Thanks for this. On my way to get more gold bullion 😅. Finished the heist yesterday and shared with Paige, as I want to help the Settlers. Didn't spend any yet as I was overwhelmed by the choice I got, but this will help for sure. Gonna need a lot for my Secret Service Armor dream to come true. My Chinese Stealth Armor I got from the mission will have to help me a bit more 🙈.
Plasma caster is worth it from an ammo efficiency standpoint. I'm a heavy guns build and have a caster with instigating, it one shots pretty much all regular mobs and is very accurate.

@@Bobalazs there’s Grindy and then there’s BS this games grind is BS it’s not fun it’s purposely put there to time gate rewards so people log in every day that’s not grind if it was a legitimate grind done right no life players would be able to knock it out in a few days or a week but this game time gates artificially so it takes months

The plasma caster is fantastic, if you compare it to the Gatling Gun, which is its real ballistic counterpart. It works well for long-range combat, as well as enemies you don't feel like wasting your other ammo on.
New to the game and I've doing research and this is by far the best video out there explaining things for noobs like me. It's concise and well put together. And thank you for not having a weird European accent.

You convinced me NOT to get the plasma caster and the pistol, actually, so thanks a TON for that. Looks like I’ll be getting the SS armor and the minigun (when I Max out the reputation requirement).
I main heavy weapons and i think the plasma caster is fantastic. its ammo economy is great, whenever i need a boost in ammo i just do 1-2 runs of daily ops and ill leave with like 200 more rounds than when i started, and it deals enough damage to 1-2 shot most enemies with headshots (especially with a bloodied build). I switch to either my gauss minigun or ultracite gatling laser for boss fights/events but for general gameplay and clearing out trash, the plasma caster is awesome
Totally agree, gauss minigun is fine but generally seems on par with other heavy energy weapons. I find myself not bothering with 2mm ammo when it's so easy to make ultracite cores. It's not worth the rep grind or even the gold. Plasma caster, on the other hand, fills a unique role for heavies, with no rep grind and a reasonable price.
I have to thank you for this video, at first I fell in love with the secret service armor, but I foolishly bought the T-65 power armor chest, at first I thought I made a big mistake, but then after seeing your video I feel more comfortable wanting to go for the power armor, so my focus is no longer in the secret service armor but in the t-65 power armor, the only thing I wished is that they made red vipers paints for the power armors in the season "Ace power" since I prefer red more than blue... other than that I'm grinding for that T-65.

I grinded for SS PA and maxed out the settlers and raiders. My friend convinced me to grind for the regular SS armor for the jetpack. Safe to say I'm burnt out with all this grinding. The new season pass didnt help. But I this video is very informative. Think my favorite is the Gauss Shotgun, Plasma Caster and the SS jetpack mod.
My favorite stuff so far is the Strangler Heart Power Armor, The SS armor, The Gauss Minigun, Gauss Shotgun, Plasma Caster, the Armco ammo machine, Turbo Fert Fertilizer, and the Chinese Stealth Suit.
I really wish Bethesda added more ways to get gold bullion and increased the daily limit for gold bullion to 500. It's going to take me over a month and a half to get a full set of T-65 with the mods I need, and that's if I play everyday grinding out the 2 faction dailies and events, which is just completely ridiculous, I know it's end game content but surely. 🙃
Up until the other night, I didn't even know Gold Boullion existed, let alone how to use it or what to use my treasury notes on. This definitely helped me figure out what I was missing o.O
Just one thing in terms of armor from Regs. Thorn armor is a consideration for stealth builds, since it gives you the best stealth buff along with great resistances. Only other armor that is comparable is the chinese stealth suit, and that is only better in high rad areas (nuke areas).
A long video, but very worth the watch. It could potentially be broken down into “Armor worth gold bullion” etc with new intros, but I did appreciate having it all in one place. I already knew the T-65 was worth it, didn’t realize the secret service armor was also top-tier. Will definitely be basing my shopping list on this video. Much appreciated!
Just a bloodied plasma caster with a bloody heavy build can regularly hit 400 ballistic and 400 energy damage it's fun for vats great for crowd control

