    I have owned one for 12 weeks. Absolute luxury. Quiet. Refined. Eye catching. Very smooth. Good torque. Average 5 litres per 100 km around town. We are getting over 800 km out of a 50 litre tank.

    I have an ES300h as a daily and it feels quicker and effortless off the line than my GS350 F sport!
    I like both of my cars for different reasons. But the ES hybrid makes more sense as a daily. Comfort, room, cheaper to run, and easy on gas by double the mpg.

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  4 года назад +5

      That makes sense for sure, yea the more I think about it, the ES300h would be the superior choice over the ES350 very nice daily. So glad you own those awesome rides!

    I recently retired from my job at a Lexus dealership and I had a chance to drive this vehicle daily. I easily got 40+ miles per gallon no matter how I drove. On a trip to drop off a service loaner and pick up a service guest’s vehicle, I averaged 44 miles a gallon, round trip (about 90 miles of mixed highway and stop-and-go traffic.)
    If you are looking for a sedan and you have 55k to spend, this is THE car to buy. It is quick enough, especially in Sport mode. It is quiet, it is reliable (I own a 2013 ESh and have had ZERO issues since I bought it used 4 years ago). It’s more expensive to buy, but cheaper to own. All you’ll need to do is change the oil and the tires (hybrids are a bit tougher on tires due to the initial blast of torque from the electric motor), it is plush, it is loaded with features and it is comfortable.

    My 2019 ES 300h ownership comment copied from your 2020 ES 350 review...
    Great review, as always!
    Had 30,000 miles on 2017 ES350 totaled by feral pig (!); now 8,000 miles on 2019 ES 300h.
    Totally different cars!!
    2017: a really good car.
    2019: a GREAT car! Just wow.
    Liked 'em both, BUT 2019 with new platform DEFINITELY a couple of notches higher, feels more substantial,.
    - Wider frame, firmer feel on road, particularly corners. It just feels solid! 2017 very comfortable, a little wobbly in turns.
    - Interior larger, much improved dashboard layout, bigger screen, more interior room
    - lotsa little things: shifter firmer and more solid, pumping gas doesn't stop with two gallons left to fill, doors opening and shut more solid,
    Result: driving habits changed. More relaxed, more deliberate, more careful, park and drive in open spaces, avoid the lane jockeys and speed burners.Why? Because every time I'm in the car I really appreciate all the thought that went into creating this....dare I say it....work of automobile art.
    EXCELLENT gas mileage, smaller tank (13 gallons), REAL averages low 30's no pussyfooting in town, low to mid 40's freeway, I drive cruise control 60, sometimes 65. (Lexus avg. mileage 2.2.5 lower than shown odisplay )
    Regrets: only that my car doesn't have all the luxury features it deserves: automatically closing doors, back seat massage, popup window sunscreens, heated rear seats, automatic ice chest with drinks (don't need Mark Levinson with poor hearing).
    Only other car I'd consider: Lexus LS 500h for the luxury and ride, twice as much, roughly same interior room. Where's that lottery ticket??

    thnx for the review this is the only version we get here in europe of the ES and it actually makes sense they dont sell the v6 here , fuel is expensive and the germans just dont allow lexus to oversell them over here . Here this car or any other lexus really can only be found on the dealerships , personally ive never seen one on the road . So if you are european and want something serene ,smooth , realiable ,efficient and you wanna stand out from others this (Lexus) is the way to go.
    I tottaly agree with you on the stupidity having the fake sound on the LS , thats just non sense and imo having an f-sport on the LS is also pathetic , that car is and always has been the peak of confort and smoothness , thats the car identity dont try to make everything sportier .
    On a final note i wish lexus at least sold the 4 banger IS200t that you guys get there ,here in europe we only have that engine on the rc200t wich is a more sporty focused car , but i get it people would pick any german diesel over it

      @MeynMotorGroup  4 года назад

      Hey thanks again my friend for stopping by and watching. Yes the emissions is really strict in other countries I have noticed and it is beginning to get more strict here in the States. Surprisingly, the ES hybrid might be the better choice for once over the V6.
      Yea fake engine noise is the worst especially in the LS, or at least give us the option to turn it off. I do want to check out the F sport LS and the regular to see what differences they made. Lexus never screws with the ride which is good but the steering and shift logic is a bit crisper in an F sport but we shall see, hopefully they didn't ruin it.
      And yes, I heard you only get a hybrid IS if I'm not mistaken? The turbo 4 would have been a nice addition there and not just for the RC.
      Thanks again for your amazing comments and support, stay blessed my friend.

