BL1 may have started it all but it sure has a lot that could be greatly improved upon, 1. It has the worst fast travel going, 2. The skill trees of each VH are downright limited
So as PC player... I didn't main Mordecai. I main Lilith, Daze effect is so underrated, makes game easy. Phasewalk can be used as Attack or as emergency Escape. But be honest, people play Lilth for Mercenary&Specter builds mostly. Brick, melee Build is fun, but it can't clear all content. Launcher is fine, maybe it would be better if they didn't cut Grenade Launchers. But I must say, if you learn prober Niddhog Sweet spot Brick bulldoze almost everything. In the end Brick mains will do 9/5 Revenge builds. Roland, support gunner/heavy gunner for those who wanna use all the weapon types. I would say je is best for collectors who like to test guns. And last, Mordecai, his lethal strike melee Build is damn OP. Gunsliger can make use of Repeaters, Machine pistols and Revolvers, which Are probably the best weapon Class with Mashers & hidden +100% Crit. Bloodwing can become homing transfusion nade with cooldown. Snipers? Well they are fun, but the pistols work better on him.
Boring? You obviously never played as Eridian sniper Brick with maxed proficiency & deadly aim, & the berserker fists giving you a sweet health regen whenever you get into a jam

Embarrassingly enough, i was a Lillith main for all the stated reasons. However, once i learned her awesome power she became run & gun Uber commando female Brick... until health drops them she became Sir Robin: RUN AWAY! Turn invisible, run, recharge shield, regain health, return to Chaos Mode! 🤦🏼

I'm a Mordecai main and shall always be. Playing Mordecai has even affected how I play Borderlands in general, no matter which one of the games I'm playing. I've always got at least a few sniper rifles with me and I prefer to keep my distance and pick off my targets one by one. Who needs to play with friends when I've got my sniper rifles and my bird? Or, as far as BL2 goes, my sniper rifles and my turret wreaking havoc on the field. Of course I use other guns too, everything except rocket launchers, but there is nothing more satisfying than a good headshot. Or in BL2, shooting off a Goliath's helmet (or helmets whenever there's multiple Goliaths in the same place), retreating to a good vantage point and watching them go to town taking out all the other enemies. Speaking of Mordecai and BL2, I ALWAYS hold onto the guns you get from him as mission rewards. Those are pretty much the only guns I never sell. Them, and the Scorpio assault rifle. Borderlands 3, while I still embrace my inner sniper, tends to be the game where I spend most of the time in everyone's face instead of staying farther away.

Brick is my main in BL1. Yeah, I love charging at people and beasts while shrugging off bullets like nothing and punch everyone in the face repeatedly until they die while screaming like an absolute madman. There is something so wild and amazing in becoming indestructible unstoppable berserker.

Lilith, Maya, Nisha, Mose. All my first play through characters and still when I replay the games I often pick them. I prefer customisation when it comes to female characters yes but I also am genially good at picking my kind of play style without needing to play test each character and even after playing all the characters in borderlands I can definitively say they are my favourite characters in their respective games. (Gaige coming in close second in BL2 but she wasn’t out when I first played the game)