Plasma cluster vs guass minigun has to do with perks. If you have an instigating plasma caster,it is powerful. I did 1346 damage without drugs and this ain't bloodied. Now the rest,guass minigun is average at everything else but it all comes down to the legendary modification and how it couwoperats with the fire rate of the gun. And rifle if you do get an instigating plasma cluster try it.
Grinding out my full set of unyielding secret service armor was a pain, but now my commando character is a destroyer of worlds. I though legacy weapons just meant weapons you can't get with certain prefixes because I have an double explosive harpoon gun, neither of which are now available on a harpoon gun drop. Double is weak and was replaced by quad so that's not actually any advantage but an explosive harpoon gun with the flechette modification is a big explosive shotgun that you never run out of ammo for because you get more than one harpoon back when you loot the body.

Yeah, and in the comparison he wasn’t really fair, having Gauss Minigun with Prime capacitor and Plasma Caster with Standard one. But I’d only use Plasma Caster with VATS, its hatbox is wonky AF.
Power armor stats is not as significant a point of interest. Better stats are better, but they are not a lot better. The difference between the best and worst power armor is much smaller compared to normal armor, it does not make as significant difference as the numbers look like. The 42% natural damage reduction does the lion's share of the work, the dr is pretty meaningless in comparison Using the single hardest hitting attack in the game, a glowing super mutant behemoth's 250 damage melee hit. A level 15 raider pa with it's 160 resistance will reduce the damage to ~70 A level 45 raider with 341 resistance will get you to ~50 A maxed out T-65 with it's meaty 565 will reduce it to ~45 That is against the attack where having the most armor makes the biggest difference, against all smaller attacks the effects are reduced significantly. For a 100 damage hit (max level scorchbeasts do 95) the difference for the 3 armors breaks down to 20, 15, 13. And any shared perks, buffs, or damage resistances reduce the effects even more. So yes the armor has better stats, and does make an improvement over other things, but the difference is not so significant because the biggest factors in making you tanky in power armor are shared by all armor types, and make the differences that exist only a secondary factor. If you take the blocker perk, which is one of the best for defense, you make it almost irrelevant what power armor you wear because there is almost 75% of the melee damage removed before the armor even factors, and when calculated out the diminishing returns hit more than twice as severe for the higher tier armors. It's better than the others, but the difference between any other good set like ultracite or t-51 is not so big as to make a huge difference. And even the humble level 15 raider armor that is the first power armor you can get your hands on makes it so you can take on the toughest enemies and shrug off over 3/4 of their damage. In order to make the resistance stats meaningful would take literal factor of ten stats.(so like 5k+) Edit, Also things like emergency protocols also diminish the value of stats dramatically.
What perk load out did you have to get to 2000+ damage with the Gauss Shotgun? Mine currently has a damage of 650. I use a lot of heavy guns, so I run a lot if those cards, but I’m interested to see what you were using and try to work them in.
@@IloveJellow I’d agree with everything except the Two Shot part. Two Shot doesn’t double the damage, it divides it between the projectiles. So with a Shotgun, it would divide it between the 16 projectiles. There is a slight percentage increase for each projectile, I just do remember how much.
Lots of good info in this video. I'm not nearly as invested in this game as you are but I have recently found myself with alot more time on my hands. I will be checking out other how to videos and logging more hours in the future. Currently only lvl 109 with 400ish hours.
To the new players, nowadays the Power Armor for Gold Bullion is no longer worth getting. T-65 may have the highest resistances, but around 500 the value's diminishing returns become VERY apparent and adding anymore doesn't do much at all for damage mitigation. Other than the damage reduction stat, it doesn't offer anything special. Hellcat is better because it offers ACTUAL damage reduction against ballistic damage and Union Power Armor is better because it gives you +75 carry capacity and +150 acid resistance. Also, getting the Overeater's legendary effects on them all gives WAY more damage mitigation than a static T-65 power armor set. The Gold Bullion is better used on other things like resource production items, weapons, and Secret Service armor. Not to mention, the Hellcat armor can be earned from doing specific sets of quests and the Union Power Armor can be farmed for any time you want during the day for as long as you want, unlike Gold Bullion that's limited to 400 a day with the 300 bonus you can get per week.

