTHING else in the game constitutes an xp farm better than Westek. If you're a noob exploring the game - do the story, do the side quests. Running Westek is for people 100+ looking for more packs, etc

I bought an extra perk load out slot to just have a camp build. Extra building stuff, less cost, chance to double craft, the list goes on. That would be a pain to swap.
Chem fiend is a better way to replace life-giver (take psychobuff etc that increases max HP) and Strong Back should be weened off of by level 50 and scrapped- only 2 mandatory weight perks are Batteries Included and Traveling Pharmacy

Also a note as a new player, its ideal to decide what sort of weapon you want, IE, semi auto rifles or full auto rifles, its very important to know.

I was wondering why I see so many players running with full rads 😅 but will definitely look for those cards now and when I get a higher level I have it. I think I've just hit 30 which is super low but the best thing about this is that you can team up but not have to be a team. I can go at my own pace and play at my own pace and do what I want when I chose to do it. Stuck on a quest change it do something else and go back quest getting stale scrap junk and sort your base. I definitely am guilty of slapping floor and walls down and running out of stuff and being left with a mess I call camp hahaha
I wouldn’t worry about low health builds till you’re 50+. Even then you’d want a full set of unyielding (+3 special low health) armor or if you do power armor, the emergency protocol mod for your chest piece power armor of choice.
You get the small backpack for free now, it’s at the little crafting camp across from the Wayward.

I uh... kept buying legendaries from the Purveyor as a returning player. I didn't know you can craft them now. Welp... that's 900 scrips down the drain for something I could've tried to make myself with more control over the process.
What I do for levels is get well rested and pop some lunchboxes while In a event team and just run every event get close to 2 levels around level 150
The new player experience is better than the old player experience. I did all the original game content when the game came out, then hopped off. I had the misfortune of going for an explosives build, and it bit me on the ass because they nerfed it to oblivion 😢
So mid leveling in the base game, before you could swap special at will, I was spending all my levels reconstituting my special points, and so even tho I’m nearly 200, I only own about half the perk cards. Blows new players away when I tell them how bad the leveling system used to be 😂

It's double the capacity of the small backpack (so at 50 is 60, rather than 30 carry weight)

Adding 40lbs of capacity does nothing when your chems/ammo/food/weapons/armor all weigh the same. Take the weight reduction perks: Bandolier , Batteries Included, Bear Arms, Pack Rat (for scavers), Thru-hiker, Traveling Pharmacy, etc etc. Reducing the weight of your items will save you more space than the extra 40 will give you. Ultimately stacking Strong Back WITH weight reducers would be optimal but doesn't quite pan out for certain builds.
Bandolier should be on just about EVERY build because ammo weight adds up FAST. I run a specific card set for General Purpose and Scaving, and the weight reduction does more than the extra 40lb capacity ever could. Weightless rolls also help a ton. Also for non-PA users, pocket mod for armor if you want more space. across 5 pieces you end up with more than the perk can give you, or go for the Ultra-Light Mod to save a few pounds per piece.
For you specifically, Scattershot stacked with a weightless roll - making your weapon literally weightless and reload up to 30%faster = big win. Add in Bandolier- even more saving. ((i.e. - a stack of shotgun shells weighing 5lbs, reduced by 90% now weighs .5 lbs. You just saved more that 10% of the capacity gain from Strong Back. Do that with everything and boom you are running LIGHT))

You have to unlock the mods through doing events or buying from other players. It takes a while but it's worth it

One thing I want to mention about mutations is that that people will oftentimes sell them for VERY CHEAP. A great starter one is Speed Demon, which people sell typically for 50 caps.

If you go to the dark part of the map and kill the mole miners they drop a bunch of shotguns, get one of those and start rolling legendary perks on it.

What about the perks that allow you to hack and lockpick level 3s?
INT also makes crafted items have more durability. Even when crafting legendaries.
Use every INT chem and good and drink and all unyeilding and int gear possible. It makes a huge diff.
*dropped items Luck effects durability. Why a different stat for drops? Who knows... It just works.
I’m having trouble with a certain mission For rose. You have to shoot a bear with the syringe but it’s just not updating. Shot about 50 into the beast and nothing happens.
tip for allocating perk cards that you need situationally:
you get a free second build in the card slot machines, use this second build to put on your barter perks and crafting and such!
A camp build is always nice....until you forget to swap back and go to the jamboree and wonder why you hit like a raindrop

So question I got my Perception to 15 but I need the skill cards that are in that stat can do I have to just rely on perk packs? Idk so I been going to the punch card special thing to relocate a point down in that stat to then lvl up to pick a card from that stat or should I just wait for perk packs for what I need? I’m just confused on if I fucked myself cause I picked a few useless perk cards not knowing what I was doing at first
You get to choose a perk card every level after 50. You get a perk pack every five levels after 50. You're good, just keep leveling.
a ledgendary stat perk card give 5 points at max not 4 points
1st point is free once you unlock that card
2nd point cost 50 perk points
3rd 100
4 and 5th point cost 150 and you get both at once
Last I saw the SPECIAL legendary cards have +5 for their 4 star rank, not 4, so it goes 1,2,3,5
Regarding under armor: where do you get ballistic fiber. I’m level 26 and I haven’t found a single piece of it
You'll be looking for ammobags or military duct tape, theres a few in the army boot camp south of sutton station
I don't use under armor because it weighs and my weight is constantly teetering in the balance