    Have you seen the new F Sport 300h? Picked up one of those last month, good motor so far. I too am heavy footed historically so a bit of a change but so far enjoying it. A different experience to a performance car, but fits well with the insane gas price in the UK. Do miss the being pushed into my seat when floor it, but the refinement and quietness in the cabin makes up for part of that. Great brand though, and wouldn't mind adding an LC 500 once have paid through the finance in a couple of years so be good to have both options.

      I thought there was no such thing as "negotiating" anymore with these dealers. I just bought a 2020 ES 300 trading in my 2019 ES350. I didn't negotiate at all with them. They wouldn't come down $10! But the 2020 ES 300 is quieter and especially HAS a much colder AC! (Live in Fla.) That's huge for me. And for some reason the wheels don't get as dirty as my 350 did! I was constantly cleaning those wheels! Maybe it's a new car I don't know. But the break dust is not as...... pronounced. White/Black int. And I super darkened ALL WINDOWS even the WINDSHIELD! Great look.

    After buying the ES300h Ultra Lux, and going back and watching your reviews, I now realize you may have been in my head subliminally. You were right, it is an excellent car. Over 1100 miles we are averaging 47.1 mixed driving. I like it as much as the LS we had, that should not be the case, and regular fuel is good. I paid 52k the sticker was 57k, but more importantly at 52k I dont know what you would but better. We had a base rental albeit brand new Camry in July, another impressive car. Is the ES worth the extra money, to me yes, but the Camry for the money is a ridiculous bargain.

And to be fair the 2021 is about 4-5k less as a brand new car so it makes sense that they got rid of a few features.

    Hi . Thanks for your review. As always, you're on point. I already recently purchased a 2019 gs350 f sport and absolutely love it. I am planning on a second car or suv for the near future. If you had to choose between the rx or this 300h which would you choose and why? I have been thinking of both but could use a little insight. which one would you give the nod for an overall enjoyable experience? Is the 300 h a little too close to the ground? Did you have any issues getting in and out? On my gs350 f sport awd, it's pretty high off the ground, and even though some prefer rwd for handling, I am tickled pink over the visibility and the ease of getting in and out. Thanks again. Keep reviewing.

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  4 года назад

      Hey thanks again my friend and massive congrats on your new GS, glad you took advantage of that before they stopped making it.
      Hmm that is a tough choice, you would really need to make good use of the trunk space but the RX especially the 2020 is such a treat to drive. The ES is a bit less money and I personally don't need a ton of cargo so I may sway in the ES direction.
      But since you already own a sedan, the RX might be a nice little addition to the fleet as you can't put the seats down in either the ES or the GS. There is an RX hybrid which I want to review as well but the regular RX 350 is also amazing.
      I personally did not have any issues getting in and out of the ES but the RX is nice because you can just slide your rear end in and out pretty effortlessly.
      Def check out both, they are very rewarding vehicles, If I was in your shoes I might try to negotiate down on an RX since you own the GS. Just my two cents but whichever feels best to you my friend.

    Hi Kevin, Do you know the difference between Luxury and ultra Luxury? All of the options offered on the ultra can be added to the Luxury model for almost 3k less than the base price of the ultra Luxury.

      Ultra luxury just comes with a few more features like HUD you can see the difference on the Lexus website. Luxury model still comes with the important things like thicker glass and noise canceling wheels

    Between ES350 and ES 300h, which one will you prefer? Because now I have a ES300h but I want to change a ES350, because of the Four-cylinder engine noise and the Engine vibration.

      Yes this is a real issue cars are so refined now that we actually pick up on and noticed every little creak, rattle, vibration, etc even tho it's totally normal.
      I'm leaning towards the hybrid actually I would buy it and never drive aggressively

      That is a advantage for ES 300h which is weight balance because 300h has a big battery under the back seat, so the balance almost close to 50% to 50%.

    • @eddiekwliu7007
      @eddiekwliu7007 4 года назад +1

      I feel that the problem is not in ECVT. The problem is the engine for ES300h which is A25B-FXS, every-time when it works the vibration is so strong,specially in 30-60km/h. I believe that because the engine needs to drive the generator and the Compression ratio 14:1 , so the noise and vibration come out. Moreover, this problem doesn’t happen in my CT200h.

      I hear they can use Toyota Priuses and other Toyota hybrid models as taxis in NYC and get 300k-400k miles out of them without any major work. After that, the battery is probably depleted, but that's twice as long as many people will keep their cars anyways. Toyota makes a reliable car no matter what. I also hear that the electric motor takes all the stress off the engine and CVT, so it prolongs the life of other drivetrain components!