Appreciate the video, just started playing last month and am now doing the endgame grind. Managed to get the gauss shotgun and mods and gauss minigun from Minerva. Kinda wish I would've known more about the grind since I haven't used those weapons yet. But im at like 2k bullion right now. Thinking of going SS instead of t65 as I only use power armor for daily ops and nuke events in which case the t51 works just fine.
The Plasma Caster has great utility. It is one of the top weapons for a heavy gun build without power armor - it never runs out of ammo (mobs drop fare more than the one/two shots needed) and allows for great carry weight and quick change to a fully heavy event setup(Power Armor + any energy gatling).
Bent Paper I recommend you to use the dense mod because it almost denies fire and explosion damage (if used along with fireproof you can stand a double shot mirv fat man with almost no damage (4 damage)
I just got the jetpack and it sucks. It barley propels you up with the amount of ap used. You better have a ton of Ap and faster than normal ap regeneration otherwise it's a waste of precious bullion.
Keep in mind that the Gauss Shotgun and Minigun he showcased are bugged "magic" weapons. Unless you have a magic effect, you will not be dealing as much damage as he does. That was very deceptive of you, Rifle. Shame on you.
I love the plasma caster, got one with quad and 25% fire rate, that thing fires so fast and deals so much damage, and the amount of ammo you get to it, who needs a plasma gatling or minigun when you have that?

And you can spam the trigger and aim to get it to fire faster it's kinda weird but it's pretty fun

Plasma cluster vs guass minigun has to do with perks. If you have an instigating plasma caster,it is powerful. I did 1346 damage without drugs and this ain't bloodied. Now the rest,guass minigun is average at everything else but it all comes down to the legendary modification and how it couwoperats with the fire rate of the gun. And rifle if you do get an instigating plasma cluster try it.
Grinding out my full set of unyielding secret service armor was a pain, but now my commando character is a destroyer of worlds. I though legacy weapons just meant weapons you can't get with certain prefixes because I have an double explosive harpoon gun, neither of which are now available on a harpoon gun drop. Double is weak and was replaced by quad so that's not actually any advantage but an explosive harpoon gun with the flechette modification is a big explosive shotgun that you never run out of ammo for because you get more than one harpoon back when you loot the body.
The excavator PA gives you bonus carry weight when you wear the full set.

Yeah, and in the comparison he wasn’t really fair, having Gauss Minigun with Prime capacitor and Plasma Caster with Standard one. But I’d only use Plasma Caster with VATS, its hatbox is wonky AF.

Power armor stats is not as significant a point of interest. Better stats are better, but they are not a lot better. The difference between the best and worst power armor is much smaller compared to normal armor, it does not make as significant difference as the numbers look like.
The 42% natural damage reduction does the lion's share of the work, the dr is pretty meaningless in comparison
Using the single hardest hitting attack in the game, a glowing super mutant behemoth's 250 damage melee hit.
A level 15 raider pa with it's 160 resistance will reduce the damage to ~70
A level 45 raider with 341 resistance will get you to ~50
A maxed out T-65 with it's meaty 565 will reduce it to ~45
That is against the attack where having the most armor makes the biggest difference, against all smaller attacks the effects are reduced significantly.
For a 100 damage hit (max level scorchbeasts do 95) the difference for the 3 armors breaks down to 20, 15, 13.
And any shared perks, buffs, or damage resistances reduce the effects even more.
So yes the armor has better stats, and does make an improvement over other things, but the difference is not so significant because the biggest factors in making you tanky in power armor are shared by all armor types, and make the differences that exist only a secondary factor.
If you take the blocker perk, which is one of the best for defense, you make it almost irrelevant what power armor you wear because there is almost 75% of the melee damage removed before the armor even factors, and when calculated out the diminishing returns hit more than twice as severe for the higher tier armors.
It's better than the others, but the difference between any other good set like ultracite or t-51 is not so big as to make a huge difference. And even the humble level 15 raider armor that is the first power armor you can get your hands on makes it so you can take on the toughest enemies and shrug off over 3/4 of their damage. In order to make the resistance stats meaningful would take literal factor of ten stats.(so like 5k+)

What perk load out did you have to get to 2000+ damage with the Gauss Shotgun? Mine currently has a damage of 650. I use a lot of heavy guns, so I run a lot if those cards, but I’m interested to see what you were using and try to work them in.
all shotgun perks with vats crits and bloodied or two shot gauss shotgun my guess is.
@@IloveJellow I’d agree with everything except the Two Shot part. Two Shot doesn’t double the damage, it divides it between the projectiles. So with a Shotgun, it would divide it between the 16 projectiles.
There is a slight percentage increase for each projectile, I just do remember how much.
Lots of good info in this video. I'm not nearly as invested in this game as you are but I have recently found myself with alot more time on my hands. I will be checking out other how to videos and logging more hours in the future. Currently only lvl 109 with 400ish hours.

To the new players, nowadays the Power Armor for Gold Bullion is no longer worth getting. T-65 may have the highest resistances, but around 500 the value's diminishing returns become VERY apparent and adding anymore doesn't do much at all for damage mitigation. Other than the damage reduction stat, it doesn't offer anything special. Hellcat is better because it offers ACTUAL damage reduction against ballistic damage and Union Power Armor is better because it gives you +75 carry capacity and +150 acid resistance. Also, getting the Overeater's legendary effects on them all gives WAY more damage mitigation than a static T-65 power armor set. The Gold Bullion is better used on other things like resource production items, weapons, and Secret Service armor.
Not to mention, the Hellcat armor can be earned from doing specific sets of quests and the Union Power Armor can be farmed for any time you want during the day for as long as you want, unlike Gold Bullion that's limited to 400 a day with the 300 bonus you can get per week.
Oh god I thought he left the Fallout 4 community. I’m glad he’s still covering this mod. Sure the mod has its ups and downs but it’s a good way to relax. Especially walking the Appalachian Trail.

Appreciate the video, just started playing last month and am now doing the endgame grind. Managed to get the gauss shotgun and mods and gauss minigun from Minerva. Kinda wish I would've known more about the grind since I haven't used those weapons yet. But im at like 2k bullion right now. Thinking of going SS instead of t65 as I only use power armor for daily ops and nuke events in which case the t51 works just fine.

The Plasma Caster has great utility. It is one of the top weapons for a heavy gun build without power armor - it never runs out of ammo (mobs drop fare more than the one/two shots needed) and allows for great carry weight and quick change to a fully heavy event setup(Power Armor + any energy gatling).

Bent Paper I recommend you to use the dense mod because it almost denies fire and explosion damage (if used along with fireproof you can stand a double shot mirv fat man with almost no damage (4 damage)
I just got the jetpack and it sucks. It barley propels you up with the amount of ap used. You better have a ton of Ap and faster than normal ap regeneration otherwise it's a waste of precious bullion.

Keep in mind that the Gauss Shotgun and Minigun he showcased are bugged "magic" weapons. Unless you have a magic effect, you will not be dealing as much damage as he does. That was very deceptive of you, Rifle. Shame on you.

I love the plasma caster, got one with quad and 25% fire rate, that thing fires so fast and deals so much damage, and the amount of ammo you get to it, who needs a plasma gatling or minigun when you have that?
